I cannot express enough how amazing all the staff are at this nursing home!
I visited my mother every single day for well over a month, and the care, compassion and love they showed my mum and myself went above and beyond all my expectations.
My mum was always comfortable, clean, cared for and loved!
From what I encountered, they treat every resident in the exact same way. A beautiful home, in a beautiful setting, where your loved one's every need is professionally, personally and generously accommodated. I highly recommend.

Our mother Irene Whittle was fast tracked to Westley Court from Russells Hall hospital due to her failing and terminal condition. The home reacted magnificently to accomodate her and her needs for the short time she had left. The room was comfortable and the staff were supportive and caring. Although
her time was short the family knows she had the best care in that time that was available to make her comfortable. Thank you all at Westley Court.
Reply from Rhiannon Waters, Home Manager at Westley CourtThank you for taking the time to share such a touching review.

We are grateful that Westley Court was able to respond quickly and provide your mum with comfort, dignity and care during her final days. It means a great deal to know that your family felt supported and reassured at such a difficult time.

We will pass your kind words on to the team, who will be truly touched. Our sincere condolences and warmest wishes are with you and your family.

Church View is a lovely nursing home. The initial meeting with manager was friendly and very helpful. My mother was kept clean during her short stay. The room was clean, light and had a lovely outlook. During the end of life care, we did have concerns that the care wasn't proactive in regards to pain
relief - we had to ask on numerous occasions for this to be increased due the painful condition my mother suffered with. Staff were very professional during this time, which we are grateful.
Reply from Guneet Brookes, Marketing Manager at Church View Care HomeThank you for your kind words. We are pleased that your mother was comfortable during her stay and that our team could support you and your family at such a difficult time.
We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding pain management. Your comments are important to us and will help us continue to improve the care we provide.
Our thoughts are with you and your family, and thank you for trusting us with your mother's care.

In my tree years at Avebury House I have been very grateful and satisfied with the care and support of all the carers and nurses, I am totally dead for do not partake in the many activities provided, but enjoy the games of dominoes and cards with other residents, I cannot comment on food or drink as
I am unable to swallow I am fed direct by tube to stomach with liquid energy food, so my final words of my residency at Avebury House is this is my home and I'm very happy here. Thank you.

Dad has been a resident since Feb 2023, has been deaf since 16 and is now 95yrs young. He's independent with his own personal care and can mobilise a short distance with his frame. He has always received the best of care and attention from all staff - Activities include him in Cribb and Domino games,
nursing staff give him his daily dose of nutrition via his PEG, care staff assist him with his Friday morning trip to the shower with a change of clothes, and housekeeping ensure his room is clean and any laundry returned on time. He is a well liked resident who enjoys the interaction and banter with staff and fellow residents. He is treated with a high level of care, dignity, and respect and has built a loving and friendly relationship with all staff. The home is well led and has an excellent administrator who looks after resident finance funds and appointments with the hairdresser and chiropodist etc. It's a lovely home and Dad is very happy there. Many thanks to everyone xx

She started in respite care, then switched to permanent and got a better room. Confused and reluctant to stay for the first few weeks, but the staff are all friendly and helpful. Food is good, and she has plenty of visitors and trips out, so she is becoming happier about being in the home. She is encouraged
to hang up pictures and collect possessions to make it feel like home. She enjoys sitting in the garden. James and Jasmine, the managers, have been very helpful in explaining options and helping her settle in. The only problem is that the phone messages are not passed on when they should be.
Reply from Guneet Brookes, Marketing Manager at Avebury HouseThank you for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased to hear that settling in has become easier and that the garden, outings, and support from the team have helped make the home feel more comfortable. The staff are very caring and friendly. My aunt took a little while to settle in, as you'd expect, but has always remarked about how well they treat her.
She's safe, well cared for and respected and I can't fault how she's been treated.

My only minor gripe is that internal communication seems to

fall down sometimes. Messages don't always seem to get through to other members of staff and, when my Aunt has been unable to take my calls, I often don't get the return phone calls that I'm promised.

Overall though, I'm very happy and know we made the right decision moving her here.

Reply from Guneet Brookes, Marketing Manager at Avebury HouseThank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that your aunt feels safe, respected, and well cared for by the team, as that is always our priority.

We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding communication. Please be assured that this is something the home is actively working on to improve, particularly around message handovers and returning calls promptly. Your comments are invaluable in helping us provide a better experience for both residents and families.

Thank you again for your support and trust in our care. It means a great deal to us.

A care home is a home to residents for care.
Care in this care home is excellent in manners of ways, because all of the staff - manager - to kitchen staff - housekeeping staff and also the nurses and carers - because each and every member of staff at Avebury House care about what they do. That makes
an excellent home in my opinion. Excellent all round.

Just such a caring amazing place - what makes it special is the exceptional staff.
Nothing is too much trouble. All Mum's needs are being met highly.
They are so sweet and kind, very gentle with Mum.
Always keep us informed as sadly I live some distance away.
All questions are answered.
Mum is
always very clean and her hair and nails done; And although bed ridden is in new nightclothes.
The rooms are cosy and bright.
It's warm and fresh.
It's so clean.
If any personal items are required- they always let us know.
Mum has been at Avebury House for 10 months and we are so pleased to have found her a home, not just a souless institution.
Sadly Mum can't really take part in any activities due to her having had several strokes, however the staff are very supportive and attentive

My mother has been a resident of Chapel House for nearly 5 months and in that time she has received exceptional care. The staff are both friendly and professional and my mother is happily settled in Chapel House. When searching for a care home for her we visited numerous other care homes in Gloucester
and Chapel House stood head and shoulders above the others. I would highly recommend Chapel House to anyone looking for nursing care in Gloucester.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother is a resident at Westley Court and my father also resided here until his passing in December 2025. Manager Rhiannon is caring, compassionate and professional. She is always responsive to any concerns and will work with families to find solutions to any problems. She has a genuine passion
for the industry she's working in and this is reflected throughout the home. It is kept spotlesslessly clean and fresh and staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well run and the kitchen manager is incredibly helpful with any dietary requirements. Nothing is too much trouble. The entertainments team work hard to provide diversions for the residents and have even had live chicks hatching in an incubator over Easter! This was loved by so many residents. Families are always able to speak to nurses and get feedback on their loved ones. The atmosphere throughout the home is light and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westley Court to any relative looking for care.
Reply from Rhiannon Waters, Home Manager at Westley CourtThank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Westley Court.

We are honoured to care for your mother and your late father. Your words about my approach, along with the care and dedication of the whole team, are deeply appreciated and reflect what we strive for every day.

It's wonderful to hear that the cleanliness of the home, the friendliness of our team, and the efforts of our kitchen and activities staff have made such a positive impression. We're especially pleased that the Easter chick experience brought so much joy, it was a very special moment for many of our residents.

Ensuring open communication and creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and their families is at the heart of what we do, so your feedback is incredibly encouraging.

Thank you again for your recommendation and for placing your trust in us. It is a privilege to be part of your family's journey.
