My stay at Homer Lodge was extremely helpful. It enabled me to get onto the road to recovery + independence. It was comforting that I knew there were always staff at hand who would show me aid if I needed it but would also encourage me to do it myself. All the staff from managers to domestic help were excellent most supportive and most pleasant. Naturally I wanted to be at home but I enjoyed my recovery there.
Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback about your stay at Homer Lodge. We are delighted to hear that your time with us supported your recovery journey and helped you regain confidence and independence.
It is lovely to know that you felt reassured by the support available...
my mother-in-law spent one month in temporary care at Homer Lodge. I was positively impressed with their security system, politeness and helpfulness of the staff at every level; with the care and attention given to my mother-in-law I wish the enterprise to continue their good work. In a single word: outstanding!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback.

Mum was placed here for STC in February following a fall, losing mobility and UTI resulting in a permanent catheter - whilst waiting for 4 visits a day homecare. The management and support staff ensured mum was looked after with dignity, she gained weight as a result of eating well, and her fluids went up too. After a diagnosis of VD, Mum is now a permanent resident. The transition was made so easy by the support of all staff during a stressful time for our family living away.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that your mum has been well cared for and supported with dignity during such a difficult and emotional time for your family. Its wonderful to know she has settled well, improved her nutrition and hydration, and that the transition to...
My mum came here recently for a short stay. She was made welcome from the very start. The rooms are spotlessly clean, airy and spacious with plenty of personal storage. Her clothing was laundered and returned to her, taking the pressure off the family. The staff are caring and treated her with dignity and respect. The food is lovely too. The managers are lovely and even gave her a sandwich to take home to eat later. I can thoroughly recommend this place.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation. We are delighted to hear that your mum felt welcomed, comfortable, and well cared for during her stay with us. Our team works hard to provide a clean, homely environment where every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion....
Staff always cheerful and helpful and ready to make sure the residents receive the very best of care. From the senior management down, standards in my opinion are top-notch. Very impressive. Thankyou for providing such a nurturing and respectful space.

My mum had such a lovely experience at Homer Lodge. All staff were caring, friendly, professional. They made my mums stay very welcoming. Physios came around regularly and a GP every week. So we knew mum was getting well looked after. A lovely lady entertained the residents every afternoon with various activities which my mum really enjoyed. If her family lived nearer she would have stayed. I would highly recommend Homer Lodge - The managers are making an excellent job of running the home.

My dad went to Homer Lodge for respite and physio after a spell in hospital. He was put on the 3rd floor at the end of the corridor for 3 days and nights. There was a constant alarm going off (obviously a resident was pressing the alarm although no one was attending). On the 3rd morning of him being there a carer walked in to his bedroom at around 7am, pulled his quilt off him then pulled his pyjama bottoms down (dad being half asleep asked what she was doing). She then pulled his quilt back over him and said you don't have a nappy to change and walked out. Dad is not incontinent. This should never have happened, there is no dignity in this place. Myself and siblings took him out of there were he is now recovering at home.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I'm very sorry to hear about your concerns. We take dignity, respect, and quality of care very seriously at Homer Lodge, so it's upsetting to learn about your experience. I want to assure you that we investigated this matter thoroughly. Our records indicate...
I went to a seated exercise class held in the lounge. It was very good. The guy taking you through exercises made it fun and engaged in personal conversation with all service users.

My stay at Homer Lodge was due to an accident where I was confined to bed rest initially. My room was spacious and clean. The management were hands-on with all professional ethics where the patient comes first. I was very impressed with how well the facility was organised and how attentive and friendly the staff were. The chef and kitchen staff were concerned about allergies and catered for our personal meds to a very high standard. I can recommend Homer Lodge and will revisit on my passing as I know I feel very welcome as a friend.

From the family's point of view, we were impressed with the care and support he received, enabling his return home when we didn't think it possible. We feel we would have benefitted from more info, more about what was on offer, visiting times, access etc. Perhaps a sheet of info could be provided.
Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience regarding your father's stay at Homer Lodge. We are delighted to hear that he benefitted from our active recovery program and was able to regain his strength after his time in the hospital. It's wonderful to know that the care and support...
My mum was taken to Homer Lodge after being in hospital. She was treated very well at Homer Lodge. The only complaint really is that when she arrived there her medication was not sorted out straight away because it was the weekend and no doctors available for prescription until nearly a week later. It causes a toxic build-up when patients do not have their recommended tablets, it is not good. The staff and management listened and acted as best they could. The staff are all thoughtful, caring and have lovely personalities. Thank you.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback about your mother's stay at Homer Lodge. We greatly appreciate your kind words regarding our staff's thoughtfulness, care, and lovely personalities. It is our utmost priority to provide the best care and support to all our residents and...
My mother-in-law was a resident of Homer Lodge from June 2023 to February 2024, when she passed away. Although the physical building is not luxurious and the location in the city is not near a country park, everything else about this care home is exemplary. The freshly cooked food (home cooked on the premises by superb chefs) / the very high standard entertainment (with an emphasis on 'arts and crafts' in a participative style) / the cleanliness (the whole place always smelt of pine or fresh lemon) and tidiness / the warmth in winter / the comfort of the armchairs / the service from the medical professionals (physiotherapy, nursing attendance, doctors etc) / the full-time maintenance staff to ensure any electrical or plumbing issues were quickly repaired etc. Most importantly, the genuine affection and brilliant care shown towards her by every single staff member was outstanding. We shall miss you all. Thank you.
Thank you for your heartfelt review of Homer Lodge. We deeply appreciate your kind words about your mother-in-law's stay with us and extend our sincerest condolences for your loss. We are glad to hear that our welcoming environment, freshly cooked meals, and engaging activities made her stay...
My mother was admitted to the transition floor after falling and breaking her shoulder. She received physiotherapy during her 13-day stay. The care given by the care home manager and the care manager was above and beyond. They were empathetic and went to great lengths to secure correct medication for my mother. They were always willing to discuss her care and keep me informed of developments.
Thank you for your kind review of Homer Lodge. We are pleased to hear that your mother received excellent care during her stay in our transitional beds. Our care home manager and head of care, as well as all the staff, strive to provide empathetic and attentive service, and it's wonderful to know...
I cannot speak highly enough of the whole team at Homer Lodge. My grandma was a resident here for the last 6 months of her life and they made that time very special for her. From the brilliant food to the extensive range of activities, encouragement to get involved and comfortable surroundings. The care was exceptional, particularly in the final few weeks. The whole team showed genuine care and affection towards my grandma, whilst also providing support to us as a family. A heartfelt thank you for everything you did for her, it will never be forgotten.
Thank you for your heartfelt review of Homer Lodge. We are deeply touched by your kind words about the care your grandma received during her last six months with us. It's wonderful to hear that our food, activities, and comfortable surroundings made her time special. We are especially grateful for...
