Elmhurst Care Home

We placed my husband's sister in Elmhurst Care Home in late 2022 as she was a widow with no children and could no longer manage to live safely on her own. We visited about 8 different Care Homes in the Shropshire area and were immediately impressed by the friendliness, cleanliness and caring professional attitude of the manager and her staff at Elmhurst. It exudes an atmosphere of calm, warmth and bright caring activity and the home itself is tastefully decorated and welcoming. The staff themselves go out of their way to be helpful and cheerful.

Came to visit my father who is 94. Poor short term memory and now uses a walker. Elmhurst is clean and well furnished with no "institutional" feeling. The staff are very communicative without being indiscreet. They understand my father needs robust conversation rather than simple cajoling

We visited Elmhurst Care Home half a dozen times in June & July. As on each occasion the staff demonstrated their caring nature and their willingness to help, we wish to acknowledge this and give the Elmhurst Team the recognition they deserve. Since my mother also appears happier than where she was before, we're most grateful that facilities like Elmhurst actually exist.

I once asked a senior nurse how they managed to have such a good team her reply was "we have a very tight selection process and while there is a perception that anyone can get a job in care they can't here!" and it shows

First class in every way.

Their home is spotlessly clean, and the food always looks appetising and smells good. My sister-in-law is very happy in her new home. I cannot comment on the value for money as I don't know the cost, but whatever it is it is worth it.

Staff highly visible and interacting with residents whenever I visit. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

My dear friend has been at Elmhurst for over 2 years. I have never found her unhappy or uncomfortable, as a nurse of over 40 years experience I am impressed with the care she gets - both physically and mentally. The only deterioration I have noticed is natural ageing. When I visit all the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The place is always spotless, bright and homely.

An amazing care home who supported and cared for my mum in the last week of her life. The love they showed for her was unbelievable, and I cannot thank them enough for making her so comfortable. The care home is immaculate and extremely well managed offering a calming space for all who visit, excellent staff, and food, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone .

Care staff are delightful! Nothing is ever too much trouble; they are worth their weight in gold! Lovely, clean and fresh accommodation, food looks lush. Would highly recommend.

We were so impressed with the care my dad got at Elmhurst. He was nearing the end of his life and couldn't have been in a better place to end his days. All the staff were compassionate and friendly as well as efficient and knowledgable in their role. All would smile and take time to chat and answer any of our questions. The atmosphere is calm and and respectful and there is a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building. There was often a lovely aroma of baking as we walked near the kitchen and the cake I tasted was delicious!

It was suggested by a professional care manager Elmhurst was the appropriate setting for mum and her dementia. March 2024. Mum arrived in April 2024, to date the experience has been first class. Driven by standards, compassion, empathy to better with practical implementation. That is hard to do - it's the whole team that make it work. So pleased.

Elmhurst provides a residents with a fantastic home where individual needs, wishes, are taken into account to ensure they are feel at ease in the terrific surroundings. Family and pets are made welcome at any time of the day. The staff are very caring and happy which in turn leads to a very relaxed environment.

Elmhurst is well run, has good facilities and is well maintained. The staff are helpful + approachable and the admin staff are flexible + adaptable. The place is run by a happy team of people.

I cannot praise this home highly enough. I visit several and this is way above any others in care provided, cleanliness, menu, outside space and friendliness of staff. From what I have observed on weekly visit, (on different days + times), nothing is too much trouble for the hardworking staff. All take the time to stop and say hello when visiting. They take great interest in all their residents. All treated as individuals. Just fabulous!

Bedroom just perfect. Beautiful view - food quite the best + gardens. Company very good - made many friends! Staff - the best.

We have appreciated what everyone at Elmhurst have done for mum and us as her family. We have been so impressed with the high standards you operate with throughout your business. We understand how difficult this task could be when there are so many facets to your service and where it involves a lot of very different types of staff interacting with one another under often challenging conditions. From a visitor's perspective we have always been impressed by how your staff have made our visits comfortable and enjoyable. Well done Team Elmhurst!

I will miss my interactions with all your lovely staff. Thank you for making mum's last months so pleasant for her. We appreciate that she may not have been the easiest person to interact with at times but she carried a lot of burdens, and in the end, she was just exhausted. You dealt with her with patience and dignity and we are very grateful to you. Finally, mum loved her room and the view gave her enormous pleasure.

Whilst my father is still finding the transition difficult, he has nothing but good words for Elmhurst and its staff. I couldn't agree more. We both feel very lucky that he has been able to move here.
