Mom was moved to a different room and does not know how to work the push taps in the bathroom. I have asked carers twice now to please just stay in with her in the morning when she dresses long turn on the tap and brush her teeth and rinse her month and I can see it's not been done.

My wife is a resident at Downs View and I am comforted by the care she receives. Every one dealing wirh her knows her problems and treats her with care and compassion. As she becomes more dependant on the staff they accomodate her needs. This was brought home to me abruptly at a recent hospital stay,
where paliative care was the initail responce from the consultants, the staff on general ward did their best but were under constant pressure and unable to give the care that she enjoys at Downs View. Once back she recovered.
God bless the people at Downs View.

Mum was here three weeks for respite. When we visited she always looked happy and well cared for. The staff were so caring and treated mum with dignity and respect. The whole atmosphere was warm, friendly and relaxed. At the end of her stay, mum was sad to be leaving her friends and told us she
had a lovely time. The Manager made the process of arranging the stay very easy and was approachable throughout.

She was a joy to care for, and we are delighted to hear that she enjoyed her stay. From the moment I walked into Mockley Manor, I knew mom was in the best place she could possibly be. It was immediately apparent that here was a place that was going to take the very best care of my mom.
She was in a lovely room, beautifully decorated and looking out over green fields with bird boxes
outside the window. After being in and out of hospital for months, this was such a wonderful environment.
But as ever, it is the staff that make the place special. The manager and the lady on front of house were both so helpful, kind and informative, really helping my dad and the whole family navigate the whole journey. Every one of the care staff were so kind and the attention to detail in ensuring all mom's needs were met was exceptional.
And they were all so kind and supportive to my dad throughout, even after mom sadly passed, the manager and front of house both helped us with the admin, I can't thank them enough.

I was so grateful that Avebury agreed to take my partner for 2 weeks. He had been in the hospital for 8 days after some falls. Leaving him feeling very confused, not knowing where he lived and wandering around all night (after sleeping all day!) - I am 84, needed to get some rest to continue his care,
he lived with me for 8 years after I suggested he should stay with me after his hip replacement - he stayed! bless him.

On choosing Woodstock, I was pleased with the lady who showed me around. Later, I was told that a total of 6 months of refurbishment was in operation. It turned out to be a new front door and decoration on the Ground Floor was all. The room my wife was in was never cleaned properly, floor dust etc.
was left for 5 months, toilet rolls were missing for days at a time. Bins are not emptied after a day. the laundry service was a joke. My wife's clothes went missing, and strangers' clothes were in place instead. My wife lost her wedding ring, various clothes, a commemorative coin etc. The food was very basic, and no attempt to make a meal to appeal to her, was ever offered. My overview is that the Manager and her staff were doing their best to manage under severe financial restraints. The owners should be ashamed.
Reply from Stewart McGinn, CEO at Woodstock Nursing Home

We note that your relative moved out some months ago. We have reviewed the concerns within your review and are disappointed that you felt that you could not raise these concerns at the time. This would have allowed us to fully investigate and respond to you. As a significant amount of time has passed it's now difficult to accurately investigate. We welcome all feedback and will always try to resolve any concerns immediately if afforded the opportunity to do so. The Homes' refurbishment has been underway for several months now, due to finish in Dec 2025. Regular cleaning checks are completed in the Home, overseen by the Manager. Our records show one clothing item was misplaced and later retrieved promptly, the initial inventory detailing your wife's possessions on arrival, did not include a wedding ring or commemorative coin. These concerns were not raised at the time of your wife living in the home. We would therefore reject your feedback as being unsubstantiated.

My dad was placed at Avebury House following a long hospital stay, we've now moved dad to be closer to all his family as Devizes was a long way out and we couldn't visit as much as we'd like. I have to say Avebury House were fantastic and Dad was very happy there, he was well cared for, he thought so
highly of all the staff, everyone went above and beyond to keep dad happy and to ensure he had everything he needed. I was always contacted if dad was unwell or if there were any concerns in regards to his health/wellbeing, dad was so sad to leave here and even though he's in a lovely new home, he often tells me how he misses Avebury House, the staff and the food. I really can't thank everyone here enough for making sure dad had a happy settled year and a half with you, thank you

My father was admitted to the home in January where he was looked after to a good standard of care. There were a couple of occasions where we had to ask for him to be shaved and fingernails cut but apart from that we were more than happy with the care that was undertaking there. The Manager was amazing
and always very helpful. If we had a query regarding Dad the home was always clean and tidy. The food look good however Dad didn't really like the food so we did take him snacks in apart from that the care in the end of Dad's life was good it was just a shame home was over 40 minutes away which meant we couldn't visit as much as we wanted to, however there are four daughters so we shared the visits to make them as consistent as possible in Dad's need and mental well-being that he was being cared for and visited by his family members.

Mum has been at Ashbury Lodge for two years now and is really happy there. Before she lived there, she was scared, angry, defensive and her life had reduced due to her Alzheimer's but I feel the care is satisfactory and all activities she has at Ashbury have opened up her life again. She is safe and
secure, her medical needs are met and she is even trying activities she would never have done before (eg dancing). She had become quite isolated, but I also think the company has done her the world of good. Thank you.

My mum stayed at Ashbury Lodge for approximately a year. All the staff are wonderful and really take care to ensure their residents are safe and feeling content. They go out of their way to encourage residents to take part in the activities they have going on. My mum really enjoyed the chair exercises
and the singers that came in to perform. She also made some lovely friends. Unfortunately due to my mum's illness progressing, we had to move her into a Nursing Home (under the same Care Home umbrella). The Care Home Manager was fantastic in supporting us with the move, she really cares about all the residents in the home and will go out of her way to ensure the best outcome. Thank you everyone!

Very emotional decision for family after looking after loved one for so many years, however, the dementia disease of the loved one finally had its unforgiving toll on wife (sole carer), providing all care throughout each 24-hour period. The torturous decision had to be made for long-term care home/
nursing care.
On viewing the Arbory, the greeting, understanding and interest shown by staff expelled my fears. I felt my husband would be in a safe environment, cared for by a dedicated/ skilled team and my family and I can visit at any time. The home is bright, well-designed, which enables residents to maximise their independence and interests with the safety of staff available at all times. Thank you.
