Great customer care, shown my Nan her dignity and treated her very well. They created a great rapport with her including things my Nan was passionate about. My Nan is quite old school and proud and they helped her feel comfortable to wash and do things on her own
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you so much for taking your time to leave us this review i will certainly pass your kind words on to the team, taking care of your Nan was a great pleasure, the long respite she spent with us was always filled with laughter and banter, she is missed daily so i do hope that when she settles back home she can visit us on a regular basis and maybe watch a bit of football.

We have been with rosewood just over a month, whilst my grandad has been poorly I feel I have been kept in the loop once we've contacted the doctors.
We feel our safeguarding concern has been dealt with as best as they can to protect my grandad with polices and procedures.
We feel our grandad could
be stimulated a little more to try and keep his anxiety or worries at bay.
He seems to be eating more from when he was home.
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you for your Review, Safeguarding your Grandad is our priority which is why he is in our care, he has made good progress with us although he is a worrier and does get anxious, he tries his best to push himself all the time, like us all we have good days and not so good days but we will always be there for him on both, I too would like him to join in with our activities more, we do feel he does get so much out of observing others, we will never give up on trying to get him stimulated, photos to follow when we achieve this!
Thank you

When considering Rosewood with Mum for her long term residential care I read the reviews and wondered if they were true. They are - and other options considered were not in the same league of personalised care. Julie and her team prioritise resident welfare and happiness, they're skilled with complex
needs and do their utmost to accommodate a resident's requests. Mum has a whole new family to enjoy now, and she's thriving.
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you so much for your review, i will pass this on to my team, i am extremely proud of their hard work and dedication that they show to all at Rosewood, having an open culture at Rosewood makes it so much easier to apply our knowledge experience and passion to the care we provide as we can quickly give person centered care from day one, working with families closely has made us the caring team we are so i thank all for this,
your review will go a long way to giving the credit to staff that they deserve
Thank you

My brother has been in Rosewood care home for 5 months. When I first contacted Rosewood I was told I could visit straight away if I wished, which showed they had full confidence in their home. On arrival I was welcomed by the manager who gave me all the information I needed and was shown around by
a professional member of staff.
Since my brother has been a resident there he has received excellent care, been shown kindness and thoughtfulness by the friendly and professional staff.
My brother lacks motivation but the carers always encourage him whenever they visit him in his room.
Julie the manager and her excellent team are always welcoming and I am never made to feel a nuisance.
All members of the team are helpful and welcoming.
I know that I have chosen the right home for my brother and his needs!
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you so much for your Review, we are honored to Care for your brother as we are with all of our Residents, we have worked extremely hard and passionately in providing a culture of being kind, caring, thoughtful and proactive in all that we do, we also have an open culture which has played its part in creating the environment they live in, i will certainly pass this review on to the team and thank you again !

My mother has been a resident at Rosewood Care Home in Pensnett for around 18 months, and the care she receives is nothing short of excellent. Every member of staff is caring, professional, and clearly dedicated to what they do. They manage the varying health needs of residents with patience, compassion,
and skill, often going above and beyond what you might expect.
There's always an open-door policy with the management team, and I've never been made to feel like a nuisance, no matter how many questions I ask. The team genuinely care about the residents' wellbeing-Julie even takes the time to paint Mum's nails because it helps her relax, and Carol, who does the cooking, is always ready to lend a hand if Mum's mood changes.
It truly feels like a home from home. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect, and I couldn't be happier knowing that Mum is safe, comfortable, and happy at Rosewood. I'm so grateful to all the staff for the wonderful work they do every day.
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you so much for your review, the words are so kind, we are an open team and welcome feedback of all kinds, we aim high so learning from reviews is a lesson that we are prepared to partake in.
I will certainly pass on this review to all the team

My uncle's care has been excellent right from the start. Staff have expressed an interest in learning sign language to communicate with him more easily, which means a lot to him. The sleeping accommodation is home from home and can be personalised with pictures and calendars, etc, to give it a more
homely feel. He is really happy with the food and facilities, and really enjoys his trips out. Thank you for everything you do for him!
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you for your review of Rosewood. We pride ourselves on the care that we provide. Mum came to Rosewood in August 2025 for a care assessment following a difficult and worrying stay in hospital. Right from the start, the staff are the home made her feel welcome, seeing her as a much loved individual. We were concerned that she wouldn't settle and become angry and distressed instead
she flourished and regained much of her personality. She laughed, she sang and she made friends and my family and I can't thank Rosewood enough for what they did.
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you for your kind words. Your Mom is a ray of sunshine, always singing and always smiling. I thank you for allowing us the responsibility of caring for her. It was lovely to see her improve so much, and we hope she continues to fulfil her goals. We wish her all the happiness in her new accommodation, Julie and the team

My mother had 2 weeks respite stay. Her room was newly decorated and had far reaching view of the countryside. She particularly enjoyed the food especially the cooked breakfast each morning. The care she received was excellent. All of the staff involved, managers, carers, kitchen staff and housekeeping
were friendly and approachable. Maintenance fitted a lockable cabinet in her room so that she could maintain some independence by taking her prescribed medication herself. Communal areas looked a bit tired and would benefit from redecoration.
Reply from Julie Lane, Registered Manager at Rosewood Care HomeThank you so much. Having your Mom stay with us was a pleasure. The team are always very grateful for feedback so we can learn if needed. Your kind words go such a long way. Many Thanks, Julie and Team

Mum was originally provided a space here for respite care, a period of 2 weeks. She has since now been provided permanent care. The building itself doesn’t inspire and I would never have considered it if I were looking for care purely based on outward appearance. What an idiot I would have been! I cannot
recommend this place highly enough as the care provided is absolutely everything you would want for a loved one. The staff are all incredible! Mum was adamant she wasn’t going into a home yet she has settled so well and she is genuinely very happy here. Nothing is too much trouble and I cannot recommend Rosewood enough. Absolutely brilliant care from wonderful people.

Overall care was amazing. Staff were really caring and compassionate. They all do an amazing job. The cleanliness of the home was great. The only moan was my mother-in-law didn't get her hair done for two weeks as she was forgotten. Food always smelt amazing.

As a family, we chose "Rosewood" to be our mother's new home. Despite her very short stay here at "Rosewood", we know that our mom was cared for and all her needs met. On every visit, anytime, we knew that we would have a welcome from the staff, and we felt part of the "Rosewood" family.
We would
recommend "Rosewood" to anyone who is seeking a care home and peace of mind they would be loved and cared for.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.385)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.385) out of 10 for Rosewood Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.635 for Rosewood Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 115 Ratings = 4.635
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosewood Care Home is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
