I enjoyed a month's respite whilst my family were away. I had a beautiful quiet sunny room in the area called The Coach House with an ensuite wet room. I enjoyed the companionship of the different staff and having my hair done. I felt the staff all seemed to get on well and were happy.
I was told
everyday want activities were on but tended to stay in my room with lots of visitors coming to see me.
I will certainly look to return when I need respite again

Our lovely mum has been a resident in Plymbridge House Care Home for about 8 months now and has settled well. It was a very difficult decision to make, relinquishing our caring role but a necessary one.
The home is a happy place and the staff wonderful, caring and compassionate. It is very busy at
times but the staff are available and communication is excellent.
We leave after a visit, feeling content that mum is looked after well and her care needs are met.
There is so much to say about Plymbridge House, but the little things such as a chat, readily available tea, coffee, cake, treats for residents (sometimes for the visitor), mum's little dog Meg able to visit and of course the inclusive activities lovely Geri provides all make it a special place.
This has helped our mum to settle surprisingly quicker than we thought and ourselves to feel part of the 'bigger' family and a home.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Plymbridge HouseThank you so much for your positive review of your experience to date of Plymbridge House. As a family run company we are delighted to hear you feel part of the Plymbridge family.

My mother-in-law spent 16 months at Brambledown, before she sadly passed away in March. This place is a wonderful, peaceful home, filled with warmth, a welcoming atmosphere and joy. We cannot thank all the staff enough for their care of my mother-in-law. Brambledown is very special. The staff are wonderful.
The time, patience, consideration and sheer hard work, they all collectively put in to the care given, is second to none.
During our family members time there, we
attended a mothers day gathering, Christmas parties, the summer fĂªte, and a wonderful ball. The staff put so much
effort in to creating special times and
activities, to enhance the days of all their
residents. We were so impressed with
Brambledown and grateful for the
wonderful care and time, given to my
mother-in-law. So many of the staff bring their own kind of magic to this place every day. Our family member was very happy there and became very much part of the family and community, that Brambledown is.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Bramble Down Nursing HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt review of your mother-in-law and families positive experience of Bramble Down Nursing Home.

When Mum arrived at Parklands in Dec 24 she was wheelchair bound and had made the huge decision to move into care and sell her home of 57 years. Mum has settled in wonderfully with the help of some wonderful and caring staff who understand her needs which are mostly physical. They have encouraged
Mum to walk again and now with help she can walk short distances on her frame. The main reason we and Mum like Parklands is the variety of activities and spaciousness of the Lounge and dinning areas. The activities staff have been so creative and there is always something for Mum to join in. There are also outings on occasions. The garden is lovely. The only less favourable comment I would make is that several key members of the care and activity team have left recently. However many members of the care and activity team are exceptionally experienced, dedicated, and kind.
Reply from Felicity Shaw, Business Support Manager at Parkland HouseThank you for your review of Parkland House. Its great to hear how our care team have assisted your mum with her walking. We are also glad to hear she enjoy all our fun activities at Parkland House and we have many more activities and events planned throughout the rest of the year which we hope she will enjoy.

My mother has been at Parkland House for 3.5 years and gradually integrated into the environment. She seems happy & jokes around with the staff who treat her with dignity and respect. The care is of the highest quality. Parkland often arrange a variety of entertainment for the residents to keep things
interactive. The residents are given regular food and drinks and the staff are very friendly whenever I visit the home.

Mum became a resident 8 months ago, in an anxious state, having become overwhelmed with living alone and trying to run her house. Her confidence was low and she was angry and frustrated.
The staff at Parkland house scooped her into their arms and welcomed her into their family. They were patient,
and listened to Mums and our wishes, putting into place simple things that helped her adjust, like only having a female carer at night time.
She took a few months to settle, during which she learnt everyone's names and got used to her room and the home practices. She turned a significant corner in her adjustment to her independence after about 4 months, which was great to see.
This was all ably supported by the staff, who have, and continue to take great care of her. They provide such an enormous sense of relief to my Sister and I, regularly keeping us informed and checking in, even though they are very busy!
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Parkland HouseThank you for your review of Parkland House. I'm sure it will reassure many individuals and families when selecting a home of your mum's positive experience.

My uncle was warmly welcomed into Bramble Down when he arrived , at that time with rapidly developing mild dementia.
From this point to his passing my uncle was cared and looked after like a family member.
He was was treated with warmth, love and respect and compassion right till his passing, with
complete dignity.
I know my uncle was complicated and time consuming and complex as his illness devastated him, but at no point did he get treated anything but with professional dedication and respect, which I always observed.
He loved it there, to staff, to food and to be able to leave and have days out with me, it ment the world to him and me.
This care home, is a home from home, with on-site home cooked meals, to dedicated professionals delivering real caring care, my wife is a self employed sole carer delivering care in the community and she has stated that this is top rated care.
So any one needing any recommendations, please visit and sample, this place delivers for our loved ones

My Wife was in Bramble Down Nursing Home, four weeks under palliative care, I cannot praise them enough for her treatment towards her and to me and my family during our frequent visits. She passed away in her sleep and they took good care of her and us until the Funeral directors came. Our last visit
found her ready for her next journey to be with her parents and lost loved ones. A beautiful and attentive Nursing home and staff. All of them.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Bramble Down Nursing HomeThank you for your heartfelt review of Bramble Down Nursing Home which will help others looking for nursing and palliative care. We send our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Mum has been at PH a year now. She trusts us fully to help her with decision making as she has dementia but knows we have her care and comfort uppermost in our priorities.
From the second I walked in for a show around I felt sure this was the place for mum. It's such a hard decision to make but mum
has been settled right from the start. She has a lovely relationship with the staff and they embrace her fun banter. She is treated with respect, kindness and dignity.
Mum has a lot of care needs and is becoming quite frail.
Mums room is in the old part of the building so a little dated but it is kept warm and always clean. As she says, for her, it's about the people.
She is recovering from a chest infection so been sleepy this week. I live away from Plymouth so visit for a week at a time. Always sad to leave. A kind "peace of mind"call from one of the lead carers as I left on the train today from Vicky to say mum was perky and had a good breakfast. Above and beyond. Thank you team PH x
