I have been visiting a friend in this care home for 20 months, I came to view it before he arrived. Was given a really warm welcome. He settled in really well and loves it here as do I. I would recommend Elizabeth House to anyone. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Dad moved into Wickmeads in Sept 2024 after loosing his wife of 50 years. He spent 15 months in a comfortable, clean, friendly home where his family were welcomed regularly. The exceptional care came at the end of his life when the staff were so caring and treated him with love and dignity. We are very
grateful to all the staff for making his last few days warm, comfortable and loved.

When 24/7 care becomes necessary, it is a significant change that affects both the individual in need as well as the family.
Having undertaken this decision with the utmost care and consideration, the next step is to ensure that the right residential care home is chosen - which can be daunting.
Well,
you need not worry any more - because Castle Dene is a wonderful care home choice.
My father, who is fragile and incredibly unstable on his feet, is very happy at Castle Dene.
His room is very comfortable and warm, with a lovely large window overlooking the spacious and attractive garden which lets in lots of natural light.
This definitely makes a big difference to his happiness, as his 'personal space' is cozy/homely and a joy to spend time in - as are all the communal rooms and dining room/conservatory.
The food is of a high quality and plentiful.
BUT most importantly, the care is amazing.
The staff are attentive, friendly and respectful... it is a truly happy community and environment

Wickmeads

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 98year old father moved into Wickmeads in October 2025 following a decline in his mobility and general health. Despite family efforts to keep him in the home he had lived and loved for nearly 60yrs, his independence was rapidly declining. He reluctantly agreed the time had come and needed more help
with day to day care.
As a former local Community Nurse Manager, my standards of care have always been high and I just knew there was only ever going to be one home i would trust to care for my wonderful Dad as I had. Wickmeads!
Without exception 'every staff member" is a credit to CareSouth. Ably lead by Tracy the Home"s Manager, nothing is too much trouble. Compassionate, respectful, supportive, hardworking and kindness exudes.
My Dad is settling into a new way of life. He feels safe and respected. He is adjusting gradually. His independence is encouraged for which he is delighted. There are plenty of activities arranged and he is grateful to everyone for their kindness. Thank you

My mum absolutely loved every moment of her stay. The quality of care was excellent and obvious from day one that wickmeads is a care home that cares. I always believed that when the time came for mum and myself to select a care home it would be a difficult decision. We did do research and visit others
BUT from the moment we made contact with Wickmeads it was an easy choice as they are leagues above the others we looked into.

Marjorie House is a truly special place. My mother has recently moved in for respite care and our experience of the home, it's facilities, staff and management has been exemplary. Every aspect of admission to the home was expertly handled. The whole process was very smooth, and gave my mum so much reassurance.
All staff go above and beyond for mum every day in all aspects of her life and care requirements. The environment at the home is consistently warm, clean and safe. The food is presented incredibly well, and there is a large selection of activities to take part in.
We couldn't be happier with our experience at Marjorie House, and would highly recommend to anyone requiring top quality care. An outstanding home.

It was a difficult decision when mum moved into Maiden Castle House (MCH) permanently. She had been into a few homes for respite and MCH was the only care home I had confidence in to care for her. The home is managed to a high standard. The carers help mum with dignity and compassion. They quickly found
out her 'likes and dislikes' and vulnerability to falls. The housekeeping team keep the care home beautifully clean and fresh. The catering staff provide excellent meals with plenty of nutritious snacks available at all times. All at the care home so welcoming to mum, myself, my partner and our dog. I am always included in any decision making.

My mother in law has just become a permanent resident, having been here before respite care. The staff have gone the extra mile to welcome and help her settle in. She is enjoying the food, there is plenty of it, with 3 hot meals a day, plus supper, morning coffee (with a snack) and afternoon tea (with
a snack). Her bedroom is a nice size, comfy bed, nice furniture, with room for the family to sit with her in her room if we want to, numerous lounges to sit in, lots of activities she has already been involved in. The home is really warm, kept very clean, and kind professional staff on hand whenever needed.

On visiting Dorset House greeted by very friendly staff, very clean on our visit to see dad, he is loving the freshly prepared & cooked meals. Dad seems to be very happy at Dorset House after living on his own for the last 8 years & very independently.
