When she was being assessed they noted that she was a reader and they provided magazines and books. The staff noted that she was a dress maker most of her life, and when we arrived, her name plate had her name and a picture of a sewing machine, and was thrilled. She took it home and now it's on her door. All very classy. She participated in all activities.

Dad enjoyed his stay at Elizabeth House, found the staff very friendly and helpful towards him. He recently had more issues with his short term memory and as a family we felt happy that he was in a safe and secure environment although there were issues a couple of times with the lift not working properly restricting movement from first floor. He was very satisfied and enjoyed his meals, as he had spoken to the head chef and adaptions were made to suit his diet requirements. He loved the garden for walking around. Good activities on offer and management team always polite and helpful.

Mum moved into Elizabeth House in January for respite care, but she loves it so much she would now like to stay permanently. The change in her has been transformational - she is happier than we have seen her in a long time and has really come out of herself.
When she was living alone, she was lonely, depressed, and often confused. Since moving into Elizabeth House, she has completely flourished. The staff have been absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and most importantly, Mum is very happy there.

I have been visiting a friend in this care home for 20 months, I came to view it before he arrived. Was given a really warm welcome. He settled in really well and loves it here as do I. I would recommend Elizabeth House to anyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

The staff are sunny and bright and know exactly what and when mother needs help, I can honestly say that to mum this is her home and if she has remained in her flat I would no longer have her with me but thanks to the care given to her at Elizabeth House she is happy and contented and well cared for. They inform me immediately of any problems so my mind is at rest that I have done what is best for my mother in placing her here.

Although she has dementia and cannot fully understand the various activities, the entertainment staff are committed to giving the residents every opportunity of having fun and socialising.

We chose this home because of the warm welcome and the pledge to meet our mother-in-law's needs. The management has an open-door policy and any concerns are efficiently dealt with. The cares are fully aware of the resident's needs and do try to respond as quickly as they are able. It is a busy home...
We chose this home because of the warm welcome and the pledge to meet our mother-in-law's needs. The management has an open-door policy and any concerns are efficiently dealt with. The cares are fully aware of the resident's needs and do try to respond as quickly as they are able. It is a busy home with an energetic activities team always making sure the residents have something going on to stimulate or entertain themselves and even take them out on trips. As a family we are welcomed any time and encouraged to join in events and trips out. Care South do a lot to raise money for other charities. It is a happy home where the staff really do care for their residents.

Hello, I’m Donna, and I am very happy to introduce myself as the Manager of Elizabeth House.I began my first care role over 20 years ago and have been part of Care South for nearly four years, previously working at one of our sister homes. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles, each one helping me grow and deepen my understanding of what truly matters in care. It has been an honour to be part of people’s lives and to be trusted in providing personal, meaningful care and support to residents and their families.
I have a real passion for people and for promoting dignity and respect in everything we do. I take pride in leading a team that encourages independence, ability and well-being.
I have a particular interest in dementia care, end-of-life care and supporting residents with complex needs. I was involved in the implementation and pilot of Namaste, a new approach to supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia at Care South.
It was a truly positive experience, and I am very excited to bring this to Elizabeth House.
Alongside progressing in my career, I have also raised my two children, who are now teenagers, and they continue to inspire me every day.
