This week we arrived to see my mother-in-law (myself, husband, sister). We asked my sister could have a look around because we need to find somewhere for our mum. We are happy with the care our mum is receiving. Nothing was too much trouble, and all her questions were answered. We were not rushed at
all, and my mum was invited to go for lunch, so we cannot fault the staff and the service, lovely, warm and clean, staff so friendly.

As a family we feel Mum is extremely well cared for. Every member of staff that we have met so far is superb - all seem very happy in their work. The building itself feels like a 'home' rather than a facility - great decoration, etc. Entertainment and activities are superb. Staff member Jo is exceptional,
so is Lucy on reception. Alison is great with Mum. xxxx

Everything about this home is delightful, especially the management and the carers. The activities are excellent and very special, especially the trip to the pub for lunch. The meals at the care home are something to be savoured, the cook I must express my thoughts on what a wonderful chef they have
at The Firs. She presents beautiful food. What a lovely care home I have come into.

We struck lucky when we found The Firs for our mother. The home is very calm and bright and the lounges comfortable and welcoming. The care that our mother received was given with such love - the staff were looking after residents as if they were their own. We were happy and relieved to leave our mother
in their care.

My father was resident from August 2023 until his passing in October 2025. At first it wasn't easy for him having led an indipendant life. The care/support he received was second to none. It was comforting/reassuring to know that he was in good hands and being well looked after I have no hesitation
in recomending Meadowfields to look after, in a good/proper way, a family's elderly/dependant loved one.

My mum was admitted to Lane House to have respite having broken her wrist at home. The care she received was first class and mum has been there as a resdient since January this year. All the carers are wonderful and the food is delicious, all fresh and home cooked on the premises. Entertainment is
provided each week as well as games (bingo which they love) painting and colouring which mum really enjoys. I would thoroughly recommend Lane House to anyone. It is home from home.

The home is always lovely and clean with no smells whatsoever. The staff are friendly, cheerful and clearly love the service users. Her room is always clean, the linen is spotless and is beautifully presented. I just wish we could put things on the wall for her to make it more personal. She always looks
clean and tidy and has her hair done weekly. I have no concerns whatsoever and feel confident she is in safe hands.

Exceptional nursing home from start to finish! We have felt very welcomed and supported since my grandma arrived. All of the staff have been so kind and attentive, and have always gone the extra mile, and have kept us well informed. They treat residents like family! We couldn't have asked for a better
or more dignified care home for my grandma. Thank you so much to Julie (who couldn't have done enough for us!) and her team. We are forever grateful and would highly recommend!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our mum spent the last 3 months of her life at Autumn House after moving from a care home. The care she was given was really excellent; despite being very frail she was transferred to a chair so that she could be supported to eat with other residents and take part in activities. All staff treated her
with kindness and respect and all her needs were met. Mum died at the care home and myself and my partner were present. The staff were incredibly kind and supportive to us; they communicated clearly and promptly with me so that I could travel to be with her from Yorkshire. Mum was supported to have a really good death at Autumn House. The staff on duty at the time, Emma during the day and nurse Grace and carer Linda were so kind and supportive to us all ensuring that mum had necessary medication and was comfortable in her final hours. They made sure that we understood what was happening, giving us food and drinks and we were given a room to stay in. We cannot thank the home enough.
Reply from Alex Hartles, Operations Manager at Autumn House Nursing HomeWe are deeply sorry for your loss, and it means so much to us that your mum's final months were spent in comfort and dignity here at Autumn House. We're especially grateful for your kind words about Emma, Grace, Linda, and the wider team. They will be touched to hear how their care and compassion helped both your mum and your family during such a difficult time.

Thank you again for placing your trust in us and for allowing us to be part of your mum's journey. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

The Firs is an excellently run and well managed care home. The staff are its greatest asset - they are caring, professional and thorough. They treat the residents (including my mom) with respect and maintain her dignity. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. All administrative issues are
dealt with efficiently and communication is first class. Medicines are administered diligently and daily activities are varied and excellent. A kind, caring ethos pervades the home embodied by the manager who is very much hands on and approachable. My mom has been extremely well cared for in the past year and my family are very grateful and reassured by the high quality of care of The Firs.
