I was a resident at Ambleside Nursing Home and I found this place very homely, staff very good. Food very good and appropriate for my preferences. The room was very tidy, towels changed and bed changed daily. I will be more than happy to recommend this place to everybody. Thank you very much for looking after me. Will feel free to come to visit the staff and residents any time.

Mum has spent time at Ambleside on two occasions. The first was for 12 days following a fall in September 2015 and the second time was at her request for care and respite in November/December 2015, whilst my wife and I were on holiday for three weeks.

The care she received on both occasions was second to none and she most certainly felt like one of the Ambleside family. The food care and staff were all excellent. When we visited we always were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Small friendly home. Staff are caring and well motivated nurses made time to discuss end of life care with family. Sensitive, palliative care for my mother with dementia and other health issues.

My mother has lived at Ambleside Nursing Home for 8 1/2 years after having a major stroke in Yorkshire where she lived. We moved her here to be near me and my family as we were told she needed 24 hour nursing care. I have always been pleased and confident with the care she receives in a homely environment. Over the years I have recommended Ambleside several times to others.

Overall Experience

This nursing home is quite exceptional in the care and attention given to residents. The staff are not only highly experienced and qualified but caring and compassionate. It is a hard decision to put your loved one into a home but I can honestly say that this was the best decision we could have made. My mother has been treated with such respect and compassion and I would absolutely without reservation recommend Ambleside Nursing Home as a first choice.

They seemed to help my dad get back on his feet after a very bad UTI. Even though he pressed the a LOT they still came. Food - I felt he had chips quite often? but he did enjoy the food. One sister fought hard with the GP to change his antibiotics. Which was brilliant as they really helped. Furniture in room very dated but rest very clean.
