The Uplands care home in Shrewsbury provides nursing care for older people and those with dementia.

Every bedroom is ensuite and has wifi as well as a nurse call system and a private telephone.

The care, compassion and kindness shown and given to my mum was amazing. Mum needed respite care and I have no doubt that the speed of her recovery was mainly due to her stay at the Uplands. Every single person who came into contact with mum were first class.

The care my mum received at The Uplands was excellent. The staff who looked after Mum were always considerate, respectful, patient and so kind. In the last few days of Mum's life, they supported all the family with sensitivity and compassion. The Uplands is outstanding.

Mum spent her last 5 months at The Uplands happy with her robotic cat Tiddles, it was a hard decision but she actually flourished within the care of "her Nurses" and we were able to visit most days despite covid and we are very grateful for all the staff's most capable professional care it made the
journey so much easier for us all. Thank you.

My mother had an amazing stay at The Uplands. I went in three or four times a week and noticed all the staff spoke to residents in a jolly and friendly way and couldn't do enough for them, including cleaners. Front desk - always helpful. Food - what can I say, from a qualified chef, it was brilliant
- she loved the fruit crumbles. Well done The Uplands.

My husband has been a resident for over five years. He has been cared for in every possible way I would want. I am very grateful for this. I visit every day and see how well everyone of the residents are cared for on Dorrington Unit. I am a retired nurse, so feel I can give an honest opinion.

The care my husband receives is excellent. The home recently changed hands so things could change. It does need more permanent staff as it relies a lot on agency staff. I believe this is the case in all nursing homes. Regular, permanent staff are really important in dementia units. The regular staff
are all brilliant.

Following my concern for my Great Nan, all my worries were put at ease after speaking with the home's manager.
She called me back very quickly and reassured me that my Nan is in capable hands. It's not easy leaving a loved one in the hands of a stranger and this is her first time so we want it to
be comfortable for her.
The manager assured me that my Nan is okay and is well looked after!

I joined Bondcare in 2020 as I had the same vision as them in regard to person-centred care for the residents of our homes.


Having started my career as a Registered General Nurse, I bring more than 20 years of nursing and managerial experience in the care sector.


I am excited to be leading a team of committed and compassionate individuals on behalf of Bondcare, I strongly believe residents should be at the heart of everything we do here and I will be leading the way in ensuring care is tailored to their individual needs.
