I can honestly say that Mum is in the best home. Care is fantastic, food amazing and everyone is friendly and welcoming. She is looked after so well and feels safe and secure. Every where is clean, comfy and it's a real home from home. We feel very lucky she was able to come to Lime Tree House.
Thank you for the lovely review Lorna! We are so happy she loves Lime Tree!
My extremely frail uncle came to Lime Tree House in 2022 when it became clear he was no longer able to look after himself at home. The care and support he was given at Lime Tree House was truly excellent. Being welcomed into the Lime Tree House 'family' really improved his health and his quality of life, and as a result he had 3 happy 'bonus years' that I am certain he would not otherwise have had. The kindness of the staff towards all residents shines through, and residents are genuinely cared for, not just looked after.
Thank you for your time to write such a lovely review. We really appreciate any feedback that is given. It was a pleasure.
I remain confident that his care and welfare needs are fully met by the staff. They KNOW my Dad and understand him. It's a small home and the person centered care is amazing.
The manager Stacey, is a calm, professional and caring. The staff have been there all the time by Dad has and some have been there for many years. This was really important to me.
The food is also freshly cooked, nutritious and tasty.
I work in the social care sector and therefore have high standards for my Dad's care. I have never been concerned that his emotional or physical care hasn't been met to a high standard.
Thank you all
Thank you for your kind review, i will pass on your lovely words to the team.
My wife has been in Lime Tree House since 13/10/2025 following a period of respite. Since then, the staff have been so helpful, and assisting her to settle in and accept the permanency of her stay. I am so grateful to everyone at the home for looking after her in a way I can no longer achieve. She appears happy and content, although she has a reluctance to ask the staff if she needs something. She feels a nuisance by doing so. The home is the best one she has been in. The bedroom and community rooms are well furnished and welcoming. There is a freshness about the place. The staff are so helpful, pleasant and understanding. I trust them to look after my wife who I have loved for 66 years. Since I am unable to give the care and attention she needs and deserves, I am more than willing to commit her to the care of Lime Tree House.
Thank you for your time to write such a lovely review. We really appreciate any feedback that is given.
My husband and I was invited to a bonfire lunch with our friend. We had a lovely meal and it was lovely to sit with the residents and learn more about them all and their interesting lives and where they use to live. Many of them are local to Lewes and it must have been enjoyable for them to mix with some new faces.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We really appreciate any feedback that is given.
I am very happy with Lime Tree House. The staff have all been amazing and have encouraged mum to join in some of the very varied activities. Movement and meditation a particular favourite. The home is light and bright and the food excellent.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We really appreciate any feedback that is given.
My mum is very happy here and really enjoys living here at her home
There are always activities to do here.
Lime Tree House is run extremely well.
Thank you for your kind words and giving us such a wonderful review. We are so glad your mum is happy here with us at Lime Tree.
Care has been excellent in general. The food is good and the care is very good. There have been one or two management issues which have been resolved. There are a good range of activities and staff are keen to get residents involved. The room is comfortable and kept warm with good views and lighting. The are some good meeting rooms as well.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will pass this on to all the staff.
After many years living at Lime Tree House, my 97-year-old mother is now becoming more frail and in need of more and more attendance. The excellent care they provided in the past has now been extended, always with the same gentleness, kindness and respect for my mum. She still knows many of the staff, trusts them and thanks them when they help her.
Thank you for your kind words that will be passed on to the team. It is a pleasure to have your mother here with us at Lime Tree House.
All equipment she required was provided and installed promptly.
The ambiance and decor was of a high standard.
The staff looked smart, were professional and caring. Making Mum feel one of the family.
The food was of a high standard, well presented and if there was nothing she liked, they would do her something separate.
She felt safe. Staff were always walking by her room and all staff interacted with her.
The room was clean and cleaning staff were helpful and again chatted to her.
She enjoyed her experience as a respite and we have no concerns for her to return as respite or long-term care.
We are so happy your mum feels settled here at lime tree. Thank you for taking the time to review us.
From the moment you walk in, it is completely cosy. Beautifully decorated - okay, nothing to do with care, but important to be surrounded by. All the carers know my name and who I am visiting, and they all have a smile; even the odd job man makes us laugh. My friend is very happy there. I would recommend it to anyone.
Kind regards.
