My mom has been at King's Bromley Care Home for over two years. She is well cared for, all needs have been met. If I have any concerns they have always been resolved via management or the nursing team.
The carers are all really kind and helpful.
My mom is comfortable and content.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home for a loved one.

Kings Bromley Care Home is a brilliant place.
My husband has been there for 8 months and is being very well looked after.
There are lots of activities for residents to do.
I have had lunch with my husband many times and the meals are better than any restaurant.
All staff are very caring and kind to the residents.

I would recommend this care home.

I am related to and visiting a male resident at the home.
Since his admission his dementia has worsened and at times he can display behaviours that present as challenging.
I have some experience of these situations as a retired social care assessor working on an older adult social work team.
The staff at Kings Bromley have done their utmost to provide a stable and caring environment for my relative and continue to support him and his family, and keep his wife fully informed of any decision-making/events relating to his care.
Recently a meeting (online), was held to discuss and complete documentation for CHC funding.
I was very impressed by the senior nurse at Kings Bromley.

She displayed a deep understanding of my relative's complex needs and showed both professionalism and compassion.

I do not recommend this care home to anybody.
Recently lost my nani in February. The most kind, generous and gentle lady anyone could be.
Myself and my family made several complaints and nothing was dealt with accordingly.
A few examples, food being cut up as my nani couldn't use her fingers very well and this wasn't done. The safety of my nani as a resident was carrying a knife in his pocket who came into my nani's room whilst I, my husband and mother was present. Who knows what would have happened if we weren't there as there was no staff around. My nani's belongings going missing such as perfume and clothes and wheelchair went walkabouts which were being used for other residents. Neglect! My nani wanted the toilet and the carers refused and said she would have to wait until after dinner.
The list is endless, I could go on.

Ever since my nani came to this care home, she really deteriorated and her health went down. No communication, no care in this home. The home needs a new manager.

Overall Experience

We had cause to complain about the following issues: The resident needed her food to be cut up because of weak hands. This was not done on several occasions. We found her dithering with cold because of a faulty radiator. She fell out of bed one morning and broke her hip but an ambulance was not called until the evening. The pressure-sensitive mat was not working on some occasions, and sometimes not even plugged in. She had a deep scratch on her collar bone which the home said was caused when she scratched herself. She had no nails. We were shocked to receive notice that the home had asked for a transfer, because of our constant complaints. Social Services refused this request when they investigated. Our relative passed away shortly afterwards and had obviously been unfit to be moved. We were rarely made to feel welcome by the staff, who we found to be negative and uncooperative. The accuracy of the information given when we telephoned was inconsistent.

First class Residential Care Home where my Mum has been residing for over two years now.
She has celebrated both her 98th and, in December 2022, her 99th Birthday at this lovely home where she is looked after so very well by everyone.
Really, I cannot praise or thank them enough. Mum is very comfortable, clean and well fed and most importantly, she is happy being there.

I hope this review will assist and give confidence to anyone who is trying to choose residential care for a relative or friend. Its a lovely place to be!

Mum who is 89 years and suffers from dementia was admitted to Kings Bromley Nursing Home in September 2022. Prior to this, she spent 6 months in and out of different hospitals, she was extremely weak frightened and unhappy. 4 months later the difference is remarkable thanks to the wonderful staff at the home. Mum is now happy and content, it's wonderful to see her being so well looked after and smiling again. The home is very well led and everyone works extremely hard and gives their absolute best. I cannot praise them or thank them all enough for the wonderful work they do not just for mum but for all the residents in their care.

My auntie suffered a stroke and has slight dementia. She has been at Kings Bromley since the end of September, she has made a few friends in the main lounge and at mealtimes. She loves the food, especially the puddings. She also likes some quiet time in her room listening to music. When we visit we are offered tea or coffee and made to feel welcome. She is very happy in the accommodation. If she needs help there are always carers or nurses around.

My father sadly passed away on the 18th September 2022, having been a resident at Kings Bromley Care Home since December 2020. My father was a proud gentleman of 94 when he passed. The loving care and attention provided to my father during the difficult times of Covid and his frail and weakened state of health was heartwarming to see every time I could visit.
These are the words I spoke, taken from my eulogy, at my father's funeral, I believe they say it all-
"The staff there (Kings Bromley Care home) did a fantastic job of looking after Dad for 21 months. It was so heartwarming to see their interaction with Dad, encouraging his usual cheeky winks and banter, followed by his puckered lip kisses into the air, for the ladies".
"The family owe the staff an enormous debt of gratitude".

