My mother has been a resident since September 2020 and from day one, I was confident that she was in the right place. The staff are so good at getting to know the residents personally, their likes, dislikes and preferences, the result being that the residents receive the best possible care. The staff,
without exception, are so kind and genuinely caring, both to the residents and their families, and nothing is too much trouble. I have never had cause to express any concerns or reminders and when I go home after visiting I can do so in the confidence that my mother is in capable and caring hands.

The care that my aunt received over her three months at Carlisle Lodge Care Home was second to none.
The exceptional level of care, compassion and dignity given by all of the members of staff to my aunt and our family was beyond compare, we will be forever grateful for the way that they looked after
her, especially in her final days.
From the moment we first made contact with them, we knew that this was the place for her, it was home from home and they treated my aunt like one of the family, even attending her funeral. They guided us through some pretty hard times, always putting my aunt and us first. I would 100% recommend this fantastic home and would like to thank them for everything they did.

My husband and I looked around a number of care homes before deciding on this one.
Carlisle Lodge Care Home feels like a home rather than a business. It is a Victorian house with home furnishings that residents relate to. It is clean and always smells fresh.
The staff are amazing and nothing is ever
too much trouble. When I phone them they always introduce themselves, know who I am and call me by my name. They keep me well informed of anything they think I would like to know relating to my dad. The management are obviously kind and considerate to their staff as they all work together as a team and relate well to each other. There isn’t any sense of hierarchy.
My dad went into Carlisle Lodge in January of this year and feels very loved and cared for. We, as a family, totally trust them to look after him as we would want him to be looked after and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. He is quite a tease and they enjoy having a laugh with him. Visitors are always welcome.

Dad’s been at Carlisle Lodge Care Home for nearly a year now and my family can’t recommend this nursing home enough. We looked at other places before choosing Carlisle Lodge but what moved us was when we asked ‘what are the visiting hours?’ Other places, some very fancy, had visiting hours between 2-4.30pm.
This felt very institutional and was when he napped. We wanted to bring him a paper in the morning, a gin in the afternoon or sit with him while he had lunch. Visit at times which worked for him and our family. ‘You can visit him any time’ they told us at Carlisle Lodge. ‘This is his home’. This has proved true. Having Dad at Carlisle Lodge has been the next best thing to having him at home. The staff care. Many have been there for years. They’ve fattened him up with delicious food tailored to him, joked with him, spoilt him on his birthday and got to know all of us as a family and cared for and welcomed us too. We're lucky to have found Carlisle Lodge and want to thank the staff.

My wife was a resident for a time after her discharge from a hospice. We decided to use this home because of the lovely room and the beautiful view into the gardens. It was very 'home-from-home' and very comfortable. It soon became apparent that there was a lot more to this home than the room and that
was the fantastic team. The whole team of staff seemed to make us feel extremely welcome without us actually noticing it happen. We were encouraged to treat it like our own home. The food was always excellent. There were no visiting restrictions on us which meant that someone from the family was able to be there at all times which we found very comforting. My wife and I were very appreciative of the keen and appropriate sense of humour that individual staff displayed - something that helped to ease such a stressful scenario - alongside the professional approach. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their compassion, empathy and effectiveness in my wife's final weeks.

My mother has been a resident at Carlisle Lodge Care Home since November 2017. Staff have shown an understanding of her needs throughout her stay and have developed skills to adapt to her declining condition and manage the increasing challenges that she possesses. The atmosphere is always calm, friendly
and welcoming. The home is efficiently managed by the matron, deputy matron and nursing staff and supported by caring healthcare assistants.

Have had past experiences of Carlisle Lodge which have made me extremely happy to have my mother here. Many of the staff have been here a considerable time which is a testament to the quality of both the home itself and its leadership. In my opinion, it provides a very high quality of care in a family-like
setting. Has handled Covid-19 fantastically well and is managing relaxation arrangement effectively. I am sure that activities will continue to go from strength to strength and soon begin to match the quality of existing care.

Our Dad was in Carlise Lodge for the last 15 months of his life. We cannot thank the staff of Carlisle Lodge enough for all they did for Dad. He was in the best place and looked after by experienced and caring nursing staff.
We will be eternally grateful knowing that in Dads last months he was extremely
well looked after with both compassion and respect.
My brother and I could not fault the home, because that is what it was for Dad, "a home".

The care Mum has received over the past few months at Carlisle Lodge has been second to none. The professionalism coupled with an exceptional level of care and compassion - to say nothing of the attention to detail - is beyond compare and we continue to owe a massive debt of gratitude to the matron
and her excellent staff. To put it more simply, we could not have chosen anywhere better for Mum.

My mother was dubious about moving to a nursing home but having now been there for 7 months her fears have been banished. The standards of every facet of care and assistance have been exemplary, I don't think I can find one negative aspect. I joined my mother for a meal on Christmas Day and it was excellent.
Many of the staff have worked there for a very long time which is a good sign. No one wants to go to a nursing home but if I do I hope it's as good as Carlisle Lodge!

As a family, we have been delighted by the care my mother has received. From the first time Matron came to my mother's flat to assess her needs, we knew she would be well cared for. When my mother entered the home she was welcomed with open arms. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were kind,
caring and jolly. My mother went in as a very poorly, extremely frail and slightly frightened elderly lady, and has come home very much better, having put on weight and in high spirits. We could not have asked for more.

My uncle has been a resident at Carlisle Lodge for four years and has received excellent care during his time at the home. Carlisle Lodge provides a homely, caring environment. Staff are friendly and caring. Every effort has been made to accommodate my uncle's changing needs in order that he can maintain
the best quality of life possible. I am kept informed of any changes in his health care at all times and we can visit any time we wish. All meals are well presented. There is a garden where residents and visitors can sit if they wish to.
