Meadowbrook House

My uncle was only at Meadowbrook for a few weeks as he came in requiring 'end of life care'. During his short time there the staff made him feel comfortable and showed a high degree of care and attention. The staff were friendly and understanding. The chef went out of her way to find meals that he could eat during his short time there. I witnessed the utmost care in the home, the staff seemed happy and willing to help in any way they could to make his last days as manageable as possible.

Dad has lived at Meadowbrook House since February 2018.

The past week has seen Dad receiving palliative care. I have spent up to eight hours each day at Meadowbrook and have witnessed outstanding care and support.

Firstly and most importantly the care that Dad receives is professional, considerate, friendly and always delivered with a smile and patience. Dad is happy and content and is made to be as comfortable as possible.

Secondly, the support that my family and I have received has been incredible! I could not have got through this past week without them. I will be eternally grateful to every one of them for this.

Throughout the week, I have witnessed fantastic care for all the other residents to the same standard as my Dad. The home has a lovely positive energy and drives to deliver the best care possible.

Thank you so much Meadowbrook team for your outstanding care and support! You should be very proud of yourselves. Just brilliant!

I would thoroughly recommend Meadowbrook for respite/long-term care.

My husband, who has MS spent a few weeks respite in Meadowbrook House. The care and kindness of the staff and management to caretaker is impressive. Time is taken to chat to residents, they are all known by name and their personal requirements understood.

I would be very disappointed if I was unable to make arrangements for my husband to stay there in the future.

This was the first time my mother, suffering from Lewy Body dementia, had been for respite care. I was worried that she wouldn't settle but within a couple of days she was very comfortable and happy in her new surroundings. All the staff I encountered were first-class; friendly, approachable and cheerful. I called in at random times and always found things as they should be. Meadowbrook is in the process of upgrading and is very much a work in progress at this time but I have no hesitation in recommending the place. I am hoping my mother can spend future respite weeks there. It's a happy place.
