My brother has been a resident at this care home since November 2025, and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They are caring, compassionate, professional, and always treat him with dignity and respect.

The home is clean, welcoming, and well-managed, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The

staff keep us informed and are always happy to answer any questions or concerns.

It is clear that the residents' wellbeing is their top priority, and my brother is happy, comfortable, and receiving excellent care. Knowing he is in such safe and capable hands gives our family great peace of mind.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for high-quality care for a loved one.

My Mum came to Heatherdene for palliative care from hospital. From when I visited to view the room and home all the staff were friendly and the home had a lovely warm homely feel to it. I knew straight away that this was the place for my Mum.
Every member of staff were kind, caring, compassionate and
treated her with dignity for her last chapter of life.
Nothing was ever to much. She was comfortable, pain free and cared for by the most beautiful people.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for making my Mums final days so very peaceful.

Heatherdene Nursing Home where very good to my aunt and really took the time to provide her with the best care possible. She had been in and out of hospital/other care homes with no long term stability, Heatherdene gave that to her.

The staff were always knowledgeable and caring and provided stability

for my aunt and piece of mind for her family and friends.

Freshford Cottage provided not just outstanding care for my sister when supporting her end of life care but also loved, respected and took time to get to know her and that meant the world to Emma and our family.

From the first communication with Diana we knew that this was a supportive and caring

environment. I honestly can't thank all the team for their professionalism and the quality of care that was provided. Nothing was too much to ask.

The staff not just cared for my sister but also made sure my mum was supportive when visiting her daughter at the most challenging time.

Thank you so very much for all that you did you ensure Emma was not in pain and was able to pass peacefully.

Reply from Diana Midoschi, Registered Nursing Care Manager at Freshford CottageThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. It means a great deal to all of us that you took the time to share your experience.

It was a privilege to care for Emma and to support both her and your family during such an important and difficult time. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and we are deeply touched to know that Emma felt loved, respected, and comfortable while she was with us.

Your recognition of the support provided to your mum and family is especially appreciated, as caring for loved ones is an important part of what we do. We will be sure to share your lovely feedback with Diana and the entire team, who will be greatly encouraged by your words.

My Mum has been a resident of Freshford Cottage Nursing Home since December 2024.
She was discharged from The Hospital into the Care of Freshford Cottage Nursing Home for "End of Life Care. Her prognosis wasn't good all.
I was reassured by all the Staff who care for my Mum that they would do the very
best for my Mum. I felt supported too by Diana the Manager and all the Nursing Team on what was a very emotional time for me.
Sadly in recent months my Mum's Mental Health has deteriorated.
Which is proving to be an issue for the Carers/Nurses carrying out there usual Care routines - Due to my Mum's challenging behaviour.
They continue to reassure and support my Mum regardless.
And Diana and the Nursing Team are straight on to the GP's and Mental Health Team -To find the right medication to support this.
I have no doubt in my mind that my Mum is cared for in the best possible way in the Care of Freshford Cottage Nursing Home.
Thank you all for your support.
Reply from Diana Midoschi, Registered Nursing Care Manager at Freshford CottageDear Mandy, thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words and experience with us.

We are truly grateful for your feedback and are pleased to hear that you have felt supported by Diana and the team during what has undoubtedly been a very emotional and challenging journey. I cannot be more pleased with the care that my husband has received since last September. He was very poorly when he was admitted, and no one envisaged any improvements, but with the love and care he has been shown, there have been improvements which have amazed our family. There is always a warm welcome
when I visit, and I am always offered tea. There are always members of staff around to discuss any worries or concerns that I may have. There is a wide range of activities on offer, which is so beneficial. I bless the day I found Freshford Cottage.

Our Mum has only been at Freshford Cottage for just over a week, and in her words, it is like staying in a 5 star hotel. She has a lovely room upstairs with a sea view and overlooking the salts recreation ground. The staff have been amazing and nothing is too much trouble. They have facilities going
on during the day throughout the week, so residents would never get bored. Our Mum has a large family who visit her regularly, we are always treated with the upmost respect and pleased to say the kettle is always on. Our Mum loves to chat and there is always someone on hand to listen to her. We can't ask for anymore. Our Mums happiness is paramount, and we as a family are pleased that they are taking great care of our precious Mum. Thank you so much to the brilliant staff at Freshford Cottage, couldn't wish for a more friendly family orientated place for Mum to be.

