It is clear that the residents' wellbeing is their top priority, and my brother is happy, comfortable, and receiving excellent care. Knowing he is in such safe and capable hands gives our family great peace of mind.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for high-quality care for a loved one.
Your brother is a valued member of our home and we are glad we have the opportunity to care for him. If there is anything we can help either of you with, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Very grateful for all the support from Highbury House. Amazing care from the team as my step father now sadly approaches the end of life. Compassionate, caring and dignified treatment. Can't thank the team enough.
Thank you for your lovely review of our home and team! We feel most privileged to be able to take care of your step father. Please reach out to us if there is anything we can help with.
I knew nothing about this home and would have preferred something nearer to her residence.
However I'm not in the least bit disappointed, transport to Rottingdean is easy and quick. The home is "homely"
Living abroad I am reassured that my mother is in the best of hands and she seems to be enjoying the care given.
We sincerely appreciate your kind feedback. We are grateful to have the opportunity to care for your mother, and we know that distance can be concerning. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make things easier for you both.

My great nan stayed at this care home and we couldn't be more grateful for the care she received. The staff were kind, patient, and treated her with real dignity and respect.
It gave our family great comfort knowing she was in such safe and caring hands. Thank you to everyone for the compassion and support you showed her and us.
Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review, your kind words mean a lot to us.

My sister appears to be very happy which is lovely to see, we have had bad experiences with other homes and this, so far, seems to be first class.
I've answered the question as excellent as far as I can see,
Thank you for your lovely review of our home! We are very pleased to hear your sister is happy with us, and we feel most privilege to be able to take care of her. Please reach out to us if there is anything we can help with.
My mother in law needed palliative care. We chose Highbury House as it was local to us and when I looked around was welcoming and the staff where able to address all of my concerns. She was given a beautiful room. She was very well looked after including regular hair washes and her nails being painted which were very important to her. As a family we were welcomed and able to visit at anytime. She appreciated being visited by children from the local school. We really appreciate all the care and support from all the staff.
Thank you for your lovely comments of our home and team, your review is most appreciated. We would like to thank you for trusting us to look after your mother-in-law, it was a privilege for us.
My mother, who has dementia and is bed bound, has been a resident at the Home for a while now. She is in a lovely room with a view of the beautiful garden and loves being able to see the birds and flowers. My main take of the Home is just how lovely the staff are. All of them are very caring and friendly and have a good rapport with my Mum. It is also nice that you can make yourself at home there when you visit. I feel very comfortable that my Mum is being cared for now that I can't look after her.
Thank you for your lovely review! We are glad that your mother is enjoying her room and we are pleased you feel at home here too! Your comments regarding our team are most appreciated. Thank you for the continued pleasure of looking after your mother.
My husband was a resident there for 5 months on palliative and then end-of-life care. His room was beautiful and airy, he enjoyed the food and he felt very comfortable there. The staff is outstanding: caring, respectful, warm and professional. Cleaners, nurses, carers, cooks, social workers and maintenance and administration people were all very supportive at the most difficult time of my life. I will be forever grateful. For the last month of my husband's life, I practically lived there and they became my friends. Thank you to them.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We were very grateful to have the pleasure of looking after your husband and to also welcome you into our home. We really value the high rating you have given our home and Team. Thank you.
Thank you and kind regards.
We are very sorry to hear of the loss of your father, and we are sending you our condolences. Thank you for your review, and kind words which we will pass on to the team. We were very privileged to have your father stay with us before he was able to move closer to you.
My father came to stay as he was unable to stay at his flat after having 2 broken hips in a year after falls and needed more care than we could give him, at 92 he came to Highbury house and the staff were absolutely amazing with him. The care they gave him couldn't have been better, they all gave him love and care as if he was their own family, he passed away recently so once again I would like to thank them.
Thank you for letting your father be part of our family, we felt very privileged to be able to look after him. We would like to thank you also for your friendship to the home. We will pass on your kind words to our team. Thank you.
Mum needs a lot of care and encouragement and the staff are always cheerful.
Many thanks for your high ratings of our home. It is a continued privilege to care for your mum.
We wanted to say my grandmother is receiving impeccable care in our opinion, we are impressed with how attentive and genuine all the staff are, they are well able to answer whatever question we might ask about her care. My grandmother enjoys the various activities and social life which the staff ensure she is part of (allowing for her advanced dementia). We are very happy.
Thank you for your lovely review of our home and staff, it is a pleasure to be able to look after your grandmother, she brings a smile to the home.
On a daily basis, the staff were attentive and kind to Mum and also looked after my dad, who spent every day there. Nurses were quick to respond to her medical needs and we were always confident of the quality of her care.
Mum spent just three weeks in the home as due to their care and attention, she made enough progress for us to care for her at home again. However, she will be likely to need residential care again in future and I would not hesitate to return. Thank you!
We appreciate the opportunity you gave us to look after your mother and thank you for leaving such a lovely review of our home and staff!
Most importantly, I found the staff warm, friendly and genuinely caring. The nursing staff were excellent, made Mum comfortable and treated her with respect. Thank you all for your care and support through this difficult time.
Thank you also for your positive comments regarding our home and team, I will be sure to share this review with the team here.
The staff are friendly and supportive. The food is nutritious, and the activities are well thought out. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable, and residents are able to access the well-kept garden in fine weather.
We are very glad your mother is enjoying life at Highbury; it is our continued privilege to be taking care of your mother.
Very caring and compassionate staff always willing to help. Any minor problems are sorted quickly and effectively. A good choice of menu and regular refreshments. Effective stimulation through music and word games.
Thank you again for your review.
Highbury House is a lovely, bright, clean home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are generally on the ground floor with double-glazed doors and windows leading into a flowered patio and, if your family member needs a wheelchair, you can wheel them into a beautifully flowered garden. Lovely sea breeze air, and small wildlife to see. Rooms are comfortable, large TV, with all needed essentials. They have afternoon teas in a large seated area, or you can have tea and cake in your room every day. Lots of activities like music and games in the lounge area. Bedding is clean, and you can have more blankets, pillows, if needed. For people with back and muscle problems, the right air inflatable mattress is provided. Easy parking, no parking payments to pay, if you are going by car to see your loved one. Residents are loved, cared for, and well looked after. If you need to place a loved one in a home, this is the place to go. You will have peace of mind. Good visiting hours.
We are privileged to continue to look after your loved love.
Thank you.

Meet the Team (1)

Since the start of my career in care, I have always felt privileged to work in the care sector. It all started when I was 16 and I began working in a nursing home in Horsham as a Healthcare Assistant. I am now the proud Nursing Care Manager at Highbury House and I find it very rewarding to be working with a brilliant team and giving great person-centred care. I am passionate about my family and my work and I joined Southcare Homes because their family values go all the way to the heart of the company and into the hearts of the staff that work here. I hope my extensive experience will help Highbury House achieve its potential, continue offering personalized care to residents and remain a happy home for everyone within.
