Heatherdene Nursing Home is a large Edwardian house located in a quiet residential area of Bexhill-on-Sea on the South Coast.

24-hour care services are offered for all residents. All staff have regular in-house training, NVQ training and attend courses relevant to care of the elderly.

Heatherdene has 27 spacious rooms with a passenger lift. 23 rooms are ensuite (4 rooms with no ensuite). Heatherdene has one dining area, two lounges and an accessible garden. The garden is well maintained with lawn and flowers and a patio area.

The home's catering staff use local produce. There are weekly deliveries of fresh food by the local butcher/greengrocer.

The company believes everyone is entitled to privacy, dignity and respect and staff are made aware that the needs of the residents are paramount.

Visitors are welcome at any time.

Fees are based on the bedroom of your choice.

My stepfather has now been at Heatherdene Nursing Home for just over 3 years. The care and consideration he has received has always been very good. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit and the staff are very friendly and communicative.

I cannot emphasise strongly enough how kind and generous the care for my loved one was in Heatherdene Nursing Home. At all times, he was treated with dignity and compassion and staff chatted to him about his interests and life outside Heatherdene. When the end came as we knew it would, his care was

My husband was cared for at Heatherdene for almost 3 years. I visited daily but on the rare occasions when I couldn't be with him knowing he was in their care gave so much peace of mind. Their kindness and support, to me also, was so very much appreciated.

I am so relieved to have found Heatherdene for my mother. From my very very visit, Heatherdene has always been a welcoming and friendly place. The staff are clearly very caring and know all the residents extremely well. My mother is receiving outstanding care there and has improved significantly since
arriving 18 months ago. She enjoys being brought into the lounge every day and the stimulation she receives through both staff and resident interactions plus the daily activities has really added to her quality of life. I would highly recommend Heatherdene to anyone looking for a supportive and caring home.

Mum was in Heatherdene for 7 years until she recently passed away. The love, care and respect she was given by all staff in this time was second to none. My utmost thanks go to all concerned, especially in the last days of her life when they cared for me as much as for Mum.

My mother was in Heatherdene in 2019 so was no question of doubt that mother in law would receive excellent care in the best nursing home in Bexhill-On-Sea. The staff are considerate, caring and fantastic at all times. Nothing is too much trouble and there was no other place we would of chosen for her
end of life care. We cant thank Heatherdene enough.

Mum was admitted to Heatherdene in January 2025 with complex medical needs, leading to palliative care and an end of life pathway. The home and the staff were always caring and professional with a number of calls to me or my sister if there were concerns about mums condition. The home were able to deal
successfully with pain management and were able to keep her comfortable right through until her passing in March 2025.
To all the staff at Heatherdene - keep up the good work, it is appreciated!

My family and I are very satisfied with the care my husband received. I visited him every day, could spend as much time as I wished with him and he seemed content. It is a good community with a range of activities each week which help to keep the residents minds alert, with quizzes, general knowledge,
physical exercise, which visitors could join in. They always made an effort to get my husband up and into the day room and dining room. The food was excellent. When he died I was treated with care and compassion.

A friend of mine was admitted to Heatherdene last year. She was in very poor health and unable to swallow solid food. Since then the outstanding care and attention she has received have transformed her life. She now eats well, takes part in daily activities and every time I visit tells me how happy
and comfortable she is at Heatherdene. This home is clearly well managed with professional, friendly, caring, staff. I am very confident about the care my friend receives.

Excellent nursing home where the staff are highly professional, caring, attentive to the wishes of the residents and their families. Beautiful building, nice rooms where residents can bring in personal items to make them feel more at 'home', immaculately clean. The meals are very good with a wide variety
of dishes. The activities are wonderful - bingo, sing along, quizzes, films, etc., all run by such a dedicated person who brings such energy, compassion and happiness to these communal sessions.
We could not have hoped for a better place for my Mum to be. We are truly grateful to the staff and the Management there.

Staff are pleasant, visiting my brother 3 times weekly. If I need care, this will be my first choice. This is the best home I have been to, his care needs are excellent, always clean and this is how a place for care should be.

My late mother was a resident at Heatherdene Nursing Home for ten months. The level of care she was given was outstanding. Heatherdene is an immaculate home with caring staff. There is a daily well thought out entertainment plan and the meals served are of the highest quality. I am grateful and comforted
by the fact that my mother spent her final months at Heatherdene Nursing Home and cannot sing its praises enough.

My husband's aunt moved into Heatherdene about 3 months ago. We reside in Ireland and we recently travelled over to visit her. We were so happy to see how well she looked. The care she has received is exemplary. The care home is spotlessly clean and the staff are kind, welcoming and so professional.
We cannot speak highly enough of them all. My husband's aunt is in good hands and we look forward to many more visits to see her.

The staff were fantastic, very caring and considerate. They could not have done more for my husband while he was in there. He was kept comfortable and very clean while he was there. They showed great compassion at all times.

Heatherdene is a lovely nursing home. The staff are kind and patient and the rooms are spotless.

My mother was a resident at Heatherdene for the past 2 years until she passed away, she suffered from a severe disability and mild dementia she was largely bed-bound and required full care.
In every way, the home has been exemplary. The staff were always professional, welcoming with a warm smile and
willing to have a quick chat if required, they looked after us almost as much as they looked after Mum. We were always informed of any changes in Mum's condition or management.
My mum's room was always fresh, clean and tidy, as was my mum with her hair always clean and brushed, nails varnished.
I could tell that Mum had been involved in many of the activities in the home - even bed-bound as she was. She was even given a small computer tablet to hear the bingo numbers when they played!
I can not praise Heatherdene enough for everything they did for my mum.

I've been in the care sector for over 25 years, initially qualifying as a Cardiac Theatre Nurse in 1994. I joined the Southcare Group in 2002, progressing from a Registered Nurse (RGN) to the Registered Manager of Heatherdene Nursing Home in 2014. I always put the needs of others before my own and strive to make sure residents, staff and their families are all happy. I am passionate about my home, Heatherdene, and leading the way in inter-generational partnerships to improve the lives of our residents and everyone involved.
