My mum was moved from hospital to Carlisle Lodge. It was the best decision, she wasn't eating in hospital since being a Carlisle Lodge she has put on weight and is much happier. The staff are lovely they treat her with respect go out of there way to give her everything she needs. They talk to her, jokes really take there time to understand her needs. The management and owner go out of there way to provide the best care, food nothing is to much trouble.

My mother recently spent some five months in Carlisle Lodge and received professional care from Day One. Nothing was too much trouble for the caring staff who were always happy to help or lend an ear. Due to my mother's condition, she was confined to bed for most of the time she was there and was unable to take part in any activities. Staff were always happy to provide refreshments to visitors. Would recommend to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

Working in the care industry myself I am so grateful to have found this wonderful Nursing Home for my Great Aunt.
She was very apprehensive about moving to a Nursing Home and leaving her house, she has settled so quickly and is always complimenting how lovely the staff are and the wonderful food.
She is socialising with others and said to me yesterday that she has no regrets about her decision and is very happy.
Nothing is too much for the staff here and you can tell they all enjoy working here, The manager is very approachable, kind and friendly and they are very quick to respond to any questions that we may have.

As a family we feel so relaxed knowing that she is receiving such good care.

My mother has been resident at Carlisle Lodge for 5 years. The home was recommended to me and I have never had any concerns about her wellbeing or safety. The staff are first class at giving a personal service and get to know the residents as individuals.
The food is excellent and my mother always enjoys her meals. In addition, snacks are available 24 hours a day at the press of a call button.
The lounge and dining room/conservatory are available to those who can use them or residents who prefer to stay in their rooms are welcome to do so. There is also a peaceful back garden.

My mother's needs have changed over the years but the attention she has received is always personal and very caring. I wouldn't have her anywhere but Carlisle Lodge.

My Father, was welcomed into Carlisle Lodge Nursing home in August of 2025. And I mean welcome! - A very warm reception and that has continued to be our experience from day 1.
The staff and nursing team look after my Dad with kindness, sincerity and grace. They are never rushed or too busy and give my Dad full attention as needed. When there has been medical emergency the staff have been on to it with no delay and my wife and I have felt very supported in every respect.
My father is in the perfect place and we have no doubt about that. we feel can can fully trust that he is being well looked after and cared for and Carlisle Lodge is a Nursing Home that I would highly recommend and additionally have fond memories in the future.
Activities have been appropriate and seasonal celebrations well catered for with full commitment from all the staff.
There is a garden at the back of the property and a covered seating area which we made use of in the summer months last year.

A huge Thankyou.

My Nan has been in the hands of Carlisle Lodge now for over 2 years since developing dementia. The care and attentiveness for her from all the staff has been second to none. Nothing is ever too much, from making her comfortable sitting up in her chair or ensuring she can be in the communal living room to be involved in activities. Visits are always positive from all staff making you feel welcome offering chairs to sit down or refreshments, tea & coffee. Carlisle Lodge is an amazing care home that goes the extra mile to ensure the residents are looked after and then some. We couldn't have chose a better care home for my grandmother.

My father has been in residence for around 3 months. Prior to this, he stayed at another care home. When I used to leave Dad at his previous care home, I felt anxious about leaving him. At Carlisle Lodge, I leave him knowing that he is very safe and cared for 24 hours a day. I thoroughly recommend them.

The home is very welcoming and genuinely caring about the residents and families. They work hard to meet the residents needs and to facilitate activities and relationships. The staff provide good nursing care and are attentive to the residents health concerns. I would recommend it.

My mother spent the last 6 months if her life at Carlisle Lodge. I can honestly say I could not have been happier with her care.Unfailingly she was cared for with compassion, respect and dignity, clearly loved and cared for.The staff are amazing, always friendly, proactive in identifying my mothers needs and cared as much for us as her.The house is lovely, always smells fresh and all the residents dressed appropriately, with care to make sure outfits match etc. The food is wonderful, the home has no visiting restrictions, it is their home. The staff communicate with tbe family, updating and consulting on all aspects of care. I can thoroughly recommend Carlisle Lodge if I ever need this level of care its the place id choose for myself.

The care that my aunt received over her three months at Carlisle Lodge Care Home was second to none.
The exceptional level of care, compassion and dignity given by all of the members of staff to my aunt and our family was beyond compare, we will be forever grateful for the way that they looked after her, especially in her final days.

From the moment we first made contact with them, we knew that this was the place for her, it was home from home and they treated my aunt like one of the family, even attending her funeral. They guided us through some pretty hard times, always putting my aunt and us first. I would 100% recommend this fantastic home and would like to thank them for everything they did.

My husband and I looked around a number of care homes before deciding on this one.
Carlisle Lodge Care Home feels like a home rather than a business. It is a Victorian house with home furnishings that residents relate to. It is clean and always smells fresh.
The staff are amazing and nothing is ever too much trouble. When I phone them they always introduce themselves, know who I am and call me by my name. They keep me well informed of anything they think I would like to know relating to my dad. The management are obviously kind and considerate to their staff as they all work together as a team and relate well to each other. There isn’t any sense of hierarchy.

My dad went into Carlisle Lodge in January of this year and feels very loved and cared for. We, as a family, totally trust them to look after him as we would want him to be looked after and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. He is quite a tease and they enjoy having a laugh with him. Visitors are always welcome.

Dad’s been at Carlisle Lodge Care Home for nearly a year now and my family can’t recommend this nursing home enough. We looked at other places before choosing Carlisle Lodge but what moved us was when we asked ‘what are the visiting hours?’ Other places, some very fancy, had visiting hours between 2-4.30pm. This felt very institutional and was when he napped. We wanted to bring him a paper in the morning, a gin in the afternoon or sit with him while he had lunch. Visit at times which worked for him and our family. ‘You can visit him any time’ they told us at Carlisle Lodge. ‘This is his home’. This has proved true. Having Dad at Carlisle Lodge has been the next best thing to having him at home. The staff care. Many have been there for years. They’ve fattened him up with delicious food tailored to him, joked with him, spoilt him on his birthday and got to know all of us as a family and cared for and welcomed us too. We're lucky to have found Carlisle Lodge and want to thank the staff.

My wife was a resident for a time after her discharge from a hospice. We decided to use this home because of the lovely room and the beautiful view into the gardens. It was very 'home-from-home' and very comfortable. It soon became apparent that there was a lot more to this home than the room and that was the fantastic team. The whole team of staff seemed to make us feel extremely welcome without us actually noticing it happen. We were encouraged to treat it like our own home. The food was always excellent. There were no visiting restrictions on us which meant that someone from the family was able to be there at all times which we found very comforting. My wife and I were very appreciative of the keen and appropriate sense of humour that individual staff displayed - something that helped to ease such a stressful scenario - alongside the professional approach. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their compassion, empathy and effectiveness in my wife's final weeks.
