Springbank House in Chesterfield, is keen to look after the person and not their ailment alone and to do this, staff like to get to know residents and find out who they are and what they did during their lives.

All residents have an individualised care plan.

Care workers get to know residents' families too to understand the dynamics within the family in order to build trust.

Clean and comfortable room, with a wardrobe, chest of drawers ( in corner cupboard is a wash basin and toilet). Single bed two chairs (one easy) own tv efficient radiator. Room regularly cleaned and visitors are welcome.

Very friendly staff who my dad likes.
Worry about him spending so much time in his room alone but I know that is his own choice.
Dad often states he would like more regular showers as he showered daily at home.

My father has been here for four or five years; he has been well looked after by caring embers of staff and managers who seem to understand 'minor details' of his various habits and requirements. If I encounter issues they are dealt with quickly and professionally.
Similarly, the staff are quick to
contact me (I live around 70 miles away) to provide information or to identify any problems.
I would recommend this establishment.

The staff are always helpful and friendly.
They encourage my godmother to take part in arranged activities and respect her wants and needs.
When she has had periods of illness they are supportive for hospital visit etc.
She loves the food, which is good home-cooked food, prepared freshly on the premises.

Very happy with the way my mum is looked after.
She was not coping at home looking after herself.
I am no longer worried that she is not taking her tablets and feeding herself properly.
Mum appears to be happy and settled here and likes the staff.

Very thankful to the staff who care for my grandmother. Always kind, helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Great activities and they take to share photos with us. Really lovely home! Would recommend.

Mum has now been a resident at Springbank House for a year following a spell in hospital and five weeks at another centre.
At one stage mum was very poorly and we wondered if she was in a terminal decline. The care she has received has been so effective she is now eating, talking and smiling again
to the extent of joining this months trip to the seaside and enjoying it!
As a professional who has worked with buildings of this type for years, I am aware of the limitations an older property imposes and appreciate the way staff and management do make the best possible use of the facilities they have.

I have been visiting the home now for 18 months and during that time there have occasionally been some issues (one or two still ongoing), having said that the staff and management are always polite and do their best to address the problem. Food is good and plentiful, always a choice if the menu is not
to the liking. All in all a home run with good intentions and ideas, it gets a "yes" from me.
