My mother has been a resident of this home for aproimatly 9 months. She suffers from blindness and dementia. She can sometimes be very difficult and confused.
In my opinion the care she has received has been exemplary, the staff all deserve medals.
When visiting the staff are caring polite, friendly
and professional. Showing nothing but care and patience with their residents.
The activities are made to be fun and all inclusive, and they go out of their way to make the residents happy, praising them when they do well, and generally making them feel wanted.
Choosing a home can be a very difficult experience for both your relative and yourself, we as a family found the process emotional but eased by the way we and mum were and still are treated from the start. Great job guys.
A little bit more expensive than some but in our opinion well worth the money for the experiences that we and mum have had, at what is a very difficult time of life to come to terms with.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Plymbridge HouseThank you so much for your heartfelt review. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that your mother feels cared for, included and supported, and that your family's experience has been positive during such an emotional journey. My aunt has been a permanent resident at Plymbridge House since August 2025.
It can be a difficult transition giving up independent living to move into a care home, but staff at Plymbridge have made my Aunt feel safe, welcome and well cared for. They are always very kind, helpful and attentive and,
despite the fact that my Aunt's needs are sometimes quite complex, nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you to everyone at the home.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Plymbridge HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recognise the decision to move into a care home is big and so pleased your aunt is benefiting from our teams care and attention.

The staff are Amazing !!
Not just the medical care,
every single member of staff in the home, from the cleaners, laundry, kitchen and admin.they are all so kind, caring and very special people, nothing is too much for any of them
I don't call this a care home I call it my dads home

When Mum first arrived she was overwhelmed and uncertain. From our initial visit we were confident she would be well looked after and safe in her surroundings. With gentle encouragement and kindness from her carers Mum became settled. She was treated with dignity and was well cared for. There was always
humour to brighten her days, the carers would laugh with Mum but never at her. She was always treated with respect and very much an individual by recognising her strengths and needs. There was always a variety of activities to participate in which Mum thoroughly enjoyed. Music being played helped evoke memories. As visiting family we were always made to feel welcome. Although always busy with residents time was taken to answer any questions and concerns we may have had. When Mum deteriorated every effort was made to make her comfortable and ensure she had all she needed. She was lovingly looked after at Parkland and we are grateful for their kindness and compassion in her final days.
Reply from Louise Arnold, Managing Director at Parkland HouseThank you for your kind and heartfelt review of Parkland House. We're honoured to have cared for your mum and are so pleased she was treated with dignity, warmth and compassion throughout her time with us. Our thoughts are with you and your family, and I will share your lovely words with the team.

Mum sadly had to go in to a care home in December 2025. What a tough decision of where to take her to live. Such a difficult time for all of us but especially mum who wasn't able to make any decisions for herself. So much pressure for us as a family to make the right choices. Cornerways have been amazing.
Helping us all to make this huge transition. The communication has been fantastic. Their care for mum amazing. And they are doing their best to make us all feel at home as much as is possible during this difficult time. A massive thank you to you all. I would definitely recommend this caring home and amazing staff to anyone looking for a care home. Especially for those with levels of dementia that means they sadly aren't safe to be in their own home. Thank you.

New management from the latter half of 2025 has been a breath of fresh air and has brought new life to Coppelia House. There has been a marked improvement in many areas, from care standards and staff positivity to homely improvements around the building and also there is a clearer sense of community
amongst the residents. Keep up the good work!

My wife has been a resident for 9 months during 2025. During her stay the condition has deteriorated but the care she has received has been excellent. The carers have always treated her with dignity, courtesy, compassion, patience and with great professionalism sometimes during extreme stressful events.
Whenever
I have had to discuss my concerns about my wife's health and the treatment prescribed by the medical professionals the staff at Cornerways have always been available to provide answers and help to understand the issues.
Access.to Cornerways is available for families 24 / 7 and visitors are always made to feel very welcome. Visitors are always offered beverages and snacks during the regular rounds by the carers for the residents.
Family members can join their relatives for meals.
The bedroom and en-suit are always clean and well managed.
There are various daily activities for the residents.and periodically there are trips by coach to outside activities.

My father-in-law is currently residing at Coppelia and is thoroughly enjoying his experience. I have observed firsthand the excellent care provided by the staff and believe the current management is doing a commendable job in maintaining the home's efficient operation. Bramble Down Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother moved to Bramble Down when it was clear that she needed more than the previous residential care home could offer.
The staff at Bramble Down were all brilliant with her, taking the time to get to know her and working positively with her quirks. Their support and their welcome to us, her visitors,
were also always first class.
Through her last few months, a time of troubling deterioration, my mother was always treated with dignity and respect. If she declined basic care, staff would patiently return later - and later again if needed - to ensure that, sooner or later, they were able to provide what she needed.
The nursing team worked closely with Mum and us, her immediate family, to ensure they knew her wishes in terms of preferred levels of intervention and treatment.
Bramble Down made a difficult, one-way journey as comfortable and calm as it could be.

My father went into Plymbridge House, Plympton, for respite, July - September. Sadly, he became ill after some falls. He passed away in a palliative unit at a hospital in Plymouth. He died of Sepsis. His care in that short time in Plymbridge House was very good, and Dad settled there quickly. He loved
the staff, who were always so kind.
