Happy with the care for my father at home, the staff is helpful and tries to give good care services. My father is happy with the food and the amount. Always tea and coffee available for him and for use who visit. When Father has had health problems staff have been on the ball to deal with it.

I have been at the Fountains Care Centre for the last three weeks for a four-week respite, I can't fault the Fountains. The food, the care and the cleanliness is of high standard everyone is always friendly and happy to help this would be my first choice if I had to come back for my permanent residence.

Reply from Katie Robinson, Manager at The Fountains Care Centre

Thank you for your great feedback. I will of course feed this back to all of the staff team in our March Team Meeting. It has been an absolute pleasure having you with us for your respite and we will of course welcome you back in the future if we are privileged for you to return. My mum recently moved into the Fountains Care Home and I honestly could not be happier. The staff from the lovely manager to the staff members who I now know by name and the cook are just such kind and caring people, the handyman is very helpful and always on hand. I could not be happier it has made what was from the offset a very difficult decision to make, the very best one for my mum. She is so settled and content. I have been able to turn her room into her room, surrounded by her special bits and pieces from her home to turn it into what mum calls a cosy place. So in conclusion, I am I would honestly say a very happy daughter with a very settled happy mum.

My husband was a resident at The Fountains Care Home for over five years and was looked after with care, patience and kindness. He enjoyed the activities very much especially visits from the village playgroup children. He also enjoyed games and visits from animals. In good weather, he liked to be in the courtyard garden and took great pleasure in feeding the birds.

Reply from Katie Robinson, Manager at The Fountains Care Centre

My sister has been a resident for 4+ years. She seems happy and contented in the home and has had no complaints that I am aware of. If she had, I am certain she would let me know when I visit. The staff are always helpful and friendly and are very caring towards my sister.

Reply from Kay Harrison, Manager at The Fountains Care Centre

Thank you for your review. We feel too that your sister is happy she readily communicates with staff and her friends as she wishes. She enjoys the garden and tells us she is looking forward to The Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebration. We will of course reflect to improve on your scores. I wish I had taken pictures of how bad this place was. As we waited over twenty minutes for a staff member to acknowledge my Dad being admitted for the first time in a care home. We counted the cobwebs and noted the broken handles on the dishevelled cabinet. When we eventually were let through to see where Dad would stay it got worse. The carpet was dirty, the window was tiny, signs of leaks on the ceiling, and the bed lining was worse than secondhand. In floods of tears, I walked Dad straight out of there. This place needs to be closed and a complete renovation.

A happy welcoming visit. It was wonderful to see my mam on several visits smiling, laughing and joining in with the activities, from bowling to joining in a parachute game with local nursery children who attend regularly to see their friends. On one occasion we wanted to do an afternoon tea. This was no problem, with a nice sunny room looking out onto the garden, so we could relax, have tea, a game of scrabble - normal family activities. Brilliant!

We were very pleased indeed with the care my uncle received at The Fountains. He was there for just the last week of his life, but everything that could be done was done to make him comfortable. His room was large, airy, light and clean. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating.

Don't be put off if you think some dining rooms a little dowdy - what really matters is the caring staff who look after the varied needs of the residents. The nurse we met clearly leads a very good team.

We chose The Fountains when we found ourselves in urgent need of care for my elderly parents. The team there couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. My advice to anyone would be to look past the decor to the important things like quality of care not only for residents but also for the families. They work as a team at The Fountains and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Mam was treated as an individual with care and thoughtfulness. As family we were encouraged to visit at times to suit us, nothing was a problem, we visit at different times and always find The Fountains Care Centre inviting and clean with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Mam enjoys the activities and the lovely gardens with flowers and birds around, I would recommend The Fountains as I am happy that my mam is so well looked after.

The Fountains is quite a "homely" care home and staff are friendly and considerate to residents needs. The new manager is very approachable, makes time to listen to any concerns and is open to suggestions. Mum has advanced Alzheimers and can be difficult at times but staff take this in their stride treating her with respect and dignity at all times. The home itself is a little old fashioned but this adds to its charm and comfort. The new manager has outlined to us changes she wishes to make which are all centred around the resident's comfort and wellbeing.

My great auntie has been a resident at the home for over a year now.
She is always smiling and enjoys the activities that are available.
Staff are friendly and approachable and are always available to answer my questions.
Rooms are clean and tidy and my great auntie has a room with a toilet which is handy for night time.
My great auntie appears happy living in the home and has made friends with other residents, it's nice to see her socialise again as when she lived at home she was unable to get out much.

Overall my opinion on the home is a good one, I would recommend to others which I already do from word of mouth.

My Mother has been staying in the Fountains since February 2012, and during that time I have had the opportunity to get to know some of the staff well. I can honestly say that I would not do their job for all the tea in China. I live over 5 hours away and yet whenever I phone to ask how mum is the staff here always take the time to reassure

me on all aspects of her health and well being. I visit when I can and am always greeted with a smile and a cheery hello. It is nice to know that mum is in such good hands.

My mother in law was a resident at The Fountains for six years. During that time, no matter when I visited, I never saw anything but respect and kindness shown towards the residents from the staff.

Our experience from February this year, when my mother in law's dementia was well advanced, and following her breaking her hip, was to see their care go 'above and beyond' what we expected. We had agreed with the doctor that she should just be kept comfortable and stay in bed. However, the staff persevered in managing to get her up in a chair for several hours a day in the residents' lounge, even got her sitting at the table in the dining room, helping her to eat. She had a few more months of a reasonable quality of life.

It was evident that the staff genuinely cared about her well being.

We have no reservations in recommending The Fountains to others.

My mother has been a resident at The Fountains Care Home, Tetney near Grimsby for nearly 2 years since the death of my father. She has severe dementia, diabetes and other age-related medical problems. Her condition is managed extremely well and we are very happy with the overall care she receives. The staff are caring and friendly and Mum is very happy. She always looks clean and well cared for and has her hair done once a week. She enjoys the activities and is happy to participate. Her room is clean and comfortable and she enjoys sitting in one of the lounges with the other residents. The Fountains is always clean and welcoming and we can visit whenever we like without notice.
