My Dad is not your typical care home resident, he has other unusual needs. We as a family were extremely worried as to how moving to a care home would affect him. I am pleased to say that it has been a positive outcome and Dad settled very well and quickly due to the care and consideration he has received at Ashcroft.

Our Uncle was only a resident here for a short time, needed palliative care. During this time he was well looked after with care and dignity. The nursing team and staff were excellent. All our questions were answered and information provided when not available face to face (because of Covid restrictions) but over the telephone.

This home is going from strength to strength since the new manager has taken over. She has improved the service to no end. The staff are very caring, nothing is too much trouble for them. I have seen a big difference in Mom, she is very settled and says all of the staff are lovely to her. The manager works very hard and all the staff as well. The home is very well kept, clean and no nasty smells. These staff deserve to be recognised for their very hard work. They have kept the residents very safe during the pandemic. Thank you to you all.

My friend has been a resident for over 4 years. I have always been impressed with the care she has received. Also, the communication from the staff, if I needed to be informed, was/is second to none.

Mom has resided at Ashcroft Hollow since May 2014 and it has undergone a few staffing changes but a lot have worked with mom since day one. The staff are caring and treat residents in a respectful manner and for me always treat as individuals. Mom has been unable to converse due to a debilitating stroke but this didn't stop staff from understanding what mom's needs were by her mannerisms and just knowing her expressions. Sadly mom passed away in January (not Covid related) and her end of life care was second to none and I couldn't have asked for more. Throughout Covid one of the housekeepers video-called my sister and me twice a week and we were able to see and chat to mom right to the end, even Christmas morning. Above and beyond! From 2014-2021 a genuine home from home and currently at its best ever. The staff care and do their best at all times given restraints. To the nursing staff, carers and housekeepers and anyone that cared for mom we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My nanny has been in Ashcroft Hollow for over a year now. I am grateful for the loving care that the staff provide and how kind and generous with their time they are. The staff are very welcoming but they go above and beyond to ensure the residents' needs are met. During the lock-down, we have been unable to visit nanny but the staff have organised many video chats and have enabled us to maintain that close family bond we have. Words cannot describe how important this is to us and I want to thank all of the staff for helping us to maintain that vital link. It is wonderful to see how well staff get on with my nanny and she is clearly valued and treated like one of the family. Thank you for your continued care, you are all invaluable.

Overall Experience
Having viewed a few care homes during 2019, we had been disappointed until we visited Ashcroft Hollow. After a coffee and a tour, our relative relaxed and was enjoying her visit, as were we. The staff were welcoming and informative, the downstairs layout was bright and flowed nicely, facilities were of a good standard, fresh, home-cooked meals and a good standard of cleanliness throughout. Our relative was therefore happy to try Christmas respite in Dec 2019.
Within a week of residing at Ashcroft, we could all see the difference and benefit of the 24-hour support, great care and social friendliness Ashcroft staff were providing. What a difference. Our relative was so content, she decided to make Ashcroft Hollow her permanent home and has now been a resident for the past four months.

We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the dedication of the staff and management at Ashcroft Hollow during the covid19 lockdown. You are all doing a wonderful job. Thank you.

We found the care home to be very good in caring for our dad. He went in on 22nd May 2018 and lost his battle with dementia on 25th October 2018. They were especially good towards the end of life care. Staff were excellent.
