Thank you for your review. It is very disappointing that having tried so hard to fulfil your expectations and having exchanged in excess of 50 detailed emails with you and your sister since August 2020 that you continue to denigrate our incredibly hardworking and diligent team. I have emails from you praising our manager but now you publicly call her a "disgrace" and I personally felt I bent over backwards and could have done no more to address your wishes.
We do not call the hospital because when there are next of kin involved the hospital rarely if at all communicates with care homes about the patient, especially with their huge C-19 workload. Profuse apologies for not calling you but we were managing an outbreak of Covid in the home which meant many staff were off work self-isolation and the manager and admin were working 18+ hour shifts caring for our residents. We would ask readers to note that other reviews have a very different view of Holmer Manor and its staff team.
Thank you for your review. It repeats many of the issues in your sister's review. We do not call hospitals because when there are next of kin involved the hospital rarely if at all communicates with care homes about the patient, especially with their huge C-19 workload. Profuse apologies for not phoning - we were managing an outbreak of Covid which meant many staff were off work self-isolating and the manager and admin were working 18+ hour shifts caring for our residents."Mums belongings" were packed in plastic due to infection control regs and 100% ornaments were intact. To others, please believe this review doesn't portray Holmer accurately.
thank you so much for your kind review - very much appreciated.
Dear Hilda - thank you very much for your kind comments, which I will pass onto the staff team - it is our privilege to have your husband living in our home.
Thank you very much for your most kind review, which is much appreciated by all of us especially in these challenging times, it is lovely for the hard work of the staff team to be so generously recognised.
Dear Marilyn, thank you so much for your review which is really much appreciated. If you could let me know what we could do to make the rooms better, I would be most grateful as most have been refurbished in past 12 -18 months including new furniture so I am worried that we may have missed something. Many thanks, Geoff.
Dear Cate - very many thanks for your very kind review and I am delighted the visiting room is working so well for you - hopefully, in the near future, we will be able to dispense with it and resume some form of face to face visits. I will pass on your compliments to the team, thanks again.
Thank you very much for your kind review - we do understand your comments as we provide care for people with dementia. We hope we can have you back to say another time.

My name is Kate Smith and I am the Manager at Holmer Manor Nursing Home. I have worked in Health and Social Care since graduating in 2005, initially in supported living where I also gained my Masters degree. My first Registered Manager’s position was in 2009 when I commissioned an Extra Care Facility, and since then I have worked in a variety of roles as a Registered Manager. I have also worked as Regional Manager’s for care organisations and this has furthered my passion for providing high quality, person-centred care. I have recently come back to Home Management, so as to be closer to home and enable me to work in a home that’s good enough for my Mum – and I believe Holmer Manor is just that! My family are incredibly important to me and in my spare time I enjoy outings with my husband and our son, sunny holidays whilst reading a good book. If you would like to come and visit Holmer Manor, please feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to show you around our wonderful home.
Princy has been at Holmer Manor for 5 years and leads the nursing team and is overall responsible for all clinical matters . She is also involved daily hands on with the clinical care of any Holmer residents who need her.
My name is Tracy Jackson, I started care in 2021, my background is in mental health where I started as a support worker, moving into a deputy manager role. This encouraged me to become a little hungry for a higher position in care, so I completed evening college putting my self through My NVQ level 4. In the meantime I dedicated myself to helping individuals to manage their well-being with compassion and understanding. During this time the opportunity to become a registered manager become available ; after successfully gaining my registration, I remained in the role for 14 years. After a period managing a supported living service, i wanted to return to my passion which is residential care as part of the management of team of the wonderful Holmer Manor.
My life has been shaped by a deep commitment to care , whether in a professional setting or with my own family.
I enjoy time with my children and nine grandchildren, holidays away with my husband, in the caravan exploring the UK coastal lines. gardening, arts, and crafts. My favorite down time is a good book on a beach.
