Mom was moved to a different room and does not know how to work the push taps in the bathroom. I have asked carers twice now to please just stay in with her in the morning when she dresses long turn on the tap and brush her teeth and rinse her month and I can see it's not been done.

My wife is a resident at Downs View and I am comforted by the care she receives. Every one dealing wirh her knows her problems and treats her with care and compassion. As she becomes more dependant on the staff they accomodate her needs. This was brought home to me abruptly at a recent hospital stay,
where paliative care was the initail responce from the consultants, the staff on general ward did their best but were under constant pressure and unable to give the care that she enjoys at Downs View. Once back she recovered.
God bless the people at Downs View.

I was so grateful that Avebury agreed to take my partner for 2 weeks. He had been in the hospital for 8 days after some falls. Leaving him feeling very confused, not knowing where he lived and wandering around all night (after sleeping all day!) - I am 84, needed to get some rest to continue his care,
he lived with me for 8 years after I suggested he should stay with me after his hip replacement - he stayed! bless him.

My dad was placed at Avebury House following a long hospital stay, we've now moved dad to be closer to all his family as Devizes was a long way out and we couldn't visit as much as we'd like. I have to say Avebury House were fantastic and Dad was very happy there, he was well cared for, he thought so
highly of all the staff, everyone went above and beyond to keep dad happy and to ensure he had everything he needed. I was always contacted if dad was unwell or if there were any concerns in regards to his health/wellbeing, dad was so sad to leave here and even though he's in a lovely new home, he often tells me how he misses Avebury House, the staff and the food. I really can't thank everyone here enough for making sure dad had a happy settled year and a half with you, thank you

Mum has been at Ashbury Lodge for two years now and is really happy there. Before she lived there, she was scared, angry, defensive and her life had reduced due to her Alzheimer's but I feel the care is satisfactory and all activities she has at Ashbury have opened up her life again. She is safe and
secure, her medical needs are met and she is even trying activities she would never have done before (eg dancing). She had become quite isolated, but I also think the company has done her the world of good. Thank you.

My mum stayed at Ashbury Lodge for approximately a year. All the staff are wonderful and really take care to ensure their residents are safe and feeling content. They go out of their way to encourage residents to take part in the activities they have going on. My mum really enjoyed the chair exercises
and the singers that came in to perform. She also made some lovely friends. Unfortunately due to my mum's illness progressing, we had to move her into a Nursing Home (under the same Care Home umbrella). The Care Home Manager was fantastic in supporting us with the move, she really cares about all the residents in the home and will go out of her way to ensure the best outcome. Thank you everyone!

My husband came to Church View needing complex nursing care. Every member of staff were very kind to him and treat him with great respect and met with all his requirements. He was bed bound most of the time and unable to eat so cannot comment on this.
Unfortunately he passed away but so pleased that
he was so well cared for in his last days. I also received lovely support from Manager and all the staff.

The staff worked very hard and treated my mum with care and dignity. They treated her with love and tried hard to make her happy. Dementia made my mum very difficult and challenging at times but this was dealt with by Ashbury Lodge as well as they could. My only comments are that I felt the staff were
under staffed and the continuity of care with some staff members wasn't there. Mananagement were also a bit distant. 95% to the hard working staff members.

My dad had a very unsettled time before coming to Ashbury Lodge at the beginning of March. However, he has now really settled into the home, which I found to be a very friendly and welcoming place. It has such a homely feel and all staff are friendly and professional.
I feel confident that all his

My Mum was a self-funding resident of Ashbury Lodge from Dec 2023 until Mar 2025. The care team at Ashbury Lodge are incredible, and they have been very pragmatic and respectful of my Mum's dignity as she came to terms with needing dementia support. At all times, I have felt my Mum was safe, and there
was amazing interaction with the NHS practitioners to give my Mum a care package that was constantly adjusted to her developing needs. It has felt like there has been a high staff turnover, but this appears to be normal with care homes/care work, but I firmly believe Ashbury has always provided consistent care. The management team have always listened and reacted to feedback. My Mum has moved to a another Care Nursing home now as her medical needs have escalated, and the support from theAshbury Lodge Manager and her team during this transition has been incredible. I firmly believe that Ashbury Lodge is the best option in Swindon for a person with dementia care needs.

The residents seem to be comfortable and looked after by the staff in this home. What is of concern is the large turnaround of staff at present - every time we visit, there seems to be someone new, this home is currently on its fourth manager in two years. Sometimes there are residents left in the dining/lounge
area without any staff to be seen, some of these people are quite vunerable.
Reply from lisa Guy, Home Manager at Ashbury Lodge

I am very sorry to receive your comments. Ashbury Lodge does pride itself on the excellent care that is provided within the home. activities are twice daily, 7 days a week, please take a look on our social media page or our individual memory books. We have carers that have been with Ashbury Lodge for many years, staff do work between both floors, you may see different staff on different days. Following lunch, which is when you visit, staff assist residents to the bathroom, rooms, we always have a carer/senior within or near the lounge. We have a 4 week rolling menu, the chef has worked very hard, listening to the voice of our residents ensuring they have nutritional home cooked meals. I am a new manager to Ashbury but not to the company itself. We have regular family meetings which you are more than welcome to attend, please stay for the activities or a meal with your friend at any time. I do have an open door policy so please come and have a chat at any time.Regards
