Fairlawn

She was always shown respect, offered choice and given privacy. She was a proud and stubborn lady at times not wanting help or support and again this was respected. As she grew frail she accepted more support which was given with care and understanding of her ways and preferences. She made wonderful friendships with carers, housekeepers and chefs! Staff would often sit and chat with her which she loved especially the younger carers who called her nanny Kath which she loved. Staff were always caring, friendly but remained respectful and professional; communication was excellent. Any questions or concerns I may have had were dealt with appropriately and smoothly. Staff were always friendly and welcoming when I visited, a lovely care home I highly recommend.

Sadly my nan passed away this week but she did so in the comfort of her room within the building that had become her home for several years. Each member of the care home were so empathic to us as a family-kept checking on us asking if we needed anything as well as ensuring nan was settled and free of pain. After she passed the staff have all asked how they could help us make the job of packing up her belongings easier and were very sensitive to the situation. As a family we have appreciated Fairlawn's staff being there each day when we couldn't always.

When he first arrived there I was questioned about his diet (vegetarian) as well as medication.

Every single member of staff that we have come in to contact with at Fairlawn has been nothing short of lovely. We have been made to feel very welcome and I am confident in the care that my father is receiving. Tina and her team are always happy to spend time with us and have very kindly helped us on our family's first journey with a care home. We cannot praise them enough.

It was the residents birthday and we requested a space for the family to attend to celebrate with her on arrival we were in the bright open day room and the table was decorated and an amazing variety of fruit and Cakes were provided for us. The staff checked all was ok on arrival and everything provided tasted yummy and was well presented. Thank you to all the team and chef Jon.

I inspected the on suite bathroom, which was spotless as were the necessary towels.

The manages door is always open and is happy to listen to any suggestions ,problems or concerns. These are all noted and discussed. I have every confidence with the staff. We also had a discussion of mums and our wishes for , if mum was to pass away. This was lovely because everyone will know what to do when the time comes, which gives peace of mind .

Fairlawns provided excellent care for my mother for 8 years. All staff were caring with a very understanding approach in challenging circumstances. Many thanks to the management and the senior carers on the second floor. We are very grateful that she recieved dignified end of life care in a comforting setting. Fairlawn is well situated in Ferndown with beautiful gardens and amenities. My father passed just recently and I am just very grateful for the effort put in by all the staff to make this difficult time more comfortable for us sons and wives who spent time with him in his last hours. Many thanks and appreciation for looking after Dad at Fairlawn.

The staff have all been professional and very helpful while we both navigate this change. I feel confident mum is being looked after and is being kept safe.

Fairlawn has been my mother-in-law's home for nearly 2 years. She was adamant she would only go into Fairlawn and was extremely happy and very well-cared for! The manager and her team are amazing, so friendly, welcoming, supportive and very professional. The end of life care she received was exceptional, she was treated with dignity, respect, love and care. We are so thankful to everyone at Fairlawn!

I was very impressed with Fairlawn when looking for a permanent care home for my husband. There was a room available, and he was quickly admitted. The process was handled very well and I am delighted with his care so far. He has only been there nine days, but the admin team and the carers are all lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. My husband is a wanderer, but the home is very secure and there are staff on duty at night, so I know he is safe and cared for 24/7. Fairlawn is immaculately clean, there are plenty of activities and the food is plentiful and excellent. I would definitely recommend Fairlawn.

A wonderful home offering love, care and compassion not just to the residents but also their families at what is an emotional time. The management team is exceptional.

On balance, this care home is the best I've seen (out of many). One thing that Mum is always wearing her own clothes, which sounds silly, but is not the case in some homes. Most ot the staff are very good and kind, they are very good at informing me of any illness/accidents, ie falls. I'm a very regular visitor, so have seen the continuity of care over 2 years.

I did not want my client to have to go into residential care, but when the time came and I approached Fairlawn, the experience was a very positive one. From first contact to several weeks into residential care, the whole experience has been smooth, calm, easy and very reassuring. My client is happy at Fairlawn and thriving. His needs are being met very well, and he obviously feels safe and happy, as well as comfortable and well cared for. I would highly recommend Fairlawn.

My husband has been in Fairlawn since the middle of July 2025, and so far, I am most impressed by the admin staff, carers and domestic staff. Management, gardeners and chef. We celebrated our 67th Wedding Anniversary on the 9th August 2025, and the staff gave us a wonderful celebration day lunch. Personally, all staff celebrated with us, plus the chef served our lunch himself, full marks all round.

We found the care home and their superb staff to be very caring, compassionate and always polite. Although my mum was only in the home for a short period time, the staff made every effort to make her stay a pleasant one.
