Heatherdene Nursing Home is a large Edwardian house located in a quiet residential area of Bexhill-on-Sea on the South Coast.

24-hour care services are offered for all residents. All staff have regular in-house training, NVQ training and attend courses relevant to care of the elderly.

Heatherdene has 27 spacious rooms with a passenger lift. 23 rooms are ensuite (4 rooms with no ensuite). Heatherdene has one dining area, two lounges and an accessible garden. The garden is well maintained with lawn and flowers and a patio area.

The home's catering staff use local produce. There are weekly deliveries of fresh food by the local butcher/greengrocer.

The company believes everyone is entitled to privacy, dignity and respect and staff are made aware that the needs of the residents are paramount.

Visitors are welcome at any time.

Fees are based on the bedroom of your choice.

From the first moment we entered Heatherdene Nursing Home we knew we had found the best possible place for my wife. The home was clean bright and happy, the staff friendly. All the staff quickly knew each member of the family who visited and always made a point of speaking. During my wife’s relatively
short stay she was treated with consideration and care. Unfortunately, she became increasingly poorly and received end of life care. This was given with empathy and great care to ensure that she was comfortable, pain free and peaceful to the end. In addition the support given to family members and to myself at this time, and throughout her stay, was exemplary. My grateful thanks to all staff at Heatherdene Nursing Home.

It was lovely to be able to see my dad over Christmas, especially on Christmas day. All of the staff I encountered where very welcoming and friendly and knew my dad very well. I was especially pleased that I was able to see a video of dad singing carols and enjoying himself at the Christmas celebration
that a kind member of staff had taken. Dad genuinely appreciates what the staff do for him especially the Manager. I stayed with Dad while he ate his Christmas lunch and it looked delicious and he enjoyed it, complete with cracker. I would like to thank all of the staff for what they do to care for dad for the whole of the year. It always seems to me to be a very happy home.

It was in February 2021 that my cousin was put in crisis, because of Covid her existing home had to close. Heatherdene offered her a place, she accepted and was welcomed in. She was so happy to be back in her own area of Sidley. She found she knew some of the staff and residents. She enjoyed her new
bright and airy environment. The staff both day and night were always very attentive. An excellent relationship was built up between management and staff to ensure all went well. The Zoom meetings topped it off!

I think Heatherdene is run extremely well. The management is excellent. The food is of good quality and portions are a good size. My room is comfortable and I feel well looked after.

Friendly, efficient, obliging and Covid precautions adhered to. My stepmother's room is fresh, homely and comfortable with private facilities. The home was prepared for our visit - first in a year because of distance and Covid - to celebrate her 98th birthday. Banners and balloons, a gold coloured plate
for the cake and tea. She looked well cared for and comfortable but she is bedbound and cannot join in activities. They cope well with her moods and slight dementia. She is moved regularly and kept clean. She has even put on weight! So well done and thank you.

My mother entered the nursing home due to increasing frailty and care needs. Unfortunately, she became increasingly poorly and received end of life care. This was given with great care and dignity and my mother was comfortable to the end. Our family were kept informed at all times and were also treated
with great empathy. Cannot praise the home and staff enough.

Having had a wonderful previous experience where my dad was at Heatherdene, my mum is now a new resident here, although her needs are different, immediately the fantastic staff have made her feel safe and welcome. Her room is spotlessly clean, light and spacious, the staff are extremely attentive and
always caring and helpful. It’s very early days for mum and she does get confused because of her dementia, but there’s always a carer around with a kind word and reassurance. I can’t recommend Heatherdene highly enough, from the manager to every member of staff, it really is the best care home around.

My brother-in-law suffered a serious hip injury following a fall and after admission to hospital contracted covid-19. I was so relieved when he was admitted to Heatherdene because he finally received the love and care that he deserved. The team are kind and very caring and they made sure his end of

Very caring and supportive environment. Friendly staff who were extremely caring to my mother who has recently passed away. My sister and I were never worried about how she was being looked after even in the last year when we have been able to visit so infrequently.

My mother spent the last two and a half years in Heatherdene where she was treated with utmost courtesy. All staff were very friendly and very caring taking the time to talk to Mum and to make sure she was comfortable.

I cannot thank the manager and all the staff at Heatherdene Nursing Home enough for the care and support they gave to my mum during her time there, especially during her last few days. Having lived there for over eight years there had been changes but the same excellent service was always there. Nothing
was too much, I was always kept advised on changing circumstances which was very much appreciated. Despite her dementia, I know she really did appreciate all their help although sometimes did not show it. Its been a hard year for you all and you have done so well, take care and stay safe.

Heatherdene Nursing Home is supporting my friend with dignity, care and consideration. My friend has been a service user since January 2020.
Lockdown has been extremely difficult for us all, however being able to chat to my friend via Skype has been helpful.
My friend has told me that the carers
who look after her are very nice. My friend is calm and relaxed. I could not ask for more as I would be unable to offer her this level of care and support.

My niece and myself looked at a lot of homes before we decided on Heatherdene.
We immediately felt the warmth and patience from the Manager and staff there.
When you walk in it feels like a family home, smells and looks very clean.
The Manager and staff have been so kind to my sister, who gets very
upset and frustrated at not being able to walk, talk and move her right arm, following a massive stroke.
We really believe we have done our best for my sister by placing her in this small and personal nursing home.

My husband has been here for a few weeks and I’m very happy with his care, his room, the food and drink provided. The manager is superb, efficient, kind and very hands-on. This is so important. She also has a very good relationship with the staff. My husband is toileted often and kept clean and presentable.
His room is kept clean and presentable. If I have any questions or queries, they are dealt with speedily. All in all, I’m very, very happy.

I've been in the care sector for over 25 years, initially qualifying as a Cardiac Theatre Nurse in 1994. I joined the Southcare Group in 2002, progressing from a Registered Nurse (RGN) to the Registered Manager of Heatherdene Nursing Home in 2014. I always put the needs of others before my own and strive to make sure residents, staff and their families are all happy. I am passionate about my home, Heatherdene, and leading the way in inter-generational partnerships to improve the lives of our residents and everyone involved.
