Overall, the residents always look well cared for. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. I will make sure this is passed on to the team at Marion Lauder House.
Everyone is very helpful and caring.
I was very comforted and reassured by feeling my husband was always safe and treated very kindly by all staff. The attendance of nursing and medical staff was constant and I felt trust that I would always be informed of any concerns.
I would have struggled to write anything positive as have had several issues with personal care and other things for my husband.
There are new owners and a new manager. If what they say is implemented with future plans, then it sounds like things will be on the right track. The place does need a coat of paint but have been advised this is on the list with many other things that will hopefully bring Marion Lauder House back to the “outstanding" CQC rating. The majority of staff I have met are lovely and deserve credit for working in such difficult situations. The new owners are very approachable and fair, they listen and feedback where necessary. Met the new manager today, she seems very experienced and has great ideas. All sounds very positive going forward and really hope the new plans work.
Just a big thank you to the team who look after her.
I visit my father every day when I am able. I feel like part of the family at this care home now. There are staff members who I have become very friendly with. They take excellent care of my dad, even though he is not always easy to deal with. The whole team are really nice to know, the kitchen staff always happy to make my dad and all of his visitors a cup of tea and a biscuit. The nurses are really good and I trust them with my dad's healthcare. The carers are brilliant, even the maintenance team an admin staff are all fantastic.
I always find the staff welcoming and obliging. My cousin is well cared for in all aspects of his needs
A care home is exactly what it is!
Thank you to you all for giving us peace of mind.
My wife and I find the care home excellent in every way. The home is, without doubt, home from home. The staff cannot do too much for the residents, and it is as though it is one family.
My grandmother receives very good care at the home, she is happy and content. The staff are friendly and approachable and appear to be very caring towards the residents.
We chose Marion Lauder - we were not wrong.
Marion Lauder has lived up to all our expectations from those initial visits. Nearly 6 months on and all aspects of the care that mum has received have been exemplary.
This is a care home that focusses on care.
That may seem an odd thing to say in a care home review, but having had a number of experiences in other homes, it is apparent that care is not always the number one priority.
We are extremely grateful to all at Marion Lauder - their dedication has given us much needed peace of mind, knowing that mum is in the best place she could be.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. It means so much to all the team to know that they are appreciated.
My mother is always happy, always clean and tidy and her every need is attended to.
The staff are a pleasure to deal with and the home manager is excellent.
We made a very good choice with Marion Lauder House.
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Immediately arriving at the home you feel it is a very well run and 'looked after' home. Home is very much the word. Everyone is made welcome and you soon feel you belong to a large family. The staff all treat every resident as they would their own family. Their aim is to care for everybody and to make sure all their needs are met and that they are happy.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. Feedback like this is so valuable to us, our manager and our staff who work so hard to create the impression you talk about. We will ensure that your comments are passed on to the staff. Best wishes.
Got a call from the home to say unable to rouse my Dad. They'd already called an ambulance. He was taken to hospital but the last thing that was said to us was "bring him home asap" which meant a lot to us and showed how much they cared. When he came home one of the girls waited to greet him outside and he smiled excitingly at her which was so reassuring to us that he was happy. Overall, left us happy with his care. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we will ensure that this is passed on to our team.
My wife is 54 years old and we have been married for 31 years. In 2012 she was diagnosed with semantic dementia and at the end of 2015 was fortunate to be given a placement at Marion Lauder. The management and staff were wonderful and continued to be so as her condition changed to a point where it became increasingly difficult to keep her from harm. In 2017 additional premises were acquired and developed to more appropriately meet my wife's needs. (A stroke of genius in my opinion) The premises are of an extremely high standard and following my wife's transfer I have felt so much more confidence that her needs are met as fully as possible that my own health has improved. I cannot thank the management, nurses and all staff enough for what they are doing for my wife.
Unfortunately, my mother had to go into care when her health and dementia became so bad we couldn't give her the proper care necessary at home. At first, it broke my heart that she wanted to come home. She is now very settled and comfortable at Marion Lauder. The staff are all very friendly and my mother is treated so well and often has a laugh with the staff, even though she is very confused in the main. Her quality of life is much better than when she was at home and Marion Lauder was the best decision I could have made for her.
Every where is kept very clean.
She has settled in very well and has got used to the carers. The staff are all very helpful and very caring. I can relax now she is in 24-hour care as I know she is being looked after with dignity and respect and is safe.
Thanks to all the dedicated staff at Marion Lauder.
My uncle was in this home for approximately 10 years. In all that time, we did not have one complaint. The care from the staff was excellent and always with a smile on their faces.

Meet the Team (12)

Buster is a very much loved and well-known character at Marion Lauder house to all residents and families he is part of our family here. You may see Buster moving around the home greeting families at reception or lying in the lounge with residents.
Pet therapy in care homes can increase social interaction not just with the animals but also between other residents. It gives residents something to look forward to, comment on and discuss together in a way that often helps to break down barriers.
Interacting with pet animals can unlock hidden memories of cats, dogs and other creatures that may have been part of the lives of elderly residents in the past. Even when these former encounters can’t be put into words, their joy can often be seen in participants’ faces.

I have worked at Marion Lauder since May 2021; it is a joy for me to travel to work. The company holds values that I believe in, one being, are our residents happy? My answer is “yes”.
That is because we have an excellent activities approach and staff in which, some have worked here for 15 years or more.
As the Manager, I am responsible for assisting the Regional Manager and Directors in maintaining an excellent environment for both residents and staff to be part of. I will walk around the home daily; chatting with residents and staff to see if there are any areas of concern. I will resolve them if I can.
I monitor the home's housekeeping; I am also our Infection Control and Safeguarding Lead.
The home offers excellent training and career progression for staff to participate in if they wish to do so. The team at Marion Lauder are very supportive and I have a very good working relationship with all.