Lovely staff, all very caring and easy to speak to. Variety of activities offered by the wonderful well-being/activity coordinators. They gave Nana a lovely birthday surprise with cake and personal gifts. Home-cooked food - the home even put on a special afternoon tea for my grandparent's wedding anniversary last summer! Rooms are all welcoming and easily personalised. What a lovely place to stay!
It is always a pleasure to provide a nice birthday for our Residents and special Anniversaries!
I will ensure to pass your comments on to our brilliant team at Lime Tree House.
Kind regards.
A very caring place who does listen when I speak (and they act!) Mum is mostly happy there - as long as she's having a good day, of course. Activities are good and well run. Quite happy leaving Mum in their care.
Kind regards.
I do have one concern - why is there such a big turnover of managers? Are there problems with their working conditions or pay? Do they get enough support from the owners?
As you can appreciate, we do not comment on individual staffing matters - these are confidential. However, please be assured that the proprietors do visit weekly, are in touch daily, and...
My uncle chose this wonderful homely residential care home after we had received an in-depth tour from the manager, who spent time answering all our natural concerns for him to transfer from independent living to a home filled with other residents, of all capabilities. We were impressed with what we were shown and grateful for the speedy transfer. My uncle has taken a few weeks to settle in but overall is feeling secure and well cared for, he loves the fact that we as his family are able to drop by unannounced to visit him. The staff are kind, and caring and always acknowledge us whenever we call by. The home is spoilt less and has a feeling of homely things around. The activity team are great, thinking up different things for the residents to take part in daily should they wish. I love to follow all the fun activities on social media.
Thank you for your lovely review!
We are glad he is settling in well and are grateful to have him as part of our family.
I will pass on your positive comments to all of the staff at Lime Tree House.
Kind regards.
Given a beautiful sunny room, surrounded by personal items, enjoyed good home-cooked food and received love and care from all who met her. The staff were diligent with her physical and mental needs and she soon became stronger and was encouraged to take part in the many activities that the home offered.
Family and friends were always made to feel welcome when visiting, and communication by phone, email and social media was regular.
The manager and staff helped our parents celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a splendid cream tea.
Six months on, with Mum's health restored, she has left Lime Tree and returned to the family home.
Massive thanks.
I will ensure to pass on your lovely comments to all staff.
Kind regards,
Jasmine
I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Lime Tree House. The staff are wonderful and have a really good rapport with Mum. The home is comfortable, clean and homely and the food is very good. I am kept up to date with all aspects of Mum's care which gives me confidence that she is in the right place.
Thank you for your kind words. Your mum is a wonderful addition to Lime Tree House, I will pass on your positive comments to my team.
The staff are all very committed and helpful.
We are delighted that your mum has settled so well. Thank you for your positive feedback I will share this with the team.
My uncle had some respite care at Lime Tree House about three years ago. Last Christmas he returned for full-time care and was remembered by the staff, who understand his individual ways and needs. The management team are always there to discuss his present and future care. I'm happy he is in a safe caring environment.
Thank you for your positive review, we will share this with the staff team.
My friend has been a resident for ten months. Her room is newly decorated and she was allowed to bring her personal belongings and her furniture. All the office staff and carers have been very caring and friendly and have been very welcoming to me. The social media page is brilliant so I can see my friend enjoying herself with activities and special events which means if I can't get in when I phone I know what to talk about. My friend is very happy at Lime Tree it did take a her a few months for her to settle. The only criticism I would say is an email or text or a note on social media if the home is closed due to covid or sickness.
We will share your lovely comments with the staff team.

I’ve been a part of the Southcare family for 17 years and have a high regard for the proprietors, both personally and professionally – they truly know how to care. The entire Southcare family and all of us at Lime Tree treat our residents like family and that extends to their loved ones as well. We do our very utmost to ensure they receive the best care. Most elderly ones do not like change and that’s why we like to offer our residents a home for life, hoping that Lime Tree House will always be their home, like a Home away from Home

What makes me happy? Knowing that I made the difference at the end of the day and that they are looked after well."

Hi, I'm Emily,
I started at Lime Tree House in March 2022 as Head Housekeeper, I take pride in my work and have built a strong team around me who supports me in the Housekeeping Department, keeping the home in high standards of cleanliness and following strict infection control procedures. Staff are always friendly and the thing I like about working at the home is being part of a dedicated team and also interacting with all our lovely residents.
