My mum is very happy at Horton Cross Nursing Home. She has been here for 3 years and has a lovely room with a view of the garden. She loves the activities daily and enjoys particularly the musical ones, quizzes and baking. The carers know both mum and family well and are welcoming, fun and work together
as a team. From the management to the domestic staff, mum loves the choices for meals that are offered, as well as snacks! A warm, cosy environment, which has recently been updated into a bright, freshly decorated place with new fixtures and fittings.

My relative has been living at Horton Cross Nursing Home for over 3 years and would not want to be anywhere else! Well cared for with regular reviews and meetings with relatives. The home offers a welcoming and very caring environment for our relative and family when visiting. The food is prepared well
and provided in a tasty and appropriate way for her dietary needs. The management are experienced in all areas, the home has recently gone through extensive changes with redecoration, fixtures and fittings and training for staff.

Service user was distressed on my arrival, slumped in a chair unable to move as the chair was reclined. Uncomfortable and in pain. I pressed the button for help. After 20 minutes had to go and find staff. No staff at all on the 2nd floor found someone who then took 10 minutes to attend service user
who was in tears. If I hadn't visited she could have been left for much longer. No manager to talk to onsite.

On the whole, the care is very good. The care staff are kind. Night care staff are noisy which can be disruptive to sleep. Would like Dad to have a shower/bath more often. He says people are constantly coming in and out when he's in the shower which he does not like. All staff are friendly and helpful.

There has been a marked improvement to the services at Horton Cross since having been taken over by the new manager in February this year. My mum is very well cared for and enjoys all the activities now available. The staff keep me well informed of any changes to her care and well-being.

My father-in-law has been at Horton Cross for over a year now and has always received very good care. If he's ever had to be admitted to hospital I have always been notified straight away and given every detail about what happened and what the staff had done. The home itself is always very clean and
tidy and has recently had some upgrades. All staff seem very nice and attentive. If there's ever any medical issues or updates on health, someone always rings me to explain everything in full.

My mum was a resident of Horton Cross from the end of February 2020 until 1st June 2021. During her entire time at Horton Cross, both she and us as a family were met with nothing but love, care, kindness and endless patience from all the staff. It is impossible to name all the staff who cared for mum,
but thanks must go to the staff and the nurses, who I know were instrumental in ensuring mum was comfortable and happy. Also thanks to the Manager and Deputy. If Mum became poorly, I was notified immediately and medication was obtained and given within a few hours, and when she suddenly took a turn for the worse, we were able to spend her final few hours with her, the staff were kindness itself.
If you have a relative or friend who needs the sort of love and care you would wish for yourself, send them to Horton Cross to be looked after by the best bunch of angels you could wish to meet.

My mum had vascular dementia and stayed at Horton Cross Nursing Home until she passed away on the 15th March 2017. Words can't really do it justice how grateful we are as a family to all the staff there. All the staff were amazing, caring and gave my mum the best of care. I would 100% recommend to anybody
that has to find a brilliant nursing home for their loved one to pick this one
