Overall Experience

I highly recommend Mountbatten Nursing Home. My Mum spent the last weeks of her life there from Feb2026 when The Home agreed to take her in for palliative care. The Manager Shanaz went above and beyond, and over a weekend too! They looked after her so well that in the first 24 hours, her condition improved. The staff are highly qualified and experienced, friendly and welcoming. They create an atmosphere that feels like it's a family home, and they all seem so happy in their work there. The care staff treated Mum with patience, kindness and dignity ensuring that she was always as comfortable as possible and responding to her needs with respect. I would also like to thank Leanne for the way she handled Mum's final passing as she was present by her side when it happened. And then how she looked after us when we came to say our goodbyes and presented Mum beautifully. The kindness and professionalism shown by the staff at The Home made a very difficult time much easier to bear

Overall Experience

My dad spent his last few months here, and we were so happy with the care he received. The staff are incredible, they have big hearts, and I'll always be grateful for the way they took care of him. They knew and understood his care plan, and would always take the time to talk to me. I spent a lot of time in the home in the last few weeks and they looked after me too. I felt part of their family. The equipment for needs were modern and the garden is beautiful with calming views of the Quantocks. I also observed how they treated other residents and it was the same. For my dad to have his end of life here was the best decision we made. Thank you to all the staff at Mountbatten.

I can highly recommend Mountbatten Nursing Home. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who create a truly unique and welcoming environment within the Home. Most importantly, they offer an outstanding level of care provided by very highly qualified and experienced staff. The Home is always very well staffed also, with someone always nearby should you require any assistance. They are very proactive in putting on events and activities for the residents and family and friends are always welcome! There is always a feel good feel within the Home which is great for residents and visitors alike. The Manager there always has the health and happiness of the residents as her number one priority and will always go above and beyond for them, often at the expense of her own personal time. My client moved to Mountbatten from another residential home and she was a whole new woman within a couple of weeks of being there. The move to Mountbatten enriched her life greatly and it was a pleasure to see

Overall Experience
We were able to secure a place at Mountbatten for our very close friend. The manager personally went out to visit him to assess if she could meet all the criteria he required.
From day 1, the whole team, managers and even the directors were incredible.
Personal to him and his friends and family. Making everyone feel welcome.
A real family feel. I witnessed first hand how the manager created a family environment with her team and how that was then shown to the residents.
The care our friend received was 100%, including the laughs, songs just popping into his room with a friendly smile.
It all made the biggest impact to the time he spent there.

Thank you all again for such a high and consistent level of care and love shown to him and us all!!

Overall Experience

The Mountbatten nursing home is a small home with a good amount of staff. We visited a lot of homes in the area before deciding on this home and feel very lucky they had a bed available. Mum moved in in Feb 2025 and the room is very spacious with ceiling hoist and ensuite toilet. All the staff have been very kind, friendly and caring towards not just my mum, their resident but also all of us who visit her. Nothing seems too much trouble and you are made to feel welcome. The staff also create a fun atmosphere and seem happy coming into work. The food looks lovely and my mum has no complaints and a good appetite. She is also offered drinks on a regular basis and assistance with eating and drinking on the days she needs it. The lounge area can be a little on the small side if all residence are downstairs with not much space for visitors, but there is a large conservatory that can be utilized and a lovely garden when the weather is suitable. Overall very happy with the care mum receives

My father recently died at Mountbatten and had spent the last two years having great care. The staff were caring and considerate and always greeted us with a smile. Two ladies deserve a special mention because of their dedication and cheerful disposition. Keep up the good work.