I'm so glad that Freshford Cottage was recommended to me. They are so caring and give such brilliant support to my wife who suffers from dementia and various other mental health problems. Initially I felt guilty not being able to care for her myself, but she wasn't safe at home. The staff at Freshford
spend a lot of time with her, not just for medical reasons but also to chat and engage with her. Being a small home with I believe only a maximum of 18 residents makes it feel very personal. All the staff are very approachable and keep me involved with her care.

Heatherdene Nursing Home. Is home from home. On arrival, my mother-in-law settled in very quickly. The staff very professional, kind and caring. Heatherdene is a well-managed home. I found the communication excellent when visiting my mother-in-law, updating me how she was/had been. Which I found
very reassuring. Heatherdene is a very clean home and my mother-in-law enjoyed the food very much. The staff always welcoming on visits along with a nice cup of tea and slice of homemade cake. I would highly recommend Heatherdene.

My extremely frail uncle came to Lime Tree House in 2022 when it became clear he was no longer able to look after himself at home. The care and support he was given at Lime Tree House was truly excellent. Being welcomed into the Lime Tree House 'family' really improved his health and his quality of
life, and as a result he had 3 happy 'bonus years' that I am certain he would not otherwise have had. The kindness of the staff towards all residents shines through, and residents are genuinely cared for, not just looked after.

My Dad has been living in Lime Tree House for 18 months. It wasn't an easy transition for him, but the staff were patient, kind and encouraging to him. Over time, my Dad's mental capacity has significantly decreased which was expected with his dementia diagnosis.
I remain confident that his care and
welfare needs are fully met by the staff. They KNOW my Dad and understand him. It's a small home and the person centered care is amazing.
The manager Stacey, is a calm, professional and caring. The staff have been there all the time by Dad has and some have been there for many years. This was really important to me.
The food is also freshly cooked, nutritious and tasty.
I work in the social care sector and therefore have high standards for my Dad's care. I have never been concerned that his emotional or physical care hasn't been met to a high standard.
Thank you all

My mum is enjoying life at Heatherdene. There is often something going on - food tasting, quizzes, puzzles, singing, competitive games, which residents can take part in if they wish. Mum is clean and putting some weight on. The building is always clean, and there are no unpleasant smells.
Staff are

I like the monthly care where residents' rooms are deep cleaned and stats taken on residents' health.

Mum has been cared for (with real care) since December. She had been in hospital unable to communicate or swallow, a week earlier and had made some progress. We thought she'd make more but not as much as Heatherdene (and she) have managed. They listened to our views and referred to speech and language
therapy on Xmas eve so as to be hopeful but safe. She's now eating more normally. They recognised low mood and medication has helped her 'come back' to us. Not everyone will make this progress with end stage Parkinsons, but regardless all staff are very friendly & observant and have good relationships with her. I am wary of 'glowing' reviews but we know the care is great, as mum has mentioned that only once in 2 months has she waited for a table to be pushed closer or waited to be helped downstairs. This is remarkable when so many people have been at the end of their lives. Beena, Tina and Sarah have all been exceptional.
Lounge redecoration will soon be finished -star for facilities

My wife has been in Lime Tree House since 13/10/2025 following a period of respite. Since then, the staff have been so helpful, and assisting her to settle in and accept the permanency of her stay. I am so grateful to everyone at the home for looking after her in a way I can no longer achieve. She appears
happy and content, although she has a reluctance to ask the staff if she needs something. She feels a nuisance by doing so. The home is the best one she has been in. The bedroom and community rooms are well furnished and welcoming. There is a freshness about the place. The staff are so helpful, pleasant and understanding. I trust them to look after my wife who I have loved for 66 years. Since I am unable to give the care and attention she needs and deserves, I am more than willing to commit her to the care of Lime Tree House.
