My father went to stay at Ambleside Nursing Home from the hospital on end of life care. From the moment I rang to speak to the manager to the day my dad passed away, we received the most excellent care anyone could receive. The staff are amazing, polite and very caring, they gave Dad 7-weeks of the most fantastic care, with his dignity always top of the list. I don't think they could have done anything more to ensure my dad passed away feeling care and love.

My brother came into the home at the beginning of May. I had never been into the home before that and wow it's an amazing home. They've looked after my brother 100% and his family and also have been very informative of his care. All staff are so so kind, no faults whatsoever.

Covid-19 has been hard. I live in Leeds and travelled down to see my dad. He is currently on end of life. The staff have been such a help, supportive and understanding, talking to me, explaining all procedures that were taking place. Truly a great time. Many thanks.

Dad was only in the home for a few weeks for end of life care, at first, I was very worried about what was going to happen. But the staff put me at ease and looked after dad wonderfully he had to have one to one so was never on his own and the staff promised he would be in no pain at the end which he wasn't so I can't thank the staff enough.

My father was referred to Ambleside for end of life care. From the moment we arrived he and we, as family, received exceptional care. They treated Dad with dignity and kindness and kept him safe through his final days. They afforded us lots of time to remain with him day and night and remained bright spirits for all of us throughout. We are grateful for their knowledgeable guidance every step of the way to a peaceful end for Dad.

Although I was unable to visit the home because of the Coronavirus, my sister and her husband seemed quite happy and settled there. The staff was very pleasant and helpful each time I rang and seemed very experienced in their work. Unfortunately, my sister and husband had to move out of Ambleside on 6th April to a residential home as they didn't need nursing care.

The nursing staff at Ambleside are second to none, always pleasant and a smile and a kind word for all the residents, with patience to match and will bend over backwards to help you.
The carers are also a happy bunch of people, trying to keep everybody happy and so forth.

They are always polite and smiling, even when tired, as both carers and nurses work long hours.

My wife suffered from vascular dementia and was sent to a home in April 2018. The family wasn't happy with it so we transferred her to Ambleside, which we found completely satisfactory as they specialised in dementia patients. They looked after her, cared for her and she loved them! The family were delighted at the move.

My dad was transferred to Ambleside from hospital for palliative care. Although his stay was brief before he passed, we have taken much comfort in knowing he was somewhere so welcoming and caring.

All the staff we met could not have done more to make us and dad feel at home and have shown so much compassion.

We cannot thank them enough.

My mum was recently admitted to Ambleside and I am so pleased that we chose this particular Nursing Home. After looking at quite a few, I walked into Ambleside with my son and we both immediately new it was the right place for mum. The location is ideal and close to the town and seafront. Just right for a stroll in the wheelchair in the spring/summer and easy to take mum out for her loved latte' at the local shops, which she enjoys. Ambleside is like a home from home for my mum, I am so happy and relieved that I chose this nursing home. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and you actually feel they are part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble for them, even when they are obviously busy, they still ask if you want a drink as soon as you get there. The care my mum receives is excellent, and I can't praise them enough, dealing with mum and her decline in her dementia. Staff keep informed with all aspects of her care and her physical and mental wellbeing.

My father has recently been having a few problems and is feeling quite unsettled due to a lot of staff changes. However, all the staff have continued to provide support as always. The staff will always contact me if they have any concerns, which I truly appreciate.

My father seems to be more settled and a lot happier.

My mother has been in Ambleside for more than 5 years.
The care she receives is second to none.
She is now bedridden but is treated with affection and respect.
The staff are all polite and happy and this reflects in the service that they provide.
I often pop in at different times and never once have I felt like I was a nuisance.
I am always kept up to date with her moods and medical condition.

I feel so lucky to have found a home like Ambleside and would highly recommend it to anyone.
