We had a care review for my dad. The review was detailed, efficient and organised as well as being caring and personalised. We shared some concerns that we had mainly related to hearing issues, we were listened to and together with the home were able.to work out some solutions. We dilscussed something
dad would love to do and suggestions were made and we have confidence that they will be implented.
Generally the home is in a wonderful natural setting with the lake as well as the opportunity to take dad to the on site coffee shop.

My mum has been at Kenwith Castle for nearly 4 years and I can't praise the staff and facilities enough. She has thrived under their care and support. Everyone is respectful and treats her with the care you would want your loved one to receive. The facilities are beautiful and kept well decorated with

My Mother in Law, Wendy, has been residing in Kenwith Castle since May of this year (2025) and she has really come on so well in that time. When she arrived, Wendy was quite poorly but with the superb care and support from the management team and care staff, she is now in a much better place, health
wise. This was made even better last month, when Wendy was taken to Northam pool for a swim session (along with Jo and another senior carer). Before getting poorly, Wendy would go to the gym and the pool with her friends, about three times a week, so this was very familiar for her and her spirits were raised, not just that day but Wendy still talks about it to this day! Thank you so much to the care team for giving Wendy this opportunity and hopefully it can be made a regular outing for her in 2026. I cannot recommend Kenwith Castle Care enough.

My stay at Kenwith Castle was most pleasant. The staff were all kind and caring, and the food was very good, even if the portions were small. The activities were most enjoyable, especially the minibus trips. It was unfortunate that we were not allowed outside to sit in the sun because of the scaffolding
work.
My health has improved due to the company of staff and residents.

At first it seemed overwhelming but as soon as I entered the front door the down to earth welcome and knowledge of my wants and needs by every attendant from the off made me feel at ease and welcome the care from that moment was beyond excellent both in respect of cleanliness food and activities. I
was not pushed into any event that I did not want and was helped to choose anything available at will. Building was great.

My Queenie, has been at Kenworth Castle for the last 6 weeks, From day one, the staff have shown such genuine warmth and compassion, taking the time to learn her routines and what makes Pam happy. The activity program is fantastic; Pam has been enjoying clubs, music and even quiz night every Friday
at the bar, in this beautiful estate and the regular community events are a wonderful way to bring residents and families together. The food is excellent, with plenty of variety, and the home itself is always spotless. It's reassuring to know Pam is in such a caring and safe environment where she is treated with dignity and respect Lovely place, great staff, very welcoming!

I am Power of Attorney for my good friend of many years. Unfortunately her health has deteriorated over the last 6 months and we had to make the decision to find a care home for her. I am so glad we chose Kenwith. It is a wonderful home. The care is exceptional. Nothing is to much trouble. The staff
work long hours but they are always cheerful and compassionate. The manager is amazing and her office door is always open if you have any concerns. Kenwith Castle deserves full marks for all aspects of care..

My experience with Kenwith castle has been excellent. The care team go above and beyond to meet the needs of my loved one. She is always treated with dignity and respect and is treated as an individual. I have spoken with staff and they are always willing to help. They are very professional caring
people. The staff have said to me that it's not like coming to work it's their home from home. Always lots of activities and outings . My cousin has a shower or bath at any time of the day that she wishes. The food is amazing . I regularly join my cousin for lunch at Kenwith and the food is all freshly cooked on the premises and is of a high standard . Food is always pipping hot . The cleanliness of the home is outstanding never no foul smells when I visit compared to other homes I have visited . The management are very understanding and helpful should you have any questions. This is a home that puts the residents first in every aspect. This is down to the fantastic team at Kenwith Castle

Kenwith is an amazing care home. It could not be better. My mum has received expert care at a time in her life when she really needs sensitive care and attention.
All the staff are extremely supportive of our whole family at this difficult time, and are always there for a hug if I need it too!
We
are kept informed of Mum's health needs and we work together to navigate the complex care systems in place!
We have all built lovely relationships with the staff, and Kenwith really does feel like at home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.798)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.798) out of 10 for Kenwith Castle Country House Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.798 for Kenwith Castle Country House Care is calculated as follows: ( (246 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 307 Ratings = 4.798
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenwith Castle Country House Care is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
