St Ives provides a home from home environment with care and support. The staff are all wonderful and committed to treating residents with respect, dignity and individually. Families are encouraged and made very welcome. There are lots of activities to get involved with and family members are welcome
to join in. We especially enjoyed the musicians, bingo and tennis! Quality time can be spent enjoying a coffee or a wander in the lovely gardens.

I experienced a wonderful welcome in my room, my favourite biscuits were in a basket plus 4 cans of lager. This was a lovely gesture and made me feel very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Christchurch and an excellent day out at Bournemouth's new training ground playing walking football,
and also did a charity walk. Food, staff and management are all excellent.

Dad has been a resident at Maiden Castle House for almost a year now, on their Casterbridge dementia unit. At first Dad did not want to leave his room, but with the care and encouragement shown by the wonderful staff he now happily spends his days in the lounge. He has built friendships with the staff
and other residents.
The Manager and senior staff are very approachable and happy to help and answer family questions.
Each week there are a range of different activities and Dad certainly enjoys the trips out.
Recently my sister and I had the opportunity to take part in a virtual dementia session organised by the home, which gave us a greater understanding of the challenges someone suffering with the condition has. It was also a great opportunity to share experiences and coping methods with other families in the same situation.
There is a friendly relaxed atmosphere at Maiden Castle House, whilst also being super efficient. We have been so impressed with the care Dad receives.

It is never easy having to consider care for your parents, but since moving our parents in to Dorset House I can only say that it has been lovely to become a daughter again and not a carer. All the staff are so friendly, professional and respectful and nothing is too much for them.
Mum unfortunately
passed away recently, but dad continues to flourish with the care and encouragement from all the team.

Since both of my parents moved to Dorset House this summer I cannot fully express how caring, compassionate, helpful and friendly all the staff have been. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Mum sadly passed away after a short stay but Dad is still a resident and due to the ongoing care and help
offered to him his mobility and general well being has greatly improved. Dad is encouraged to take part in the daily activities sessions arranged by the enthusiastic and energetic Activities Team and recently enjoyed a boat trip around Poole Harbour.

Each time we visit Dorset House we are welcomed by friendly and happy staff who always take time to ask how we are and update up us on Dad's care.

Both my parents-in-law recently became residents in Dorset House and were made most welcome from the outset. They were able to celebrate their wedding anniversary with a family & friends gathering in one of the lounges set aside & decorated especially for the occasion, with a wonderful buffet of food
and refreshments. It made a memorable day for them and all who attended. The gardens outside are always well tended and are beautiful for sitting in or having a stroll to see the fish. There is plenty of shade and seats & seating areas available. All the staff are very friendly and caring, they quickly understand the residents and also the residents families/friends visiting. Its always such a pleasure to visit, you are made most welcome, a real home. Although my parents-in-law were not at all keen on moving into a care home; from the day they entered they have really enjoyed being there. There are activities arranged every day and also trips out to Swanage, Poole Quay, the park etc.

When I first arrived at St Ives I had just left hospital and was very weak. After 3 weeks of care at St Ives I was back on my feet and felt well enough to live independently again. The staff are wonderfully caring very friendly and will always help in anyway possible. My mums care is good and our problem with her medication is now sorted of which we are grateful. The transition for my father from the family home to Dorset House has been made a lot less stressful by the fantastic staff. Absolutely everyone works incredibly hard to ensure my fathers needs are met and that he feels comfortable and happy. On my visits to the home I have found the atmosphere at
