Abbey Court welcomes private fee paying residents, residents supported by the Local Authority and also those supported by the CCG.
Fees include everything needed for a comfortable, safe and secure life - including all care and nursing services, a wide variety of food and drink available 24 hours a day, (all special diets catered for), activities and range of entertainment and lifestyle programmes, all nursing and care staffing and a huge team of support staff including cleaners, administration staff, chefs and kitchen team etc.
The only extra costs would be those affected by resident choice - such as hairdressing, daily newspaper etc all of which can be arranged on request.
Abbey Court welcomes residents on the basis of a mixture of fees - eg., residents supported by Local Authority and a private top up are welcome. Our policy is to discuss each individuals circumstances to find the perfect solution - and we are always open minded to all solutions and options.

No set visiting times - there is an 'open door' policy to visitors at all reasonable times.
Visitors attending the home at meal times will be encouraged to eat with the residents to enable increased nutrition and food and drink intake wherever possible.
Celebration parties and special events meals and occasions can be organised and are always very welcome indeed.
There is parking on site - this can however become limited at some busier times and on days with special and family events at the home.
Further restriction free parking is available on Novi Lane, at the end of the drive way to the home, within easy walking distance.

Mandy has worked in the care sector for over 17 years, starting in the community as a support worker and then going on to study Mental Health Nursing at Keele University.
She has held mangers registration in her previous position and is proud to have achieved an outstanding rating with CQC and understands what this entails. Mandy is excited to work with the team at Abbey Court sharing her skills and knowledge and is passionate about how care is delivered. She is very focused on teamwork and empowering others to achieve their potential enabling a positive culture for growth within the workplace.
Dan is one of the most recognisable faces at Abbey Court, having been here man and boy. Having joined as a care assistant, he has graduated to his current senior role. Having completed numerous courses and qualifications along the way, he contributes both experience and knowledge to our home.
Dan is quite simply passionate about the home and enhancing the well-being and lives of all of our residents, and many hundreds of them over the years. On the odd occasion when he is not in our home or glued to a computer screen, you will probably find him in the garden, but this time glued to a good book!
South African-born Sandra came to the UK 16 years ago, although she has enjoyed nursing for 32 years. Although she worked in intensive and complex care in her home country for 12 years and in the UK for 10, Sandra is also trained and qualified in other fields such as psychiatry, midwifery and community skills.
Happily married for 21 years, her family is completed of her 2 sons. Having worked at Abbey Court for 3 years, her passion for elderly care is evident on a daily basis.
Carol began her career in 1975 as a Cadet Nurse. She wanted to progress in her career so trained to become a Registered Mental Nurse and then a Registered Nurse in Adult Health. Carol worked at Leek Moorlands Hospital until her retirement from the NHS in 2014.
She has now been working at Abbey Court for approx 4 years in the role of Dementia Lead Nurse. She also assists and works closely with the Clinical Lead Nurse.
Carol states that she loves working at Abbey Court due to the diversity of her role and feels it is a pleasure to look after our residents who are all different and have different needs, thus requiring her to remain updated with her skills.
Alison has spent most of her life working in care homes and has worked her way to her current role. Alongside her vast experience, she has also amassed a wealth of qualifications, including NVQs in Health and Social Care, Customer Service and Activity Provision.
When not at work Alison is kept busy – she has 3 children and 7 grandchildren, Rosie the dog and an allotment, all of which need a lot of attention!
Having worked in administration for nearly 39 years, her career has taken to a select number of local companies, and even to the Alton Towers Hotels. Lyn is a devoted Mum of 3 children, but also enjoys keeping fit, and running and is a gym goer…a busy lady! She still finds time though to work with charities close to her heart, notably the ‘Kieran Rutter Legacy Fund’ and ‘Race for Life’.
Hayley has worked at Abbey Court for a while and has progressed to managing the housekeeping team. She has completed professional qualifications in laundry operations and cleaning services. Hayley takes professional pride in ensuring the home is tip-top clean, and in leading her team to achieve this. She will be the first to tell you that she loves her job.
