Review of Fairlawn from Phil S (Brother of Resident) published on 13 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
From the time of our arrival my brother was treated with the upmost care and consideration. All staff were sympathetic and understanding of my brothers condition and dealt with all of his physical disabilities in a very professional manner. The manager spent time to familiarise my brother of what he could expect. Overall I was surprised and delighted with the service we received.

I inspected the on suite bathroom, which was spotless as were the necessary towels.

Reply from Rachel Wood, Head of Customer Relations at Fairlawn

Review of Fairlawn from Sue I (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We moved my mum here from another home. The staff were really welcoming and helpful . Checking on all mum needs to make this transition as smooth as possible . In this extremely hot weather, staff were serving up fresh watermelon , orange, ice creams and lots of cold drinks encouraging the residents to drink. The home smells really fresh and clean . there are lots of activities to join in each week. Lovely garden to sit and chat or relax .Mum has put on a small amount of weight which is good she's been eating more. The food is freshly cooked and there is a good variety to choose from.

The manages door is always open and is happy to listen to any suggestions ,problems or concerns. These are all noted and discussed. I have every confidence with the staff. We also had a discussion of mums and our wishes for , if mum was to pass away. This was lovely because everyone will know what to do when the time comes, which gives peace of mind .

Always a pleasure to visit dad the staff are always very friendly and we have got to know them very well & enjoy a good laugh with them. The activities are varied and its fun to join in with them, the home is kept up to date with Wimbledon or the World Cup with bunting and decorations. I have also been very impressed in the "very hot weather" how good the staff are keeping the residents hydrated & the visitors.

Review of Dorset House from Angela W (Friend of Resident) published on 10 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I have found no problems with the care home since my friend has come to live there. Lots of residents which is perfect for her being a people watcher! Very clean everywhere, friendly staff, excellent food apparently according to Brenda which is always available and we as visitors every week are always offered a drink or a bite to eat..very tempting when the tea cake tray is displayed! She has a lovely room, we can tell she is well looked after, never seen her looking this good as she has neglected herself in the past. Hard job working in care so highly commend the staff. Thank you so much, we feel very relieved that she at last is happy in her last home.

The staff are wonderful, and nothing is too much trouble for them. All the care team are very friendly and professional, and no matter how busy they are always make time for a chat with families and residents. The Housekeeping team are also excellent. Food is great, First class, and the activities team are fantastic. Basically, it's a very happy home with nice people around, and as a family we couldn't wish for a better place for dad to live.

Review of Elizabeth House from Catherine S (Sister of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My brother was only a resident in Elizabeth House for a short time. In the time he was resident he was very well looked after and supported. Sadly my Brother's needs were too much for the care Elizabeth House could provide as his confusion and aggression became worse. We chose Elizabeth House as it was homely and had activities which my brother would have enjoyed. We thank all at Elizabeth House for the care and support we all had.

Review of Castle Dene from Andrew C (Husband of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

1. I commend senior carer (K) for her professionalism, kindness & skill in helping to care for my wife (who has advanced dementia) during a Health Service Clinic appointment. We could not have managed without her.
2. I also commend the Deputy Manager (KW) for her emotional sensitivity & insight esp in the early months when I was still recovering from caring for my wife at home.

3. Obvious improvements to the Home over the past year since the present manager (LR) has been in post

Review of Beauchamp Country House Care from Chris T (Husband of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My wife was admitted to Beauchamp House on a Saturday under palliative care from hospital. I was concerned she was being moved from a hospital environment to somewhere that to me was the unknown . Well I didn't need to worry. The care she received was exemplary. From the minute she entered the building the support she received was first class.
All the staff were fantastic and the help that my wife and I received was faultless right to the end when she passed away. A supermassive hole has been left with my wife passing but the home were always there even inviting me back and my family for a chat and a cup of tea.
The gardens are beautiful, and the wildlife is amazing. My wife loved nature and sitting in the gardens watching the resident peacocks was something I will always remember.
For me the home is highly recommended, words alone cannot describe how wonderful the home is.

Thankyou to all the staff

Review of Wickmeads from M M (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Both our parents came for two weeks respite care due to Dad getting frail and having falls. Dad has Parkinsonism and arthritis, mum has mid level dementia and struggling with cooking meals now. The aim of the respite was to get their strength back up whilst family carers were on holiday and to allow a care package to be put in place for their return home. This was achieved.
The Wickmeads venue is in a lovely setting, smart, spacious, but homely and well maintained.
But above all this is the very friendly, caring and professional team of staff. From the manager, office staff, medical contacts, care team, kitchen team to housekeeping, all were kind and very helpful to our parents and us. We organised a physio and foot care professional to come in and they were able to engage well with the staff team and the staff then encouraged our father to do his physio daily. Mum enjoyed the activities and a hair salon treatment and a performance of Romeo & Juliet in the garden.

We highly recommend!

Review of Wickmeads from Jacqui V (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

We were lucky to get two adjoining rooms for 2 weeks respite care for our parents (frail Dad, Mum with mild Dementia). Worth every penny, always plenty of lovely staff bar 1 weekend evening where staff were prioritising residents not tidying plates, cups etc. It was a relief to know they were having 3 meals and their medication and where safe in the heatwave. It was easy to book in our foot care lady and seniors physio and staff were brilliant at helping Dad with daily physio inbetween. Lovely activities that Dad refused to engage with so he said was bored! But he enjoyed the food, especially cooked breakfast. It was lovely to have them close for 2 weeks and be able to visit more often (they live 1.5 hours away normally) for delicious coffee, sit in the garden or take them out for trips without wearing ourselves out with their shopping, cleaning, cooking etc. It also gave our older sister a much needed break. Nothing was too much trouble, newspapers organised, signed into local GP etc.

Reply from Rachel Wood, Head of Customer Relations at Wickmeads

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. Review of Castle Dene from Gemma C (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 July 2026 Submitted via Website

After several tooth infections my mum had a an appointment at the dental centre. Although not the normal practice to send a carer one was granted and this was excellent. Kerry was the staff member and she was brilliant. It was a disorientating experience for my mum and Kerry was a point of normalisation. Mum obviously knew her and liked her. She was the only one able to persuade mum to put her chin on a rest. Kerry clearly knew my mum and was exceptionally tuned into her.

It was definitely a 3 person job. Kerry was a calming and caring presence on a very stressful trip. Thank you Kerry.
