Could not recommend this home enough, absolutely brilliant, professional; friendly staff who have made our visits to our mum who unfortunately is at end of life care more welcoming. They are constantly checking on her and available to us if we ask for anything, so a big thank you for everything you are doing and keep up the great work
The care given to my mother was excellent. The staff were so caring, nothing was too much trouble, they were constantly checking her comfort and provided support to me as well. I cannot thank the team enough for their compassion and kindness, from the housekeeping staff, carers and nurses.
Thank you for your kind words and review. We really appreciate it.
My mother is in Grasmere Nursing Home for end of life care. The staff are all very friendly and extremely caring they look after my mother so well showing compassion and respect, I visit every day and I am always made to feel welcome and greeted with lots of smiles. I could not of wished for a better nursing home for my mum.
Thank you so much for your lovely words Carmel, its always a pleasure having you guys. Such a lovely Family you all are.
My mum came to live at the Grasmere Nursing Home in December 2025. Seven months on, I and my brothers know that this was the right decision for her medically, and that the Home is providing her with the nursing care and love that she needs. I cannot speak too highly of the openness and care the staff always display, and we are always made to feel welcome as visitors. The nursing home is clean, airy and the food wholesome and well cooked.
Thank you Chris for your kind words. We do encourage openness, practice Dignity and kindness for all Residents in their Home. All staff in their induvidual roles, have a part to play in how well the Home runs, and we do have a fantastic Team in all departments. Thank you
Since my mother was admitted 4 weeks ago I have been impressed with the professionalism demonstrated by all staff it is obvious that they are fully invested in the health and well being of the people in their charge. Not only the residents, but the families and friends who come to visit. My family and I have been touched by their kindness and consideration
Thank you so much Clare that is really kind of you, we do our best, and hope that everyone feels very welcome in their relatives Home from Home.
Absolutely brilliant from the position of the nursing home down to all the members of staff and management. I can not find any faults at all and my partner loves the nursing home. If I could I would love to move in if I needed to.
Thank you so much Grahame that is very kind of you, its nice to know that you feel that way, she is an absolute Diamond and we love her very much.
A very sympathetic ending to my husbands life.
Thank you Ruth, it was a privalige for us to have been able to look after your lovely Husband. All the best for you and your Family for the future.
Lovely nursing home with friendly efficient staff always clean and tidy. My mother is very lucky to be here. Very happy with care my mum is receiving.
Thank you very much Peter for your lovely words. Unfortunately Mum is no longer with us, but it was a pleasure looking after her, and always a delight to see you and your Family. All the best from all of us.
Dads room is bright and clean and look's freshly decorated. Staff have been excellent. Home has a very nice garden and the carers take the trouble to get dad outside in a wheelchair. Grasmere has exceeded my expectations.
Thank you for the kind words and for submitting a review. We do our best to make sure everyone is looked after in the way they would want us to.
Grasmere is a lovely nursing home, all the staff are attentive supportive and caring. My dad has been here for 5 weeks and the improvement in his health and socialising is amazing. Thank you all so much.
Thank you Shani for your kind words. Its our pleasure and privelige to look after Him.
Whenever I visit my dad is clean and clean shaven. The staff are very friendly and helpful. His room is always clean but I marked 'satisfactory' as it is very small. I haven't marked food as I have only seen him offered an egg sandwich which I'm sure is due to timing, and he does not go downstairs for activities so I am unaware of any. I would prefer him to go downstairs so he has mental stimulation rather than be left in his room all day. All this said, I am so so grateful that he is in a home where he is looked after and is safe and clean. He seems to like it there and likes most of the staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Dad does not like to go downstairs (as you know) but he does get activities in his room( if he feels like it.)
We are very pleased that our mum is happy in Grasmere Nursing Home. Every time we visit her she tells us:- 'This is my home and I'm very well looked after. I'm not complaining and I'm not going anywhere!' We can she that she is! She is always clean. Her room and bedding is always clean. The room never smells. The staff are very caring and friendly to mom and us when we visit. So we are very happy and don't have to worry. Thank you.
Thank you Lesley , for the kind words and for taking the time to do the review.Mum certainly lets us know everyday that this is her Home, so we won't forget it!
My wife has been in Grasmere for over three years. I have found it to be a safe and caring home. The staff are friendly, approachable and 'listening'. They clearly put residents first. My wife has dementia is settled and content there. My family and I are equally happy and content with the care! They now feel like part of my family!
Thank you that are really kind words, and you are part of our Family too.
I wish I could give higher marks. All the staff are friendly, caring and compassionate.....what more do you want? We all got to know their names and it felt like they are a big happy family. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum feels the cold and one day they had got a big duvet for her, she looked so cosy in it. The rooms are clean and bright and the lounge area is welcoming. The gardens are well maintained and the magnolia tree is just stunning! Mum recently left us, and saying goodbye to the staff was also quite emmotional. Big hugs all round. I am sure we could not have chosen a better place for my wonderful mum.
Thank you for your kind words Judy. We loved looking after your mum, and you are a wonderful family, I'm sure she is very proud of you all.Don't forget to pop in for a coffee and a chat when you in the neighbourhood.
Our nan age 92 had to go into a home straight from hospital as she was end of life.
Grasmere made her stay there very comfortable and attended to her needs with care and dignity even up to the end when she passed.
As we don't live nearby this was very comforting for us knowing she was in the right care.
Main thing we liked is that it is a light and airy home and the room she was given was nice and bright which we know would be what she would choose.
Thank you to you all.
I like how calm it feels upon entering and also very clean.
The staff are always very smiley and friendly making sure my nan's needs were attended to.
Even though my nan was too poorly to do the activities with the activity lady, she had some lovely pictures made for her by another resident which was really thoughtful and it's nice to know they put this on for the residents.
Great team and a well looked after home.
Thank you for caring for my nan and for being with her right till the time of her passing. This was important that she wasn't alone.
Thank you.
All carers are very helpful nothing is too much trouble, are very caring towards my mother and explain every week how my mother is. Mother has been in this care home for a few years now and is very happy.
It was one of the hardest decisions we faced putting Mum into a home, and those first few steps walking into the home. I had to hold back tears, but once in the door all the staff members made us feel so welcome and the home just has such a great warm welcoming feeling. Since that day we haven't looked back, Mum has so well cared for all the staff are so loving and caring and treat my mum with the utmost dignity. They know me and my family so well she is always clean and tidy and has put on weight we can't thank Grasmere Nursing Home.
Grasmere has provided my frail mother with a safe environment for many months. I have been impressed with the care and dedication of all the staff. However, larger homes may benefit from extra facilities/activities.
I feel extremely relieved to have found Grasmere Nursing Home. It’s been three and half years since they took my mother in and the care and kindness she has received there has been superb. I feel that the manager and her team do everything they can, and more to ensure that the residents have the best possible experience of being in care. I think it’s an exceptional place. I hear some terrible stories from my friends about their experiences of their relatives in residential care and am eternally grateful that mine are in Grasmere.
