Ashbury Lodge is a family-run, private care home on the outskirts of Swindon, catering for 42 residents.

Long term residents are invited to personalize their room, which includes bringing in favorite or treasured items.

Both floors cater for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia who need extra care.

Every floor functions as a separate unit within the home. All staff are trained in the care of those experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Meals are varied and nutritious and prepared daily by the home’s on-site resident chef and food is sourced from local suppliers. Residents are able to choose their own meals whether that’s down to dietary requirements or personal choice.

There is also a garden enabling residents to enjoy sunny days, or short walks fro fresh air.

We were made very welcome when mum arrived. The staff were very attentive to ensure she felt at home. They were also keen to ensure they understood her needs and medication.

I feel more positive regarding my father staying in this home, although very ill, he responds to carers and that's a great feeling for me. The home is clean, tidy and always a good atmosphere which is obviously down to happy staff being able to work together on a daily basis, where would we be without
these angels (carers and other staff)? I only have praise and thanks to all concerned. So all I can say now is thank you.

Accommodation good. The food is good, nice garden. There is a nice view from the community room. Friendly staff. My mother has settled well after a difficult start.

Very happy with the home, my Grandmother has been a resident since 2008 and is looked after very well by staff who are always there to help, always happy and very caring attitudes. The room and home always seem clean and tidy and in a very good decorative order.

The staff looking after dad are friendly, attentive and are easy to talk to regarding dads care. The home is clean and tidy and any requirements are dealt with quite quickly. We are pleased that dad has settled in and seems to have a few friends. If relatives are unsure where to place there loved ones,
this is a home to be recommended.

Ashbury Lodge staff and management helped my dad through a very difficult time. Staff took time to understand his dementia, personal wishes and interests. Care and compassion throughout. I had total peace of mind that dad was safe and well.

I am usually the first face to visitors/ professionals who come to the home. My role is to support one manager and one deputy and deal with all the administration work for both the residents and staff in the home.


I enjoy my job as it's varied but extremely busy, staff are always willing to help out cover shifts when I ask, so the home is run effectively. When I have time, I enjoy getting involved with the residents’ activities and seeing how much they get from what we do for them.
