Windmill Court is located in the Cornish village of St Minver and is close to Polzeath and Wadebridge town centre. Local shops, library, hairdressers, pharmacy and post office are all within a short driving distance.

This purpose built care home provides care for the elderly offering a wide range of care and nursing.

Accommodation is provided for 34 residents in single occupancy rooms. All rooms come tastefully furnished and residents are welcome to bring their own furniture to add a homely and familiar touch.

The home is equipped with all the usual facilities – a 24 hour intercom nurse call system, televisions and telephone points in every room. The home also contains en-suite toilet facilities, bathing aids, assisted shower and well equipped laundry services.

The main building is bright and airy with large windows, providing views of the gardens and rural landscape beyond. The spacious dining room is surrounded by a leafy courtyard and a spacious lounge that has comfortable seating. The home also has an on-site hairdressing salon, a sunny conservatory and a secluded patio area.

Visitors are welcome at all times but staff kindly ask if meal times could be avoided.

The home has a well maintained garden and a secluded patio area for residents to enjoy during summer months. There is also a large car park, which can accommodate up to 20 cars.

It was a very hard decision to move Mum into a nursing home after caring for her in her own home and in my home, but it was the best decision we made. So much better for her and the home and its staff far exceeded our expectations. She stayed there for over a year needing 24 hour care until she peacefully
passed away in July. From the managers to the cleaners, the staff were compassionate, caring, kind, gentle, respectful and professional at all times, always putting the needs of the residents as a priority and nothing was too much trouble. The home is so clean, fresh and welcoming, the food is amazing, fresh, healthy and home cooked. We have nothing but praise and gratitude to Windmill Court and their handling of end of life care made it so much easier for us at a very difficult time. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home as a wonderful place to look after your loved ones or indeed a place to spend your golden years.

Mum spent just under 7 months at Windmill Court until her death in July 2020. We were very fortunate to find her a room here as this home is renowned as being one of the very best in Cornwall, and this did certainly prove to be the case. She was very happy during her stay and insistent that she would
not move anywhere else. All the staff at Windmill Court were very kind and made her feel at home. The food was of very high quality and while she was able to eat, she always enjoyed her meals. Our sincere thanks go to everyone working here and to the local management for their compassion and thoughtfulness in assessing the needs of each individual.

My Mum had a fall in late winter 2020 and went downhill over the following weeks, losing weight and losing mobility. The Covid-19 lockdown struck just when she needed care most, I was lucky to find her a place at Windmill Court for respite care: During her stay staff were caring, welcoming and understanding,
they encouraged her to eat better, regain her mobility and generally start enjoying plenty of chats again.
Despite the appalling comments of PM Johnson about care homes and care workers I have to say that the home was incredibly well managed and the whole staff worked hard to cover the shifts of other carers who were on sick leave; some went beyond the call of duty, left their families and moved into the home in order to reduce the risk of the virus infecting patients. PPE rationing affected the home in the early weeks but management found new systems to reduce infection risk to the minimum. Not only were Mr Johnson's comments wrong, they were insulting. Thank you Windmill Court!

There is a lovely atmosphere in the home and it is kept spotlessly clean, the staff are caring and treat everyone with respect, there is a lovely big garden where I take my husband in his wheelchair. There are numerous activities to keep the residents entertained and stimulated and I would really recommend

Dad was only in the home for one week before he did.
The care he received from every single member of staff was faultless. They all showed great kindness, compassion, respect and dignity. The physical nursing care was excellent (as a retired nurse I looked for detail).
His death was peaceful and I
felt everything possible was done for him.
The home is clean, warm with a very positive feel.

My mum has been resident at Windmill Court now for 12 months. She is safe, secure and happy. She has made friends and takes part in most activities. Her quality of life has been improved immensely following the death of her husband, my father. Thank you all at Windmill Court.

Our mum has been extremely well looked after for the past three and a half years. The staff go beyond their duties to maintain high standards. The atmosphere is very friendly, we can visit at anytime.
We even enjoyed a birthday tea with close family to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday at this home.

The first time I have ever given top marks in every department. Standards throughout every facet of Windmill Court are exceptionally high. In sporting language, this is a crew with stars in every position. A visitor of mine observed "What a lovely atmosphere... and such happy staff". Another friend
said, "You can tell the quality of a hotel as soon as you walk through the door". That is so true here! My friend was a real gentleman, the top hotel guide in the UK.

My mother spent the last few months of her life at Windmill Court care home. Whilst there she received nothing but kindness and love. The staff went to great lengths to care for her, nothing was too much trouble. The home was always clean and immaculate and the food was excellent. A faultless experience.

Our mother has been here for 10 weeks. Quality of care at Windmill Court is mostly excellent. The home is filled with good staff who strive to provide the best care they can. The atmosphere is friendly with open visiting hours. The food is excellent. Friends and relatives can eat with residents in the
pleasant dining area for a nominal charge. Surroundings are pleasant, the rooms adequate, and the home is kept clean ventilated and odour free. It is encouraging to see staff actively working to make improvements, and open to suggestions. They have recently been making efforts to improve socialising of residents, and activities. Management is supportive to staff and easily accessible to relatives. A regular meeting lets residents and relatives raise issues directly with the manager. Small specific requests regarding our mother’s care have been attended to promptly. Medications are well managed, as is laundry. The staff treat residents, and relatives, with dignity and compassion.

My dad was only in the home for 7 weeks after spending 2 1/2 months in the hospital. The care and love he received was above and beyond. He was kept clean and smartly dressed all the time, which was very important to him. At the end of his life, although unable to communicate, these standards continued!
His pain management and attention he had was wonderful to see. The care and love also extended to me during his time there. I can not thank them enough - you have a brilliant team here.

My Father entered the care home for palliative care approaching the end of his life, and I cannot thank the sheer commitment of the nursing team enough to follow through his personal needs. My father's condition meant hospital visits three times a week for dialysis care and the team ensured that he
received the treatment according to his wishes to prolong his life until he was ready to pass. I will always remember the compassionate care that he received until the end and words cannot express my gratitude.
