I have been coming to Elizabeth House for the past four years and have enjoyed myself each year, and been grateful for the support I received from the girls that live with me there. Everyone is so friendly.

Overall Experience
Despite my reservations about my father going into a rest Home, once he (and I) settled into the idea, it has been a huge weight lifted from the daily worries of his welfare.
The home allows the family to visit at any time, which is very reassuring and a huge factor in choosing this home.
The staff and management are always available and treat both visitors and, more importantly, the residents with professional care and the respect they deserve.
One of the most appealing aspects of this home is that when choosing where to place my father, it came across that the resident's happiness, inclusion, and well-being were far more important than how plush and impressive it may look to onlookers, and this has continued throughout his stay.

A huge thank you to all concerned.

My wife will soon have been living at Elizabeth House for a year. The care is excellent in a warm, homely environment. The management and staff are positive and cheerful and always pleased to see us when we visit. My wife is settled, happy and well cared for, that’s all we can ask.

Our aunt has been in the care home for seven weeks. The care is exceptional.
All the staff have smiles on their faces. And are very professional.
They seem to have all resident's problems at their fingertips.

Thanks so much. It is such a relief for us.

On Thursday, the team from Elizabeth House gave residents, family and friends a great afternoon; a tropical party with music, a quiz and a BBQ. All the team took great care with the residents, to make sure they were safe in the sun and joined in. Thank you all for a lovely time, you all worked so hard for us.

We are so thankful that Elizabeth House was able to take our stepmother. We moved her from another home because we weren’t happy with her care. Since she has been at Elizabeth House there has been a big improvement in her personal care and she seems very happy in herself. All staff and management have been very friendly not only to my stepmother but my father, family members and friends visiting. Thank you Elizabeth House.

My mother has been a resident in care at Elizabeth House from the 4th of November 2022 to the present 4th of March 2023. During this time, I have been extremely pleased with the high standard of care my mother has received. The care staff and management are all attentive, caring and dedicated to making Mum's daily routine a pleasant experience. Many thanks to you all.

Overall Experience

Due to my own poor health and my wife's deterioration I had no choice but to place my wife in a care home. Due to covid I could not tour or inspect different homes and decided on this one as a telephone conversation with the manager reassured me. My wife has dementia and walked into the home as if she had been there for years. The staff and management are excellent with her. The home is well decorated, clean, and doesn't smell. My wife is safe and happy and covid security is good. This was very difficult for me after 51 years of marriage.

Overall Experience
Mum recently passed away after living at Elizabeth House for more than four very happy and contented years.
The care has always been professionally delivered with care and love. I was always made to feel welcome and always felt there was a happy and caring atmosphere. Communication with the home was always exceptional with me being kept updated if there were any concerns. All phone calls I made to the home, whether answered by the manager, admin or care team, I always felt they were important to them.
During Covid restrictions, the home did all they could to ensure visits were safe for residents, staff and visitors. When Mum was receiving end of life care during this time, I was given valuable advice on how best to use my visits with a great deal of reassurance by the care team leaders.

For all the wonderful care, respect and love Mum was shown during her time at Elizabeth House, and especially at the end of her life, saying thank you doesn’t seem enough.

Review from Sue B (Sister of Resident) published on 10 November 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My brother sadly died three weeks ago at Elizabeth House, he had been there for nine months, since January 2020.
During this time, all the staff have shown nothing but kindness, patience and understanding, nothing was ever too much trouble.
Before lockdown, I was always invited to stay for tea and cake or watch some of the residents playing games, quizzes or bingo, they all seemed so happy and felt safe there. Towards the end of his life, they would speak to my sister-in-law every day just to let her know how he was. During covid, nothing is easy for anyone.
I would recommend this marvellous care home, and the word HOME says it all. I couldn’t ask any more for my dear brother.

Thank you, dear friends, of Elizabeth House.

My Dad has been a resident at Elizabeth House since August 2019, since then he has settled in very well. The staff there are so very friendly, always happy to help you or answer any concerns you have. They also keep you up to date with the news. The food there is excellent and always well fed. They take care of his medical needs professionally. They look after his mental and physical well being. There are lovely gardens there and it's lovely to take dad outside for a bit of fresh air and sunshine in the good weather. I am very happy with my dad being looked after at Elizabeth House it is peace of mind for me.

Review from Ray B (Cousin of Resident) published on 9 December 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My cousin - recently deceased - was a resident of Elizabeth House for some five years. I live a long way away and my visits were totally random at different times and days.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care and attention that was given to my cousin. All the staff I encountered were kind, considerate and treated her with the utmost respect and dignity. The home itself was always clean and hygienic and she was always happy with her meals. I am very fussy and on the odd occasion that something needed addressing it was always acted upon promptly. The staff work hard to provide stimulus interest and variety and make the residents as comfortable as possible.
Before choosing Elizabeth House I visited many - and I mean many - care homes in the Bournemouth area and all I can say is that it was an excellent choice.

I would stay there myself.

Meet the Team (1)

Donna Moss
Donna MossJob Title:Home Manager
Hello, I’m Donna, and I am very happy to introduce myself as the Manager of Elizabeth House.

I began my first care role over 20 years ago and have been part of Care South for nearly four years, previously working at one of our sister homes. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles, each one helping me grow and deepen my understanding of what truly matters in care. It has been an honour to be part of people’s lives and to be trusted in providing personal, meaningful care and support to residents and their families.

I have a real passion for people and for promoting dignity and respect in everything we do. I take pride in leading a team that encourages independence, ability and well-being.

I have a particular interest in dementia care, end-of-life care and supporting residents with complex needs. I was involved in the implementation and pilot of Namaste, a new approach to supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia at Care South.

It was a truly positive experience, and I am very excited to bring this to Elizabeth House.

Alongside progressing in my career, I have also raised my two children, who are now teenagers, and they continue to inspire me every day.
