I can't thank the staff enough for taking care of my mother the last few months. She was treated with care and dignity right up to the end. She was treated like a member of a loving extended family and so were her family.
Thank you Freshford Cottage staff.

Our Mum moved into Grasmere Care Home at the end of July. This was not a decision we took lightly and we were very nervous that we were doing the right thing.
Mum settled in like a dream. Right from the start she was warmly welcomed by everyone in the home. Mum has really embraced all the activities
and is happy to join in and really enjoys them. She has made lots of new friends and we can see how genuinely happy she is to be there.
Mum is so well looked after. All the staff are very friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. We are always welcomed when we visit. Since Mum went into Grasmere I have felt nothing but relief that Mum is well cared for. Grasmere is such a happy place.

After making the agonising decision of finding a care home for my mum, I am absolutely delighted we found Grasmere. My mum is thriving, having the responsibility taken away of trying to manage her life, she is now free to live it in an environment that is both stimulating and caring. It feels like
she has gained another family with the level of genuine care given to her. This feels just like a family home.

I cannot emphasise strongly enough how kind and generous the care for my loved one was in Heatherdene Nursing Home. At all times, he was treated with dignity and compassion and staff chatted to him about his interests and life outside Heatherdene. When the end came as we knew it would, his care was
excemplary and your wonderful staff were sensitive, kind and professional as always.

After alot of ups and downs with different care facilities we have finally found the one place my nan feels comfortable. Very responsive to care needs and staff are lovely. My nan seems to have a special bond with certain members of staff. Facilities are great and communication is good. Medication reviews
with the nurse could be better and needs better communication otherwise a very warm, welcome place.
Reply from Antonina Gont, Home Manager at Grasmere Rest Home

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We truly love having Nan here and feel she has greatly improved since being at Grasmere. We look forward to getting to spend every day with her! In regard to the medication review, we will speak to the Sutton Health and Care Team to see if there is a way they can improve this.

My mother in law needed palliative care. We chose Highbury House as it was local to us and when I looked around was welcoming and the staff where able to address all of my concerns. She was given a beautiful room. She was very well looked after including regular hair washes and her nails being painted
which were very important to her. As a family we were welcomed and able to visit at anytime. She appreciated being visited by children from the local school. We really appreciate all the care and support from all the staff.

We were very apprehensive about moving my father-in-law to a home as he'd been so independent for such a long time; however, within hours, he had settled in. He started joining in with the activities and other residents and looked so happy. As soon as we walked in the door, it felt like home from home,
and the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We were offered tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits on every visit. The food always looked delicious and was beautifully presented, cooked fresh, and was such a great choice. His room was cosy with a separate toilet and sink, TV and a nice view; everything he needed was there. The activities they provide are wonderful, and you can see the residents' joy at being offered such a great opportunity to join in. The staff complement the home so much and are very kind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Freshford Cottage to anyone looking for care, as we couldn't fault it. It really is like home.

We were so delighted to get a room at Freshford Cottage for my sister-in-law who was discharged from a London hospital for end-of-life care. The staff were all so caring, friendly & supportive, despite the additional challenges that dementia brought. The nursing care was efficient and effective. The
food was beautifully prepared, with all preferences taken into account. The beauty of a smaller home is the personalised attention that is possible both for the resident & their families. We would not hesitate to recommend Freshford Cottage to others.

An amazing 'family feel' from the team that run and care for all the residents. My mother is very well looked after, not just her needs, but as a member of the Grasmere family, as a person and with love. Even though my mothers dementia has sadly progressed, she is still very much included, and they
take time to talk and look after her and involve in activities.

I am so relieved to have found Heatherdene for my mother. From my very very visit, Heatherdene has always been a welcoming and friendly place. The staff are clearly very caring and know all the residents extremely well. My mother is receiving outstanding care there and has improved significantly since
arriving 18 months ago. She enjoys being brought into the lounge every day and the stimulation she receives through both staff and resident interactions plus the daily activities has really added to her quality of life. I would highly recommend Heatherdene to anyone looking for a supportive and caring home.

My mother, who has dementia and is bed bound, has been a resident at the Home for a while now. She is in a lovely room with a view of the beautiful garden and loves being able to see the birds and flowers. My main take of the Home is just how lovely the staff are. All of them are very caring and
friendly and have a good rapport with my Mum. It is also nice that you can make yourself at home there when you visit. I feel very comfortable that my Mum is being cared for now that I can't look after her.

Mum was admitted to Heatherdene in January 2025 with complex medical needs, leading to palliative care and an end of life pathway. The home and the staff were always caring and professional with a number of calls to me or my sister if there were concerns about mums condition. The home were able to deal
successfully with pain management and were able to keep her comfortable right through until her passing in March 2025.
To all the staff at Heatherdene - keep up the good work, it is appreciated!

My family and I are very satisfied with the care my husband received. I visited him every day, could spend as much time as I wished with him and he seemed content. It is a good community with a range of activities each week which help to keep the residents minds alert, with quizzes, general knowledge,
physical exercise, which visitors could join in. They always made an effort to get my husband up and into the day room and dining room. The food was excellent. When he died I was treated with care and compassion.
