We had cause to complain about the following issues: The resident needed her food to be cut up because of weak hands. This was not done on several occasions. We found her dithering with cold because of a faulty radiator. She fell out of bed one morning and broke her hip but an ambulance was not called
until the evening. The pressure-sensitive mat was not working on some occasions, and sometimes not even plugged in. She had a deep scratch on her collar bone which the home said was caused when she scratched herself. She had no nails. We were shocked to receive notice that the home had asked for a transfer, because of our constant complaints. Social Services refused this request when they investigated. Our relative passed away shortly afterwards and had obviously been unfit to be moved. We were rarely made to feel welcome by the staff, who we found to be negative and uncooperative. The accuracy of the information given when we telephoned was inconsistent.

First class Residential Care Home where my Mum has been residing for over two years now.
She has celebrated both her 98th and, in December 2022, her 99th Birthday at this lovely home where she is looked after so very well by everyone.
Really, I cannot praise or thank them enough. Mum is very comfortable,
clean and well fed and most importantly, she is happy being there.
I hope this review will assist and give confidence to anyone who is trying to choose residential care for a relative or friend. Its a lovely place to be!

Mum who is 89 years and suffers from dementia was admitted to Kings Bromley Nursing Home in September 2022. Prior to this, she spent 6 months in and out of different hospitals, she was extremely weak frightened and unhappy. 4 months later the difference is remarkable thanks to the wonderful staff at
the home. Mum is now happy and content, it's wonderful to see her being so well looked after and smiling again. The home is very well led and everyone works extremely hard and gives their absolute best. I cannot praise them or thank them all enough for the wonderful work they do not just for mum but for all the residents in their care.

My husband has been a resident of Kings Bromley Care Home since 2018. I cannot emphasise enough the wonderful care he receives. Nothing is too much trouble and he is always treated with respect and dignity. The staff are so kind and caring and I am treated as one of the family. I would not hesitate
in recommending Kings Bromley to anyone who is looking for first-class and friendly care for a dear relative.

My auntie suffered a stroke and has slight dementia. She has been at Kings Bromley since the end of September, she has made a few friends in the main lounge and at mealtimes. She loves the food, especially the puddings. She also likes some quiet time in her room listening to music. When we visit we
are offered tea or coffee and made to feel welcome. She is very happy in the accommodation. If she needs help there are always carers or nurses around.

My father sadly passed away on the 18th September 2022, having been a resident at Kings Bromley Care Home since December 2020. My father was a proud gentleman of 94 when he passed. The loving care and attention provided to my father during the difficult times of Covid and his frail and weakened state
of health was heartwarming to see every time I could visit.
These are the words I spoke, taken from my eulogy, at my father's funeral, I believe they say it all-
"The staff there (Kings Bromley Care home) did a fantastic job of looking after Dad for 21 months. It was so heartwarming to see their interaction with Dad, encouraging his usual cheeky winks and banter, followed by his puckered lip kisses into the air, for the ladies".
"The family owe the staff an enormous debt of gratitude".

Over the past 4 years, my sister-in-law/friend has received wonderful care at Kings Bromley. Though she cannot express herself she smiles a lot which to me speaks volumes. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I am always impressed by the wide range of activities provided and the fact that every
special occasion is celebrated. Their social media page is well worth seeing.

Would highly recommend Kings Bromley to anyone looking for a care home for a friend or family member. The care my father-in-law has received over the last 14 months has been excellent.

Mum arrived at Kings Bromley Care Home on her birthday. The manager called me before to understand as much about her as possible. Made to feel very welcome and special on her birthday. Mum has terminal cancer but has also lost the use of her arms through muscle degeneration myositis. The carers and
specifically the nurses, care for her with compassion, kindness and warmth and Mum told me she was very happy to be there. After her rapid decline in capability and diagnosis. Kings Bromley Care Home is very impressive home. Value for money: unsure of the cost as Mum was funded for her month there.

Kings Bromley Care Home is unique, the quality of care from every member of staff is exceptional and heartfelt.
The moment my husband became a resident he settled immediately, during his 17-month stay, there were many times he was unwell, and he was always treated with dignity, and they also, supported
me in these difficult times.
My family and I will always be grateful for the care he received.

Since we moved our mum to Kings Bromley Care Home in June 2019, we have been very happy with the level of care. Despite any challenging behaviour, the staff are so kind and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble, and importantly the care home manager is always available and fully connected/involved
in what happens " on the floor". The rooms are a bit small, and the home furniture is not luxurious, but it is the level of care and feel of homeliness that is so important.

My wife was looked after by Kings Bromley care home for 5 months, she suffered from advanced Alzheimer's dementia, the care she received was outstanding, with dignity, kindness, and attention to her every need, sadly she passed away, even this was handled with great kindness and understanding. My mother was a resident during July/August 2018 for Palliative / End of Life Care. ALL the staff are wonderful, kind, compassionate and they all made a very stressful time so much more easier to cope with. Not only do they care for the residents, they also extend the hand of care and support to the
residents family and friends. We cannot thank them enough.

My father has been a resident at Kings Bromley nursing home since March 2018 and his brother a few years ago. I would just like to say that the care and support my father and his brother received was excellent. I can not fault any staff member, they are all wonderful, caring and friendly people. Dad
passed away this morning, and I can not thank the nurses and carers and all the other staff, the morning cleaner and kitchen staff for their care, and support a special big Thank you to a particular carer, she gave 100% every shift always making dad smile.
The home is clean, some rooms are on the small side but adequate, the gardens are lovely and looked after, the entertainment lady she works extremely hard keeping the residents entertained daily. The office staff are very helpful always willing to assist with anything.
I would highly recommend Kings Bromley Nursing home for anyone who is looking for a quality environment and loving care.

My mother has been at King's Bromley for more than three years. I can't speak highly enough of the care she receives. She is genuinely happy there, feeling that she belongs in a warm, friendly, caring community. The home is run with great efficiency by the manager and her team, and the front line
staff - nurses, carers and other staff - are highly professional, hardworking and friendly. In more than three years of visiting my mother, I have never once seen a member of staff 'wasting time'; if they have an odd moment, they seem to spend it chatting to a resident. Communication within the home, and with residents' relations, is excellent. All staff are friendly, talking to residents constantly as they go about their tasks. Carers have a great deal of contact with residents all the time, and the atmosphere is cheerful, positive, and affectionate. The catering is outstanding. All the food is freshly cooked; my mother, who used to run a restaurant during WWII, maintains that it is 'well beyond restaurant standard'. Food is prepared and served in appropriate form for each resident. Residents seem to enjoy their mealtimes. Some sit in the dining room, others in the lounge or in their own rooms, depending on preference. Staff are constantly encouraging residents to be sociable, but respect the views of those who choose to be alone. Staff move cheerfully around, observing who needs support, and helping to feed residents who cannot manage themselves. The range of activities has widened recently, and most of the residents who are able will participate in memory games, dominoes, skittles, quizzes, sing-songs and other games. Ancillary services such as hairdressing, manicure, dental and optical appointments are well managed and reliable. The range of residents' needs is is diverse and it is pleasing to see that all are integrated, co-existing and helping one another where possible. It truly is a community, and my only wish is that every elderly person could look forward to care of this quality in their later years.
