My mother was admitted to Camelot Care Nursing Home in January of this year, 2023. I was apprehensive as I did not want my mother to come into a nursing home but the dementia became unmanageable. I need not have worried. This nursing home is like home from home for my mother. She was bedbound on arrival
and is now up and dressed every morning and sat in the day room and walking small distances with assistance. She is clean and looks so much better and happier in herself. The dementia care here is specialist and all nursing staff and carers are excellent, friendly and extremely efficient and knowledgeable. They continually update me on my mother’s care. All the other residents I see are happy and relaxed and my mother enjoys talking to them in her own way. I looked around this nursing home first and was very impressed and still am. If you are dithering and find the transition to a nursing home for your loved stressful then visit Camelot and this will put your mind at rest and the staff will help.
Reply from Vasantha Nadesan, Director at Camelot CareThank you. We are so pleased that Camelot has been able to care for your mother. Will share this with the team at Camelot.

On arrival, I am always warmly welcomed and offered refreshments by the friendly staff. The level of care for my father seems to be very good and we are informed of anything that may have happened during the week. There have been some issues with his clothing but this has improved. Overall, we are pleased
with the care provided and thank all the staff for what they do.

I have found the care given to my mother to be of an excellent standard. She seems content in her surroundings now that she has settled down. The staff are very sympathetic to her needs and offer support and encouragement. I always feel welcome when visiting and the staff can always find time to chat
and explain things.

Mum is happy here and since the new entertainment lady has been employed the activities have improved. Lunches are good but supper is the same every day. A variety would be nice. Staff are friendly but I feel they could talk to the residents more or play simple games with them, as interaction is also
part of caring.

Staff are very pleasant, listen and deal with my request immediately. I find the home clean and tidy and well decorated. I am happy with my wife's care. Staff try their best to support my wife in every way. Happy with the food supplied, my wife enjoys it and eats well. I can review my wife's care plan
at any time and am informed of any changes in her condition. I recently had a review appointment with the nurse, it lasted 1 hour.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.088)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.088) out of 10 for Camelot Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Camelot Care is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.088 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Camelot Care is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.088
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
