My father has been in the care of Elmhurst since May last year. He has been cared for in that time beautifully, how any relative would like their family and loved ones to be looked after with care and dignity. He always looked well cared for and groomed. My father's condition makes it difficult for
carers to care for him with personal care, but they did it with professionalism and thoughtfulness. As a family, we could relax and know he was receiving the best of care. Thank you to all the staff that made it possible.

Our dear friend was in Elmhurst for 2 1/2 years. On the day she went in, a beautifully presented room and a lovely vase of fresh flowers. The care - dignity and compassion she received from carers - admin cleaners - kitchen staff and all involved were exemplary, especially in the last six weeks - also
the empathy shown to us when visiting was quite humbling. How fortunate that such a care home was available when our 'loved one' needed support.

I could not believe it when I visited Elmhurst with a view to taking my sister into their care. Friendliness, decor, and cleanliness, all she would need to be provided, trained nurses and wonderful carers. She quickly settled in and joined the social side provided. From the first day to her last, she
had the very best care and affection from all. As for myself everyone always had time for me, if just for a chat, I was made so welcome and they were so kind to me at the end of my sister's life. I knew I had found the very best place for my sister to live out her last years.

My father found moving from his own home difficult but the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help him settle in. We always felt confident that my father was receiving the best care. All staff were friendly and helpful when we were visiting. Highly recommended.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support given to my father during his residency at Elmhurst, by all the staff. From my first meetings with the management, then nursing staff, carers, chef, reception and maintenance staff, nothing was ever too much trouble to make my father comfortable.
Always kind and caring they went above and beyond in the care and support given, and living abroad myself, it was of the utmost importance that I had confidence in his care. Visitors were always welcomed at any time, and most importantly the staff were always cheerful, chatty and full of information. I could ring at any time and the staff would always know me and would be able to give a fully informed update report on my father's health and well-being. The facilities were bright, clean, airy, and most of all cheerful. The equipment supplied was comprehensive, and the catering excellent, with an impressive menu and selection. I cannot thank, or speak highly enough of Elmhurst's care.

I cannot praise this facility highly enough. Not only are the buildings bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean but the staff are in a league of their own. They are ALL so caring and helpful to the residents and their relatives. Nothing is too much trouble - they go above and beyond in every respect.
As a family, we were confident that Dad was being given the best possible care. He was happy and felt safe and valued. Visitors were welcomed and made to feel part of the 'Elmhurst Family'.
Sadly our dad passed away recently but the staff extended their caring ethos to the whole family, making the process of saying goodbye as easy as it could be.
I would recommend this residential home to anyone and everyone. It is outstanding in every category but especially the staff. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave my dad and hope they realise how very special they all are and how appreciative our family is.

I've found Elmhurst Care Home the cleanest and most comfortable nursing home I've been in. My husband couldn't be more cared for with all the staff being kind, thoughtful, caring and mindful of his dignity. The general feel is of a warm, safe and comfortable place to be and the food is wonderful! Very
tasty and nicely presented every day and I really enjoy the meals when I eat there. My husband has to have pureed food which is always presented nicely with potatoes piped out on his plate and veg arranged to please the eye too. Staff all seem to get on and work together, no matter what their job and are always cheerful and helpful to all residents. Elmhurst produces a monthly, roughly 16-page newsletter containing residents' celebrations with photos and also photos of animal visitors showing the delight with which they are received. The back page has a list of activities provided every day of the month, all of these tempered to the (limited) abilities of all residents.

My husband moved into Elmhurst Care Home in January of 2023. The care and attention he receives is second to none. He is always clean, clean-shaven and very well-fed. I have no complaints whatsoever. In my opinion, it is the five star of care homes. The home is spotless, including his ensuite room.
He is treated whenever it is needed. The staff will go above and beyond to make him as happy and comfortable as possible.

My father moved into Elmhurst Care Home on 11th January 2022. The care he is receiving from all of the staff is excellent. The home is perfect, we can't fault it. We can't put into words how happy we are with his overall care. We fail to understand why the rating for Elmhurst is classed as good, in

My mum has been a resident at Elmhurst Care Home for over eighteen months. The care she has received has been exemplary. the staff are caring, compassionate and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The standard of the food and activities is excellent. They are easy to communicate with
and very supportive. The surroundings are wonderful. Elmhurst has always felt like a home from home to my mum. I cannot recommend Elmhurst Care Home enough.

I have been coming to see my brother since he came into the home. Every visit I made to see him from the main reception to where he was I was welcomed with kind words and a smile. The rooms were clean and well-furnished. My brother is being looked after extremely well which the family do appreciate.
For any person who needs to go in a home, I would definitely recommend Elmhurst Care Home who have first-class staff working there.

My previous experience with any care home was nil, until 2019 when I suddenly realised that I needed one to care for my wife. After visiting others within my area, it became apparent as to which was the most suitable. When we were accepted at Elmhurst Care Home it turned out to be the best possible
answer to our prayers. The 200 words permitted fall far short of those necessary for me to show my gratitude.

My father-in-law became a resident of Elmhurst in August 2022 after a long period of time in hospital due to his dementia. Since his move to Elmhurst and under the care of the Elmhurst team his physical health has improved dramatically. He is far more able. He is happy. He is eating and gaining weight
again. We are confident he is being looked after exceptionally well. From the moment you are greeted at the reception all the way to speaking with the nursing staff you can feel the care and nurturing nature of the whole team. Everything is geared up to giving their residents the best standard of welfare possible, in a warm, friendly atmosphere. All the team can describe how my father-in-law is doing, what he's been up as well as what his likes and dislikes are. Placing anyone into a nursing home is a daunting task but the management team there are always willing to spend time talking to and supporting you so you can be confident of the care your relative is receiving.

A lovely nursing home - disciplined and careful about Covid practice. My father has really well cared for. The care has been kind, compassionate and very personalised. The staff are approachable and keen to help. My father has been very lucky in finding this place.

Mum has recently passed away, and my memories of Elmhurst, the management and the staff will always be of excellence, professionalism, kindness, caring and fun. I had the highest confidence that Mum would be well cared for; which was particularly important as we live away.
From the very start, she
was made very welcome and quickly settled in, enjoying her interactions with the staff and making friends with other residents. Mum often commented how kind everyone was and how she was enjoying her lady’s life.
The home is well presented and maintained. The staff are bright, cheerful, very helpful and accommodating to visitors. They are knowledgeable, and I am grateful for their excellent advice.
The entertainments team are very ably led, enthusiastic, innovative and, perhaps, more importantly, full of fun. We always enjoyed reading about the monthly activities and future plans. We shall miss the newsletter and its quirky anecdotes.
I have no hesitation in recommending Elmhurst to others.

Job Title: Registered Manager

Elmhurst Care Home is managed and led by Mrs. Paula Riley. Paula has many years’ experience within the health care sector; over 20 years as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Paula is both a Registered Mental Health Nurse and holds a degree in Specialist Practitioner in Community Health Nursing. Paula’s career has focused on working with older people with mental health needs in hospital, care homes, and community-based services, including assessing and reviewing clients with complex health care needs on behalf of the NHS, and working as a Registered Manager within a small care setting. Paula’s experience and knowledge underpins her passion and commitment to working with older people and providing a high level of care.