Thank you.

Over the past 4 years, my sister-in-law/friend has received wonderful care at Kings Bromley. Though she cannot express herself she smiles a lot which to me speaks volumes. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I am always impressed by the wide range of activities provided and the fact that every special occasion is celebrated. Their social media page is well worth seeing.

Mum arrived at Kings Bromley Care Home on her birthday. The manager called me before to understand as much about her as possible. Made to feel very welcome and special on her birthday. Mum has terminal cancer but has also lost the use of her arms through muscle degeneration myositis. The carers and specifically the nurses, care for her with compassion, kindness and warmth and Mum told me she was very happy to be there. After her rapid decline in capability and diagnosis. Kings Bromley Care Home is very impressive home. Value for money: unsure of the cost as Mum was funded for her month there.

Kings Bromley Care Home is unique, the quality of care from every member of staff is exceptional and heartfelt.
The moment my husband became a resident he settled immediately, during his 17-month stay, there were many times he was unwell, and he was always treated with dignity, and they also, supported me in these difficult times.

My family and I will always be grateful for the care he received.

Since we moved our mum to Kings Bromley Care Home in June 2019, we have been very happy with the level of care. Despite any challenging behaviour, the staff are so kind and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble, and importantly the care home manager is always available and fully connected/involved in what happens " on the floor". The rooms are a bit small, and the home furniture is not luxurious, but it is the level of care and feel of homeliness that is so important.

My mother was a resident during July/August 2018 for Palliative / End of Life Care. ALL the staff are wonderful, kind, compassionate and they all made a very stressful time so much more easier to cope with. Not only do they care for the residents, they also extend the hand of care and support to the residents family and friends. We cannot thank them enough.

My father has been a resident at Kings Bromley nursing home since March 2018 and his brother a few years ago. I would just like to say that the care and support my father and his brother received was excellent. I can not fault any staff member, they are all wonderful, caring and friendly people. Dad passed away this morning, and I can not thank the nurses and carers and all the other staff, the morning cleaner and kitchen staff for their care, and support a special big Thank you to a particular carer, she gave 100% every shift always making dad smile.
The home is clean, some rooms are on the small side but adequate, the gardens are lovely and looked after, the entertainment lady she works extremely hard keeping the residents entertained daily. The office staff are very helpful always willing to assist with anything.

I would highly recommend Kings Bromley Nursing home for anyone who is looking for a quality environment and loving care.

Felicia Bumbas
Felicia BumbasJob Title:Home managerJoined: 2011

I have over 30 years of experience as a qualified nurse, including more than 15 years working in the UK after moving from Târn?veni, Romania, in 2011. I began my career in hospital care in Romania, where I worked for over 17 years before continuing to develop my skills in the UK across a range of clinical and leadership roles, including clinical lead and deputy manager. Since November 2024, I have been the manager of Kings Bromley Care Home, a role that allows me to combine my clinical expertise, leadership experience, and passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I am committed to continuous improvement, supporting staff development, and creating a positive environment for both residents and colleagues.

I was drawn to a career in care by a genuine passion for supporting people during important and vulnerable moments in their lives. I believe care is about more than meeting physical needs—it’s about dignity, respect, and understanding each individual. What I enjoy most is leading and supporting my team to deliver the best possible care, while creating an environment where residents feel safe and valued. Building relationships with residents and their families and making a positive difference in their daily lives is the most rewarding part of my role.

My key strengths lie in maintaining high standards of care while keeping each resident’s needs, preferences, and dignity at the centre of everything we do. I am passionate about developing staff, building strong and compassionate teams, and creating a positive culture within the home. I place a strong emphasis on communication and work closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure care is well-coordinated and responsive.

My approach is based on compassion, respect, and open communication. I aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where residents, families, and staff all feel valued, heard, and respected.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through sport and love travelling to experience new places and cultures. I also value spending quality time with family and friends, which helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance.
