Due to my own poor health and my wife's deterioration I had no choice but to place my wife in a care home. Due to covid I could not tour or inspect different homes and decided on this one as a telephone conversation with the manager reassured me. My wife has dementia and walked into the home as if she
had been there for years. The staff and management are excellent with her. The home is well decorated, clean, and doesn't smell. My wife is safe and happy and covid security is good. This was very difficult for me after 51 years of marriage.

Mum recently passed away after living at Elizabeth House for more than four very happy and contented years.
The care has always been professionally delivered with care and love. I was always made to feel welcome and always felt there was a happy and caring atmosphere. Communication with the home was
always exceptional with me being kept updated if there were any concerns. All phone calls I made to the home, whether answered by the manager, admin or care team, I always felt they were important to them.
During Covid restrictions, the home did all they could to ensure visits were safe for residents, staff and visitors. When Mum was receiving end of life care during this time, I was given valuable advice on how best to use my visits with a great deal of reassurance by the care team leaders.
For all the wonderful care, respect and love Mum was shown during her time at Elizabeth House, and especially at the end of her life, saying thank you doesn’t seem enough.

Everybody has been helpful and caring and have done their utmost to minimise the impact of Covid closures on contact and visiting whilst keeping residents safe and happy. The setting and gardens at Elizabeth House are lovely and I know my mum will enjoy spending time outside when the weather improves.

My brother sadly died three weeks ago at Elizabeth House, he had been there for nine months, since January 2020.
During this time, all the staff have shown nothing but kindness, patience and understanding, nothing was ever too much trouble.
Before lockdown, I was always invited to stay for tea and
cake or watch some of the residents playing games, quizzes or bingo, they all seemed so happy and felt safe there. Towards the end of his life, they would speak to my sister-in-law every day just to let her know how he was. During covid, nothing is easy for anyone.
I would recommend this marvellous care home, and the word HOME says it all. I couldn’t ask any more for my dear brother.

Since July we have been able to visit using the gazebo in the garden where social distancing and hand sanitisation have been adhered to. We have been greeted/treated in a professional and friendly way and made an enjoyable visit in these unusual circumstances.

My Dad has been a resident at Elizabeth House since August 2019, since then he has settled in very well. The staff there are so very friendly, always happy to help you or answer any concerns you have. They also keep you up to date with the news. The food there is excellent and always well fed. They
take care of his medical needs professionally. They look after his mental and physical well being. There are lovely gardens there and it's lovely to take dad outside for a bit of fresh air and sunshine in the good weather. I am very happy with my dad being looked after at Elizabeth House it is peace of mind for me.

My cousin - recently deceased - was a resident of Elizabeth House for some five years. I live a long way away and my visits were totally random at different times and days.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care and attention that was given to my cousin. All the staff I encountered were kind,
considerate and treated her with the utmost respect and dignity. The home itself was always clean and hygienic and she was always happy with her meals. I am very fussy and on the odd occasion that something needed addressing it was always acted upon promptly. The staff work hard to provide stimulus interest and variety and make the residents as comfortable as possible.
Before choosing Elizabeth House I visited many - and I mean many - care homes in the Bournemouth area and all I can say is that it was an excellent choice.
I would stay there myself.

After a number of attempts to settle my mother into a care home which suited her needs, we found Elizabeth House! The team of staff are truly dedicated and understand dementia, working hard to make it feel like a home from home in all aspects to its service users. As my Mothers requirements changed,

My friend has a rare form of dementia, and when I started to look for a home for her, it quickly became obvious that many care homes didn't want to take someone with that type of dementia.


Not so with Elizabeth House, who was enormously helpful and welcoming and clearly willing to do all they could

to enable my friend to settle in smoothly and comfortably. She settled in straight away and she's happy there. And safe. And well-cared for.


I am so grateful to everyone who works there for their dedication, hard work and love for all the residents. It's a very happy home, the atmosphere is calm and there is a range of activities on offer and the meals are good too. It's wonderful to know that my friend is enjoying her time there.

Mum was in Elizabeth House for 6 years.
She had severe Dementia.
Mum went in from hospital and was violent and disruptive.
The staff have always been supportive of her and me and provided her with a home and care second to none.

I find that the new manager has made improvements to the home, mainly in the dining area which relates to the chairs. The care team leader who has worked there for some year's, always stands out. With regards to the carer's, these seem to change and the use of agencies is often the case. I feel it is
important to support maintaining staff. One thing I feel is also important is that a person's name should be used, there are times when the term "love" is used. More attention has been given to the grounds rather than the rooms, also, laundry is a problem. I do my mum's yet sadly I find other people's clothing in her room with other people's names or room numbers. I feel the manager always has time to talk and so does your care team leader but when asking a carer a question, I don't know.

It is a very good home. My one concern is they are fed so much food and if they are not very hungry, it is almost forced upon them. I feel too much food is offered and cost could be reduced very much in this area.

If they walk out the dining room, please leave them and not

As soon as you are let in, always with a cheery greeting, it soon becomes obvious that everything is in order - this being security, safety, personal care and stimulation.


The thing that hit me on my first visit was the atmosphere. Nearly everybody was walking around with smiles on their faces.

The staff who organise the entertainment and games really put their heart and soul into it. I know my wife is in caring, safe hands.

Job Title: Home Manager

’m Claudia and very proud to be manager of Elizabeth House. I have been a trained nurse for over 40 years, and spent 37 of those years in the NHS, working across a wide variety of settings, and have 13 years’ experience as a care home manager.
I have a passion for person centred care and believe every day should be a special day for all our residents. Nothing is better for me than spending my days with our residents


I am passionate about palliative and dementia care, and this is reflected in my academic qualifications and experience. I love to be able to make a difference in the lives of the people in our care and believe it is an honour to be able to do so.


I have 4 grandchildren and love to spend as much of my free time as possible with them, and when not with family I love to travel.
