Overall Experience

My father was at Kenilworth Manor for 2 years. The carers were very kind and got to know him well with all his little idiosyncrasies! The nurses were attentive. The chef's excellent. My only concern is the poor administration, the home are efficient in setting up your contract and prompt about taking the monies each month (in advance of care being received). However. when it comes to final settlements there is a stonewall from the administrator, manager and finance at head office. Sadly my father passed away in September 2019. We are still waiting for final settlement of our account with Kenilworth Manor. This is despite numerous phone calls to the manager, contact with head office via phone and email and raising a complaint, which has never been answered. Finally, in February 2020 we were advised of the monies owed, but now in March are still waiting for a cheque to be sent which is needed for probate. Sad and an emotionally draining experience.

Reply from Philip Dutton, Director at Kenilworth Manor Nursing Home

Thank you for your review. Whilst I am pleased that you were happy with the care your father received whilst he was with us I am disappointed that we have not achieved the same high standards with our administration. I have looked into and settlement has now been made.

Overall Experience

My mother-in-law is 91 and has been in the home for 14 years. Throughout this time, the care she has received has been excellent. Being physically incapable of doing anything for herself, she has constantly depended on the care and support of the carers which have sustained her beyond her life expectancy. The food is of a very high quality. Considerable thought is given to the activities and entertainments which are varied and generally able to be enjoyed by my mother-in-law despite her physical disabilities. The 19th-century building has character and is set in very attractive grounds which the residents can enjoy. The homely atmosphere of the home is experienced as soon as you enter the home.

My mother has been a resident at this home for almost fourteen years. It is a very peaceful home in pleasant surroundings. She has received excellent care in this home and been very content with her quality of life in this place. It is a warm, friendly and homely place for her to live out her days and as her days and as a relative, I always enjoy visiting and am made most welcome.
