Ashbury Lodge is a family-run, private care home on the outskirts of Swindon, catering for 42 residents.

Long term residents are invited to personalize their room, which includes bringing in favorite or treasured items.

Both floors cater for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia who need extra care.

Every floor functions as a separate unit within the home. All staff are trained in the care of those experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Meals are varied and nutritious and prepared daily by the home’s on-site resident chef and food is sourced from local suppliers. Residents are able to choose their own meals whether that’s down to dietary requirements or personal choice.

There is also a garden enabling residents to enjoy sunny days, or short walks fro fresh air.

Mum has been at Ashbury Lodge for two years now and is really happy there. Before she lived there, she was scared, angry, defensive and her life had reduced due to her Alzheimer's but I feel the care is satisfactory and all activities she has at Ashbury have opened up her life again. She is safe and
secure, her medical needs are met and she is even trying activities she would never have done before (eg dancing). She had become quite isolated, but I also think the company has done her the world of good. Thank you.

My mum stayed at Ashbury Lodge for approximately a year. All the staff are wonderful and really take care to ensure their residents are safe and feeling content. They go out of their way to encourage residents to take part in the activities they have going on. My mum really enjoyed the chair exercises
and the singers that came in to perform. She also made some lovely friends. Unfortunately due to my mum's illness progressing, we had to move her into a Nursing Home (under the same Care Home umbrella). The Care Home Manager was fantastic in supporting us with the move, she really cares about all the residents in the home and will go out of her way to ensure the best outcome. Thank you everyone!

Ashbury lodge is a fantastic care home my mum was there for 18months until she sadly passed away peacefully on the 3rd May. The staff are dedicated hard workers ,managers are brilliant and also involve themselves with residents too.Ashbury is well maintained and clean to the highest quality. I cannot
recommend Ashbury Lodge highly enough they are brilliant . Love to everyone

The staff worked very hard and treated my mum with care and dignity. They treated her with love and tried hard to make her happy. Dementia made my mum very difficult and challenging at times but this was dealt with by Ashbury Lodge as well as they could. My only comments are that I felt the staff were
under staffed and the continuity of care with some staff members wasn't there. Mananagement were also a bit distant. 95% to the hard working staff members.

My dad had a very unsettled time before coming to Ashbury Lodge at the beginning of March. However, he has now really settled into the home, which I found to be a very friendly and welcoming place. It has such a homely feel and all staff are friendly and professional.
I feel confident that all his
needs are being met and that he is very happy there. I would definitely recommend this home.

My Mum was a self-funding resident of Ashbury Lodge from Dec 2023 until Mar 2025. The care team at Ashbury Lodge are incredible, and they have been very pragmatic and respectful of my Mum's dignity as she came to terms with needing dementia support. At all times, I have felt my Mum was safe, and there
was amazing interaction with the NHS practitioners to give my Mum a care package that was constantly adjusted to her developing needs. It has felt like there has been a high staff turnover, but this appears to be normal with care homes/care work, but I firmly believe Ashbury has always provided consistent care. The management team have always listened and reacted to feedback. My Mum has moved to a another Care Nursing home now as her medical needs have escalated, and the support from theAshbury Lodge Manager and her team during this transition has been incredible. I firmly believe that Ashbury Lodge is the best option in Swindon for a person with dementia care needs.

The residents seem to be comfortable and looked after by the staff in this home. What is of concern is the large turnaround of staff at present - every time we visit, there seems to be someone new, this home is currently on its fourth manager in two years. Sometimes there are residents left in the dining/lounge
area without any staff to be seen, some of these people are quite vunerable.

Ashbury Lodge does pride itself on the excellent care that is provided within the home. activities are twice daily, 7 days a week, please take a look on our social media page or our individual memory books. We have carers that have been with Ashbury Lodge for many years, staff do work between both floors, you may see different staff on different days. Following lunch, which is when you visit, staff assist residents to the bathroom, rooms, we always have a carer/senior within or near the lounge. We have a 4 week rolling menu, the chef has worked very hard, listening to the voice of our residents ensuring they have nutritional home cooked meals. I am a new manager to Ashbury but not to the company itself. We have regular family meetings which you are more than welcome to attend, please stay for the activities or a meal with your friend at any time. I do have an open door policy so please come and have a chat at any time.Regards

My father has recently become a permanent resident at Ashbury Lodge and we were made very welcome by the staff and management. The staff are extremely caring and compassionate and work very hard to support each resident. My father is well cared for in a safe homely environment.

My mum was in Ashbury Lodge for three years until she passed away. Their care was excellent. She was always clean and never had any pressure areas. They were with her when she died, and I had the sense they really cared about her.

My mother was in Ashbury Lodge for 2 years and 5 months and she was treated with so much love, care, support and dignity. I personally couldn't have wished for her to have been anywhere else, she felt so safe, and I know she enjoyed being there all that time your staff were all so kind and caring towards

I have always found Ashbury Lodge to be extremely accommodating.
The staff are attentive and caring and the food provided is home-cooked with a varied menu. The home itself could benefit from modernising as some areas look a little tired but I can’t fault the staff who are always upbeat and friendly

All the staff are welcoming and very supportive with all mum's needs which have increased over the past few months. My mother-in-law has been a resident of Ashbury Lodge for just over two years now. Due to Covid, it was never intended to be her permanent placement but they made her feel so welcome and she settled so well, she asked to stay.
My mother-in-law has formed lovely friendships with both fellow residents
and the care team responsible for her care. As her dementia advances it is very apparent the level of trust and rapport she shares with her care team and quite simply we consider that to be priceless....their patience, kindness and empathy is endless and we are extremely grateful to them all. As other health issues creep in we are reassured she is closely monitored and receives medical attention if required. We have always been supported by all levels of staff at Ashbury Lodge through some very difficult and challenging times which we are very thankful for. As dementia takes my mother-in-law further away from us we cannot thank everyone enough at Ashbury Lodge who try to keep her smiling!
