My brother moved to Aniska Lodge in June 2018 after spending the previous year in another excellent home that could no longer meet his needs. From the very first day, it was clear that Aniska was exactly the place for him. All the staff and managers showed kindness and compassion towards him and took great trouble to maintain communication with me. As my brother's health declined, his needs changed but the staff was always on hand to adapt their activities to suit his new situation. Thank you Aniska for all you did.

Unfortunately, my mother was only at Aniska Lodge for 6 months but in that time she was treated with kindness and compassion. We were able to make her room homely she even had her own curtains.

Quality of care has been excellent for 3 years. Management is once again restored to a high standard. I believe just lack of continuity was an issue for a year or so in this area. It is preferable for new managers to take time before instigating "radical" changes, these slow improvements are good. I could not have been happier. (Unless a park/pub could be built nearby!)

On behalf of my sisters and all our family, I would like to place on record a huge thank you for the way in which everyone at Aniska cared for our mum through her final days. That care was made up of love and a thorough professional caring that ensured mum's dignity and comfort. We are sure that all steps were taken to ensure that mum was never in discomfort or pain. We are also very grateful for the warm and understanding welcome that all her family received from all at Aniska whenever we visited mum.

My mum came to Aniska Lodge from hospital after breaking her hip. She was very well looked after and treated respectfully. Whenever there was an issue I was contacted and involved in any changes to care. My mum had problems with eating and drinking. Everything was done to help find food she could eat. When mum passed away the staff again were so kind. I found all the staff friendly and helpful.

Good rooms, sadly care staff can often not be found and especially at weekends. Heavy accents of staff didn’t always allow my mother to understand what was being said to her. Great outdoor spaces that are very rarely used. Unfortunately, no outings in over 2 years of my mother residing there. Food was always good but no fresh fruit offered. Home always smelt fresh and rooms kept clean. Communication not consistent. Equipment all there. Laundry could improve, often saw my mother in clothes that weren’t hers. Activities provided every day but always the same weekly. Would suggest room visits from activities staff to residents that don’t leave their room to provide some stimulation. The place could be brightened up with smiling staff.

Warm greeting. An offer of a cup of tea and cake, very polite. Clean and no foul smell. Visitors toilet very clean. Residents appear content, music on TV on for them. Good space outside with seats.

My father came to Aniska early July 2017. We did our homework prior to making our decision and visited 12 care homes in the Haywards Heath / Burgess Hill area, we narrowed this down to 4 and pulled off the CQC reports for each one. Looking at care homes is like buying a house, it has to feel right. The moment we walked through the door at Aniska we felt that we had come home, the staff were so welcoming, so friendly, so kind and I'll be honest the home did not smell of urine which is a common problem in so many of the homes that we visited. My father had a number of health and mobility issues plus the onset of a mild dementia but the care he received has been outstanding. There are no time constraints with regards to visiting and we have always been made to feel so welcome and part of their family. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this lovely nursing home.

Mum has been in Aniska since she a massive stroke in 2013. The staff care for her so well. They put on a great party for her 90th birthday making all guests welcome. I feel Mum is very safe and well cared for.

The management and staff are to be congratulated on the ethos of the home. The emphasis on making the residents free and indeed encouraged to feel that this is their home. The welcome one receives when first visiting the home is second to none, being shown around the home. All questions asked are answered beyond our expectations. I feel more than confident that my wife is having the best of care and attention.

My mother has now been at Aniska Lodge for coming on 3 years. In that time she has been well cared for and although she has dementia it is progressing slowly. She always looks clean and well dressed and if anything has improved in health despite being 93. When we visit her which can be at any time, she is always happy. We are always asked if we would like a drink and nothing is any trouble for the staff. If on any occasion she needs a doctor, we always get a phone call from a member of staff to inform us. The home has also had several improvements in communal areas, which has made a big difference. All good.

Aniska Lodge has been a very good nursing home for my mother. My mother was previously in a care home, who were unable to help my mother with her increasing needs.

It was an extremely stressful time with a lot of pressure placed upon myself.

My trust had been severely 'knocked' by the care home situation, but Aniska have been very supportive.

They have listened and communicated with me regularly about changes to my mother in all areas.

They know her and her needs well. They have training sessions for staff, relevant to the requirements of the residents of the residents. They have the medical background and quicker access to doctors, who visit regularly - very important. Everyone is very caring and friendly.

Aniska Lodge has always been friendly and welcoming. They provided high-quality care 24 hours a day. If I needed to speak to anyone I was always able to find someone to help with my concerns. They treated mum with dignity providing her person-centred care needs.

My mother has lived at Aniska for nearly 2 years. After experiencing care in another home which was far from satisfactory, she has become a very happy lady again. The staff are brilliant and very attentive. They are quick to calm anyone who gets upset. Everyone is treated compassionately and with respect. This home has a very friendly feel to it.
