My friend had to vacate the home after 2and half years ,after it was taken over .she was 100 and had dementia but the reason given was they could not meet her needs any more , the staff when they were allowed were very kind to her ,but management on a whole were never access able, short of caring staff, they always looked tired , but did there best I just hope this new company address the issues raised, and they treat the residents with as much care as they have the new furnishings ..it was such a horrendous day moving my friend from familiar surroundings and people she recognized , every day I moaned about something ,I'm 78 and on most visits I ended up taking her to the loo ,because no one about xx rant over

My Mother was evicted at the age of 100 years old due to the fact we complained to the CQC about regular falls with her having regular bruises on her face and all over her body also fractured back and stitches in her head.
There is not enough staff to look after the people in there was no activities for the people some good staff there but not many.

My Mother has now been moved to another home, hopefully she will getter better care there.

Overall Experience

My mother was in Iceni House {now Swaffham House} for 5 years and sadly passed away in April this year. In that time I made several complaints to management regarding her care, even contacting the CQC. The turnover of staff is awful and there is only a small percentage of staff who really want to be there and actually care. There were several managers there during that time who were all full of promises but nothing changed. I could only rely on a handful of staff to give mum proper care. Kingsley had taken over just before mum passed but I had no support or advice from management as to what the procedure was afterwards. None of the new management team bothered to even speak to me when I went in to collect mums things and they never offered to send a representative to the funeral, which after 5 years I found appalling. After speaking to some members of staff that remain, and that's not many, I despair as to the future if this care home and would never recommend it.

Shane Collier
Shane CollierJob Title Operations Manager

My career began as a Care Assistant and evolved through positions including Home Cook, Deputy Manager, and Registered Manager. This journey has equipped me with a 360-degree insight into care home operations and the needs of both residents and staff.

A significant part of my professional focus has been on supporting and transforming services that require strong leadership, dedication, and a clear improvement strategy. I have successfully turned around homes needing guidance and have also played a central role in commissioning new services. These combined experiences led me to my current role as Operations Manager at Kingsley Healthcare. Since joining the organisation, I have received unwavering support, guidance, and reassurance.

Outside of work, I am a proud parent of three children who keep me active and grounded. Family is incredibly important to me, and we enjoy spending quality time together -especially swimming, with rock climbing a close second on our list of favourite activities.
