I have worked in the care sector since 2003, and as a registered manager of care homes since 2007.
After an early career in human resources, I wanted to pursue a more meaningful career path, so I studied for a degree in social science with psychology. On graduation, I worked first in the care sector supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism and then in nursing care or homes for older adults.
Having grown up with a close relationship with my grandparents, I’ve always felt a natural affinity with the older generation. Additionally, my mother-in-law’s dementia journey inspired me to enable excellent care and the ability to live life with dementia to the fullest.
I value the privilege of being part of people’s journey at a time when they are most in need, and take pride in working alongside the committed team at Deer Park Nursing Home, who are so sincerely compassionate and dedicated in their roles.
I have worked as a home manager in the private sector as well as with the NHS, having started out as a healthcare assistant before qualifying as a nurse.
I was originally attracted to dementia care because I had personal experience caring for family members living with dementia, and I am very passionate about this area of nursing
I particularly enjoy building a rapport with the residents and their family members, creating a trusting relationship in order to enhance the lives of the people we care for.
I joined Deer Park Nursing Home with over 20 years of experience in critical care nursing behind me.
My time in ICU has taught me the importance of precision, resilience, and compassionate care under pressure - skills I now channel into creating a calm, supportive environment for residents in long-term care.
Nursing is a family tradition for me, and I am passionate about providing high-quality care.
I have spent over two decades working in health and social care, including as a hospice nurse and as a gastro nurse in a large hospital. My diverse experience enables me to contribute effectively to the support of our residents as well as to their families, friends, and carers.
I’ve been a nurse since 1983, serving across NHS specialities and in military deployments to conflict zones abroad. Throughout my career, I’ve always believed that the most vulnerable in our society deserve a voice, protection, and the freedom to live full and joyful lives.
I’m deeply passionate about advocating for people with mental or physical disabilities, and I find real purpose working alongside care home staff who share that same commitment. I thrive in positive environments and love being around people who bring joy to our residents.
As an experienced registered nurse, I have dedicated my career to providing compassionate, high-quality care to residents, particularly those living with dementia in nursing home settings.
I chose to join Deer Park because Camelot Care’s family-owned values and commitment to outstanding dementia and end-of-life care deeply resonate with my own passion for supporting residents and their families during the most vulnerable stages of life.
My nursing career has been shaped by a deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults, especially those living with cognitive challenges, and I have spent the last 15 years working in geriatric and dementia care.
I believe that every individual deserves dignity, empathy, and personalised care - values I bring to every shift and every interaction. It is my mission to enhance opportunities and life experience for all those that I care for.
