My mum came to Fern Brook Lodge for a short period of respite care whilst we attended a funeral and visited other family. She was very well cared for bu the team who were extremely patient and caring when helping her to settle. It's such a beautiful place and the staff were wonderful. Special thanks
to a particular member of staff who helped us get this organised and introduced us to this lovely home.

Fern Brook Lodge always feels welcoming both the staff and the building itself. It is a clean safe environment and my partner has benefitted hugely from the care and kindness he has received here. He has gained weight because the staff encourage him to eat and drink and help him choose meals he can
manage and enjoy. The attention to detail is noticeable as is the positive of the staff to my partners health and wellbeing.

The transition for my father from the family home to Dorset House has been made a lot less stressful by the fantastic staff. Absolutely everyone works incredibly hard to ensure my fathers needs are met and that he feels comfortable and happy. On my visits to the home I have found the atmosphere at
Dorset House to be consistently warm, friendly and above all caring,. This has given me the confidence to feel that my father can actually enjoy this somewhat more challenging period of his life fully supported by a wonderful team.

On balance, this care home is the best I've seen (out of many). One thing that Mum is always wearing her own clothes, which sounds silly, but is not the case in some homes. Most ot the staff are very good and kind, they are very good at informing me of any illness/accidents, ie falls. I'm a very regular
visitor, so have seen the continuity of care over 2 years.

My husband has been in Fairlawn since the middle of July 2025, and so far, I am most impressed by the admin staff, carers and domestic staff. Management, gardeners and chef. We celebrated our 67th Wedding Anniversary on the 9th August 2025, and the staff gave us a wonderful celebration day lunch. Personally,
all staff celebrated with us, plus the chef served our lunch himself, full marks all round.

I did not want my client to have to go into residential care, but when the time came and I approached Fairlawn, the experience was a very positive one. From first contact to several weeks into residential care, the whole experience has been smooth, calm, easy and very reassuring. My client is happy
at Fairlawn and thriving. His needs are being met very well, and he obviously feels safe and happy, as well as comfortable and well cared for. I would highly recommend Fairlawn.

The first thing to say is Wickmeads staff are very special. I have worked in healthcare for many years as a manager. Wickmeads impressed me and the family with it's excellent management and staff training.
All the staff delivered outstanding care. The food was excellent as good as a 5 star hotel.
The rooms and entertainment offered was also excellent.
There were well planned breakout areas and the lovely garden. Wickmeads gave our mum, nan an amazing period of respite care to enable her to return home.

During his stay, my father was treated with kindness and respect and despite him not being partially 'happy' at moving into a home at the beginning, quickly settled in.

In-between my regular visits, I received numerous update calls and always felt assured he was well looked after and in safe hands.

He passed away recently however my wife and I were with him throughout. During this time, the staff were incredibly kind and considerate, alongside providing guidance, support and empathy during his final hours.

Mum spent a very happy 14 months here. She was well looked after by an excellent team of carers. From the moment she arrived at Talbot View she received kind and loving care, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff here. Many activities are arranged for residents and Mum joined in where she
could and as a family we were grateful to be included either at the time or by being sent photos of her interaction. During her final days she was treated with the utmost respect and you could feel and see the genuine love, care and kindness that the staff had for her. We could not recommend Talbot View highly enough. You would not find better care for your family member.

My mum has been a resident at Dorset House for 4 years. The love and care that is given to her by all staff is above and beyond. Every single member of staff is professional, kind and knowledgeable. We as a family are always kept up to date with Mums care and feel the staff are very approachable if
there are any concerns. There are activities on every day for the residents to enjoy and outings if they wish to go on them. The whole house is kept clean and tidy and the Dining Room is lovely. The chef is approachable with any individual needs and the food provided is well cooked. There is a constant drinks trolley and fruit available at all times. There are a couple of staff that Mum is close to, one in particular who uses humour to manage Mums personal needs. He is always smiling and happy in his work.
