So far, all the staff I have met have been warm, welcoming and ready to answer any questions I may have. My brother seems happy enough and is being well cared for, but I cannot comment further as it is still early days.

On a different note with the recent improvements I have seen at the home perhaps this will be done sooner than later. Finally, her son phones from the USA and the phone signal is very poor for that room IE cuts off.

My mother has only been a resident for 2 weeks. She went into the home from the hospital for a 4-week assessment with the possibility of becoming a permanent resident. I only had a day to decide if Amber Lodge would be a good fit for my mum, so I had a short visit and was impressed by the staff and the amount of staff that I could see around. They all seem to genuinely want to look after the residents and seem to have a lot of patience with them. If there is one criticism, it would be that it's very dated inside, and would benefit from a bit of an uplift in decor and a bit of fresh paint.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

My husband was placed at Amber Lodge in February 2026. I have found the staff to be very polite and caring and always happy to help. I do think it's a little out dated but that doesn't affect the quality of care given.

The new manager and deputy are a breath of fresh air and have made visible improvements at Amber Lodge. Communication is improving via email messages and updates now. Staff on the floor have always been brilliant with mum and continue to be fab with her. Unfortunately their brilliant activities coordinator recently left though so I am waiting to see what will happen in terms of enrichment.
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our previous Activities Coordinator - she's a valued member of the team and will be greatly missed by residents and staff alike.

Great staff, carers are fantastic will try to do anything to help where they can. They work so hard to look after the residents, They always contact the families if they are needed. Takes a lot of the stress off families to know their loved one are being looked after.

My mum has been a resident at Amber Lodge for over 3 years, in all of that time I have never felt any concerns for mums well being. The staff are very caring and efficient. The dedication and care they gibe to the residents is very reassuring. They have always got a smile and a cheery hello, and that's from all members of staff. They are also extremely safety conscious so you never find yourself worrying about their welfare. All in all, I cannot fault Amber Lodge. Well done, everyone.

My mum has been a resident at Amber Lodge for 7 years. Before her dementia progressed, she loved interacting with staff and taking part in activities. I feel that my mum is very well taken care of, some staff go above and beyond. The new manager is a breath of fresh air. If I ever have any concerns, the manager deals with them quickly. Overall, I am very happy with the care my mum receives.
Thank you for your kind words , the Team at Amber lodge enjoy caring for your mother and will continue to provide good quality care.
My wife has been a resident at Amber Lodge for the last 16 months, being cared for on a one to one basis. Due to her lack of cognition and poor vision, the staff and carers ensure she receives all the needs she requires. She was very active and walked a lot with assistance, but more recently spends a lot of time in her room, which is far more suitable than the temporary one she moved into for a few weeks. The staff and carers are friendly and competent, and ensure my wife has her meals, of which there is always a decent choice of food.

My wife has been in Amber Lodge for 15 months. As a family we are very happy with everything at Amber Lodge. Staff are wonderful and full of fun. All of her needs are being well attended to. She is eating well and is happy. It is a pleasure to visit and see her so content. Should be even better when the new extension is completed. No problems at all.
Hi,
Thanks for your kind words. We are happy that your relative is doing well.
I am so happy we found him a home away from home.
Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am so pleased that your husband has settled so well and that you feel confident in the care provided. We will continue to strive to make this his 'home from home' Thank you - manager and the team at Amber Lodge.
Amber Lodge is a home-from-home. Mum has been there for a year. We moved her from another home. We are so pleased that we did. The staff are like friends the food is excellent. New activities coordinator is doing a great job. The home is clean. It’s a care home and they do care.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments. I know the staff will appreciate them as they work hard to make Amber Lodge a home for residents.
Two mini donkeys and a collie, all very well-behaved - gave such pleasure to my mum and all the residents.
All the staff are so kind and caring. They really love and care about their residents. I'm always made so welcome on my visits to Mum.
A few days later, I visited Mum; she beamed her smile at home and said, "In all the places to love in Welby, I couldn't be any happier than here"!
Thank You.
