Woodstock Nursing Home specialises in residential, dementia, nursing and day care and is set on the outskirts of Gloucester.

I was greeted in a very friendly manner and made to feel welcome. The visiting process was explained to me and I had no anxieties. The time spent with my dad was relaxed and enjoyable.

This review relates to March because I have been unable to enter the home since then due to Covid-10. My mum is well down the path on her journey with Alzheimer's and is therefore unable to participate in most of the entertainment. I would wish for more one to one "chat" between her and the carers.
Of course, staffing numbers and time available restrict what can be offered, which is a huge pity as I am currently unable to visit properly. Mum is confined to a wheelchair and I feel she is vulnerable to other residents who may wander into her room.

We have had to adapt our offerings of activities for residents and the staff have amended their offering to include more "one to one" and small group activities. We do encourage residents and relatives to make full use of Skype/Whatsapp etc as one way of ensuring contact. We have dedicated iPads on-site to support this.

Since mum was made a resident of Woodstock she has been looked after with great care and consideration. She had been in a nursing home previously where she was quite distressed at times and staff had no time for residents.
Mum has been well looked after. She is eating more than she ever has and is
happy in her own world. I have nothing but admiration for all the staff.

I was delighted with my mother's care whilst she was a resident at Woodstock. The staff were extremely supportive and kind to her. There was plenty of activities, good food and care and mum was happy there. Cleanliness was good and general overall feeling of the home was excellent. As a family, we
were always made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble and the end of life care for mum was extremely well carried out from the carers and the nurses and also very informative.

During Mum's last few weeks at Woodstock Care Home, I couldn't have been happier with the love and care shown to her by all the staff. It is never an easy decision to admit that your loved one needs 24/7 professional care and we had never imagined we would find ourselves in this position. It is a huge
ask to say to total strangers 'please look after my Mum'....but the lovely staff at Woodstock didn't remain strangers for long ....and I'm happy to say they are good friends now.
The nursing skills of those closest to Mum were given with such consideration for Mum's dignity and comfort. I felt that mum was in the safest and kindest place possible.....whilst all her needs were tended to.
A big thank you to all the staff at Woodstock Care Home in Brockworth Gloucester. .....you are all stars.

Over the year that my father has been at Woodstock, I have been struck by the kindness and loving care that he has received. It seems that the staff have infinite patience in their approach to the residents. For my siblings and me, it is a great relief to know that Dad is safe, secure and happy at Woodstock.

My mother stayed at Woodstock for over a year and throughout that time the staff and management were professional and at the same time incredibly caring.
Nothing was ever too much trouble for the carers and they went out of their way to befriend my mother and all of the other residents.
In the early
days, they ensured my mum was interested and made to feel at home.
Towards the end, the staff showed amazing compassion and helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. I will always be grateful to the staff at Woodstock and regard them with great fondness.

My Auntie spent 3 years at Woodstock, and during this time she received exemplary care throughout. Her needs were complex and staff at all levels were unfailingly caring and compassionate. They made Woodstock a home and a community for us. When my aunt passed away staff were so supportive and went above
and beyond the call of duty both to myself and my aunt.
Managers were caring and involved in each resident's care and took the time to know both residents and their families.

The home was lovely and the staff were very compassionate and caring.
The food was excellent and as my Dad is blind the carers were always there to give extra support to him.
There is a lovely, homely atmosphere and plenty of activities going on every day.
Dad was only there for respite after being
in hospital, but if he ever needs full-time care I hope he will be able to go back to Woodstock.

The friendly team at Woodstock Nursing Home go over and beyond their duty of care in respect of support for my mother and her close family. My mother was a resident of a newly established nursing home for approx 1 year. Extenuating circumstances led to her eviction. Mum has since resided for approx
3 years at Woodstock Nursing Home. Her physical and emotional well-being is being supported by a professional and caring practice. I would recommend this care provider.
