Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We have found Victoria Lodge Care Home to be warm, friendly, clean and welcoming. The managers and staff are very efficient, understanding & quick to ammend any issues. Despite this being a difficult change for our sister they have done everything within their power to ensure her care needs both physically
& mentally are met. The building is always very clean, the staff are always focused on residents Care, the building is quite modern, nice outside spaces, a good sized car park, the decor inside the home is more like a boutique hotel (which is fantastic for both residents & visitors) the laundry service is very efficient and we have notice the residents are regularly offered drinks food snacks ect.

Overall extremely happy. If we had to bring something to any of the staffs attention they promptly dealt with it. All of the staff looked happy in their work and showed compassion. The evening our mum passed away/early morning we were treated with compassion and kindness, all of the staff came to see
us today when we cleared mums room to give us their condolences.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have had dealings with six care homes in the Dudley area concerning three of my relatives. I would not consider housing anyone in one of the homes but the majority were reasonably acceptable.
By far the best is Victoria Lodge. The home is exceptionally clean, very well run and the quality of care
and facilities are second to none.
All of the staff are friendly and make visiting an enjoyable experience.
I would highly recommend Victoria Lodge as an excellent care home.

I have thanked the staff for their exemplary care they gave to my mother until the end of her life a month ago. They are a wonderful team and expert at what they do. My mother was so comfortable there and always laughing whenever I went to visit her. Thank you so much, God bless you all.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.909)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.909) out of 10 for Victoria Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.625 for Victoria Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.625
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.284 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Lodge Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.159
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked at Victoria Lodge for 11 years in August. I have progressed within my roles due to my hard work and dedication to the residents, staff, and families within the home, always happy to learn new things and take on new challenges. Working in care provides numerous fulfilling and challenging experiences, this provides personal and professional growth within the team. I enjoy giving our residents time and comfort to support them through days they feel lost, to sit and listen to them, giving reassurance that makes them smile and feel they are listened to, which makes a huge difference.

Ensuring our residents are happy and supported each day, improving their quality of life and always treating them with dignity, building relationships, and becoming a trusted companion, someone they feel safe with, makes our hearts burst. I enjoy working as part of a team, and everyone’s knowledge is different. Sharing this with other staff can have a good impact on their next shift, as they can always relate back to what they have learnt. There is always the opportunity to develop within the care setting and learn new things. Working as a team is to always support each other to keep up good staff morale in team building sessions working together and better communication.
