Bramble Down Nursing Home

We loved the place. Mum felt totally safe there. The staff were kind, friendly and good natured. Real effort was made to personalise Mums room.

My mother was in Bramble Down for a few months after her stroke, until her death in January. All the staff I met were always courteous, friendly and helpful. They engaged with and cared for mum very well, especially given the circumstances of the pandemic and staff shortages. Staff made her room more homely by putting her personal items around it. When talking to staff it was evident that they had taken the time to read mum's personal information so that they knew about her background. I would recommend Bramble Down to other relatives looking to place their loved one in nursing care.

From the moment I first contacted Bramble Down, I knew my father-in-law was going to be well looked after. I had an initial contact with a memeber of staff who was incredibly efficient and enabled me to bring over a few personal belongings to help make his room feel more homely. She explained what the protocols of the nursing home was which really helped me understand what they needed from us as a family. From the moment he checked in, we were communicated with excellently by the nurses to let us know how he was settling in, any different treatments he needed and they even facetimed us off their own phones to enable our five-year-old to see him and have a chat on a number of occasions. Come the end we were called to let know we needed to come to see him and were able to stay with him all day and through the evening until the end. We thank the manager and all the wonderful nurses and staff at this lovely home. We are truly blessed that he spent his final weeks in your care.

Everyone at Bramble Down is kind and caring to the residents, friendly and chatty to visitors. I know that my husband is well looked after. My husband has been with them for some years so they are like family and if I have any queries they always are ready to talk to me in spite of how busy they are.

So I rang the call button and pressed assistance, I lay there for 30 minutes without a response. I then pressed the Emergency button, nothing happened for over 10 minutes. After a total of 40 mins plus two nurses arrived and helped me up. Not acceptable.

Always found the staff and management very friendly and efficient in what have been difficult and challenging times. My mother has been very well cared for and looked after which has been a great comfort to the family.

I have only visited my wife in her room due to her condition. Due to Covid-19 restrictions visiting time is limited but worthwhile. My wife is bedridden and I have not seen any other aspects of the nursing home. I have found the staff very polite and understanding.

A very caring and supportive community and very responsive to needs.

I have no reservations in recommending this wonderful home. Thank you for all you did for my wonderful mum.

I have just spent three weeks in this nursing home. Cannot think of one bad thing to say about this home. Nothing is too much for the staff and I would highly recommend this nursing home to anybody.

So far the experience for my mother under very tough circumstances has been excellent and amazing. Everyone has been so caring and thoughtful and attentive to our needs as relatives but most importantly to my mother's needs.

Staff give you all the help you need in washing and bathing and meal times. The entire home is first class.

My father received exceptional care at Bramble Down during the last 8 months of his life, for which our family will always be incredibly grateful. All the staff cared for him with the utmost kindness, respect and dignity. They also took great care to support my mother during this very difficult time and made our whole family feel welcome and supported during our visits. We could not have asked for more.

Good food.

The friendliness of this establishment was shown within minutes of our meeting and being shown around by a staff nurse. Everyone smiled whom we encountered as my family walked around. Every care and consideration was given to my husband to help him settle in. The ongoing care is noticeable. This applies to all levels of staff. I have never come across a nursing home or residential home like it. Bramble Down Nursing Home is exceptional!

I have visited my wife at Bramble Down six afternoons a week for over five years. The home is well-equipped plus an exceptionally high number of staff; staff training sessions are a regular occurrence. My wife’s care benefits from the flexibility and friendship among the staff who are observant, caring, compassionate, attentive and affectionate towards her. This ethos spreads throughout the Home including the domestic, kitchen and maintenance staff.

They don’t have a cook at Bramble Down they have a “Chef”. The food is excellent both in quality and variety; a criticism might be that unless you say, the portions can be too large. One of the few pleasures left to my wife is her cake in the afternoon.

The everyday Activities are both innovative and varied thanks to the unflagging exuberance and ingenuity of the dedicated Activities Co-ordinator. My wife also enjoys the varied entertainers that visit the Home each week.

I know that when I go home at night my wife is in safe caring hands.

My mother requires the input of experienced nurses and carers to manage her condition. The staff at Bramble Down Nursing Home are able to provide her with excellent care and in my opinion, have prevented hospital admissions. She is treated with thoughtfulness and dignity. The food is good and staff ensure mum is in a comfortable position to eat it. The home is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Mum is encouraged gently to help herself as much as possible and join in with activities of she wishes. We are very happy with this nursing home.

My father has just become a resident of Bramble Down Nursing Home and early impressions are very good. The staff appear helpful and friendly and are keen to promote a homely atmosphere. Even the smallest detail has been considered to make living at the home as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The family are treated as part of the community too and the friendly hospitality is extended to them also.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Bramble Down Nursing Home for the exemplary care given to my mum and support and compassion given to me and my family.

We felt part of a family and actually miss coming to the home and interacting with the staff.
