St Peter’s Park Retirement Village (formerly known as Peterhouse Care and Nursing Home), is a real home-from-home in the East Sussex seaside town of Bexhill. The experienced staff provide high-quality, affordable nursing, residential, dementia, end of life, respite and convalescence care.

There really is something for everyone, to suit a range of different needs and tastes on the beautiful site. The lounges, dining rooms and residents’ bar mean there’s plenty of space for group activities. If you want some company, there’s always someone to talk to and to have a coffee with in the lounge. There are also plenty of quieter spots of you want to spend some time by yourself.

The care wing has bedrooms on the ground floor and the first floor. Ground floor rooms have direct access to the garden or courtyard. The first floor is fully accessible, by stairs or a lift.

Some rooms have en-suites. The rooms without en-suites have accessible toilets within easy reach.

The bedrooms are a blank canvas for residents to personalise with their own photos, pictures and furniture. Personal possessions help residents feel at home and provide extra stimulation and time for reminiscence. They also give staff an important understanding of a resident’s history and what’s important to them.

Unusually for a care home, all the bedrooms in the care wing have their own outside space, whether that’s a balcony or a terrace. There’s room for pots, a table and chairs.

Home very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. An excellent place to visit, grounds and building excellent. The only downside is there are not enough caring staff to patient ratio.

A big thank you to all the amazing staff at St Peter's. You have made the move for one's parents into care as stress-free as possible. You have welcomed them and made them feel at home and cared for. We cannot speak highly enough of all of the staff and management at St Peter’s Park. Unfortunately, my dad only experienced their amazing care, love and professionalism for a month before he sadly passed away. However, in those 4-weeks, he was cared for and loved like he was part of their family. We
felt Dad was safe and looked after to the highest standard of care you couldn’t ever imagine. We cannot express our thanks enough to the management and all of the staff. The genuine kindness and care went above and beyond anything we expected - thank you all, we are eternally grateful.

The home is very welcoming from the moment you arrive. The staff at reception greet you as friends, and the home is very clean and lovely. The staff looking after Dad; treat him like he is part of their family. Nothing is too much trouble. He is treated with great care and attention. The grounds are
beautifully kept. Everything about the home could not be better, and I am so glad that Dad is there and feels like he is at home.

My nan needed to come into care during the pandemic, the manager was very accommodating and we were able to get a ground floor room with a balcony so I could see my Nan from the outside. As time has moved on, my nan has moved into the dementia wing and we have been allowed in to visit. The staff are
all so kind and caring and I can see that my nan is well looked after and much more relaxed.

I have found the staff, manager and receptionist helpful, welcoming and polite. My nan recently moved into St Peter's Park, which was obviously stressful for my nan, but she has now settled in extremely well and is really happy here. This is due to the professionalism and caring nature of all the staff

I have settled in now and happy here. Sooner be in my own home, as home to this a lovely home. If I was given a choice, would be this one. My room is lovely with a lovely view. Home has been very accommodating - food choices. My family are very impressed - if I am happy, they are happy.

St Peter’s Park offers care specific to the individual. My mother has items of her own furniture in her room and several of her favourite pictures have been hung up on the wall, so she has a certain amount of familiarity in her surroundings, which is a comfort. The staff are very caring and listen to
what she says.
They helped to celebrate her recent birthday, decorating her room with birthday banners, giving her a well-chosen birthday card and producing a birthday cake (with a candle), baked in St Peter’s Park kitchen. The date did not pass unnoticed that day!
In the short time, my mother has been there, she has been involved in craft activities, gone on an outing to the Christmas tree farm and been accompanied on a short walk around the grounds of the church next door, with the aid of her wheeled walking frame, which she enjoyed.
Owing to Covid regulations, it is not really possible to see how the residents live day-to-day, but we can video-call or have limited Covid-secure visits.

Have only been here for 2 weeks and found to be very friendly had helpful residents and staff. The studio flat is very nice and comfortable. I cannot thank the receptionist enough for all her kindness.
