My mother-in-law has been a resident of Dorset House since 13th January 2026. She shares my belief that she is being well cared for. It has been pleasing to see how quickly care staff have come to know and understand her as an individual, making our conversation with them regarding her care that much
easier. She really enjoys her food, and the activities on offer.

My Father has been a resident at St Ives, since January 2025, after my Mum passed away. He has Dementia and before he moved to St Ives, was struggling to cope. He took a few weeks to settle and is now happy. All of the staff are kind, attentive, proactive, welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Dad
is constantly being attended to and encouraged to live a full life, with activities and socialising. My sisters and I would highly recommend using St Ives, whether for residency or respite. We visit Dad often, knowing that when we leave him, he is being cared for in every way. Thank you to every member of staff, who makes up the team.
Reply from Rachel Wood, Head of Customer Relations at St Ives HouseThank you for your kind and heartfelt review. We are so pleased to hear that your father has settled well and is happy at St Ives. My mums care I can only say was adequate. She was in this care home for around 18 months before she passed away. In that time I had need to call adult social services 3 times. Due to my mums poor health it was decided not to unsettle her and move her. Mum had poor health and was not mobile so needed
to be hoisted, Some staff could be a little rough with her when changing or moving her, which I had spoken to senior staff about. On one occasion a member of my family after visiting was in tears as a member of staff was so rude to her that I had need to put in an official complaint, I would go in and help mum with eating her dinner, I noticed that some residents would eat barely any food which would be thrown in the bin. I did challenge a member of staff one day when a resident ate nothing and the whole plate of food went in the bin, the answer I got was she is tired. It has been a stressful and sometimes unhappy 18 months. Some staff were kind to mum and the family to which I thank

As soon as we entered Elizabeth House we notice the lovely, friendly atmosphere and on having a tour and meeting members of staff and seeing all the facilities on offer we knew this was the care home for mum. Sadly mum passed away not long after she moved in - we only wish she had decided to move in
earlier when she was more able so she could have enjoyed all that was on offer. Everyone at Elizabeth House were brilliant to her and us.
Reply from Rachel Wood, Head of Customer Relations at Elizabeth HouseThank you for your kind and heartfelt review. We are honoured that you chose Elizabeth House for your mum's care. Dad enjoyed his stay at Elizabeth House, found the staff very friendly and helpful towards him. He recently had more issues with his short term memory and as a family we felt happy that he was in a safe and secure environment although there were issues a couple of times with the lift not working properly
restricting movement from first floor. He was very satisfied and enjoyed his meals, as he had spoken to the head chef and adaptions were made to suit his diet requirements. He loved the garden for walking around. Good activities on offer and management team always polite and helpful.
Reply from Rachel Wood, Head of Customer Relations at Elizabeth HouseThank you for your kind review. We are delighted to hear that your dad enjoyed his stay and felt supported by our friendly team. It's wonderful to know that the adapted meals, activities, and garden contributed positively to his experience, and that you felt reassured by the safe environment we provide. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the lift and will continue working to ensure the best possible experience for our residents and their families. Thank you for sharing your comments.

My father was a long-term resident at Maiden Castle House for the sixteen months before his death from Alzheimers. The care he was given throughout that time was absolutely faultless. Ash and his team were brilliant, with the admin, catering and housekeeping staff all equally deserving of praise. Everyone
who came into contact with my father treated him with dignity and compassion. He loved getting the opportunity to read to the children who came to visit and enjoyed taking part in a wide range of other activities. Thank you to everyone.

If you are looking for a care home for your relative, then this is the one and you can stop looking. I looked at a number of homes that were local to me before placing mum at St Ives and from the first day they were truly amazing and had her health and care as their focus as she had complex needs. Initially
mum was apprehensive but within a week she was happy and settled and really felt at home. Nothing was too much effort, I could not recommend this wonderful place highly enough.

The team of carers looked after my friend with so much care over the last 3+ years. She had been in and out of different care homes/hospitals but Buxton House delivered a warm and caring home for her in her last years. She enjoyed many of the activities and outings offered when health permitted, sadly
she had few old friends visiting as distance a problem.

I would like to thank your staff for being so very caring and positive. It was my mums birthday yesterday and several members of staff came into her room with a cake and items that had been delivered from members of the family. They sang to her and then one member helped her open a present from the

Very impressed. The only things were:
- Peter was not told when the clocks changed!
- When he fell and kept saying to the paramedic and myself at 11 PM, "I'm getting out of bed", management said they would give him mattress and chair alarms! Sadly, this didn't happen.
- Not impressed by sponge pudding,
