I'm the neice of a resident Tall Oaks. This was my first visit after my uncle was moved here on new years eve 2025. I was so impressed with mainly how much happier my uncle is now than when he was at home in his own. He loves living in the home. He's so happy. I was also impressed with how attentive
the staff are with the residents. They are such lovely people and nothing is too much for them when I asked questions. There is a fantastic feeling in the home, a feeling of tranquility and calmness. It's the best home ive ever been in.
Thank you so much. I am happy my uncle is being looked after we'll and happy and safe.
Reply from Brett Rutter, coordinator at Tall Oaks Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such kind feedback following your visit to Tall Oaks. It truly means a great deal to us.

My mum has advanced dementia and turned 92 this week. She has been at Marion Lauder for around 7 years as her condition has gradually deteriorated. The care for her has been excellent. The staff are very caring and respectful in what are challenging circumstances. There has been huge improvements over
the last couple of years and the whole place is very smart, clean and has a modern look now. Would certainly recommend Marion Lauder on all levels.
Reply from lee stringfellow, Director at Marion Lauder HouseThanks Paul - we always strive for excellence at Marion Lauder and will continue to do so. The home I would agree is looking fabulous with all of the modern touches we have introduced and we are not stopping there!

We wanted to move my stepfather from the care home he was previously in and from the moment I visited Vale Court I was impressed most of all by the kindness of the staff and the quality of care offered. The communal rooms are light and airy and my stepfather had a lovely room overlooking the garden.
He was always treated with compassion and respect and every single time I visited, I too I was always given a warm welcome. It's a very difficult decision to find a home that you feel confident that your loved one will be cared for in the manner you would want and I never had any doubts about the quality of care given. I cannot thank every member of staff enough for everything they have done for my stepfather.
Reply from lee stringfellow, Director at Vale Court Care HomeJulie, thank you for your kind words. We are making huge improvements to Vale Court bringing it into the 21st century. The staff will be delighted with these comments and I shall ensure I pass them on.

Staff are always happy and treat the residents with respect. Everyone is spoken to by name , even the visitors. Lots of thing to do if the residents want to .
Rooms are always clean and tidy . There has been a change of managers just lately but this has not impacted on the residents.

Goldendale House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband had resided in the Goldendale House Nursing Home for almost 6 years. His health was difficult and variable, requiring different and demanding levels of care. The attention and tenderness shown and given to my husband during this period, has been exceptional. It has been a very distressing
period for us both, but knowing the extent of his support had given me some measure of peace of mind.
During the final weeks of his life, his care I can only describe as devotion to his comfort. I wish to thank all of the staff at Goldendale House for their contribution in my husband's life.

Goldendale care home is a warm and friendly place for loved one to go to be taken care of, Stafford are all very helpful and friendly. The rooms a very nicely decorated and they have plenty of equipment to help the residents.
Our very dear friend Denis became a permanent resident here in November
2024 after discussing it with Denis we decided that Goldendale care home was going to be the best option, as he lived in Tunstall as do me and my partner which made it very easy for us to visit him several times a week.
It's always clean and the Staff work extremely hard to maintain that standard.
And the food that is served to the residents is cooked fresh every day and they will always do their best to accommodate residents need

I feel qualified to comment on this care home because my wife is a resident there and I visit her every day for 3-6 hours. Plenty of time to observe and make a judgment!
Most importantly, it is well staffed with carers, and it is evident that they are well trained and they operate smoothly as a team.
Each carer demonstrates professionalism combined with empathy, responding to the needs of each individual.
In other aspects the home is equally proficient. For example hygiene, cleanliness, catering, occupational therapy, administration, communication etc are all of the highest standard.
Taking care of the sick and elderly is a demanding task, but for relatives of those living in this home, it is reassuring to know that they are se well cared for every day.
Reply from Lee Stringfellow, Director at Marion Lauder HouseThank you Ivan for these lovely words about the service. We often chat about the service when we catch up in the Bistro area and I have passed on your words to Dawn, Michael and the team.

Our father stayed at Vale Court Care Home from September 2024 - June 2025. Throughout that time, the staff were always patient, kind and responsive. I cannot fault the care that was provided. The carers also always took time to check if visitors were okay, offering drinks, moving chairs etc. The room
was a good size and always clean. Dad stayed on the dementia unit and the nursing unit. I would have no hesitation in recommending Vale Court.

This care/nursing home was allocated via the NHS/CHC assessment process. So that cost was funded by the NHS. I found this home to be extremely adaquate and the staff were excellent in caring for my wife. Some of the ratings are not applicable due to my wife's condition, she was unable to participate.

Thank you so much for the kindness and love you demonstrated to my mum and my dad, when mum was a resident in Goldendale. Staff in general were lovely and a couple of notable ones were absolutely wonderful. Mum had a peaceful, gentle end of life with the support of staff who she clearly thought so fondly
of - her eyes lit up with joy when they came to attend to her. It was also evident that the feeling was mutual given how sad staff were when she passed away. We will never forget this as a family.

Our Mother was admitted around Oct 2021as a result of her worsening dementia.
The initial stages of her care at Vale Court were fraught with problems resulting in a meeting with the management to address our concerns.
We agreed a plan to continue the care with assurances that the problems would be
ironed out which they duly were.
(We also noticed a big improvement in overall standards and quality of care which never dropped during Mothers stay.)
I must point out that our high expectations for Mothers care were starting to be realised due to more consistent and dedicated staff being introduced so other concerns were easier to manage.
As Mothers care became more intensive "End of Life", we were comforted with the way that her condition was managed up to her passing in March 2025.
Our thanks as a family go to the management and staff at Vale Court for their dedication and care for all the residents but particularly our Mother.

My father-in-law recently came to Goldendale care home due to him being mistreated at his previous care home. Myself my partner and his wife come visit him near enough every day and we are extremely pleased with the care he receives and the whole appearance and quality of care he's been receiving. It
was lovely to find out that the Registered nurse at Goldendale was now here looking after him as we had previously met her while he went into respite for the first time at another previous home. She is a lovely caring person who always goes the extra mile with residents and their families.

We moved my late father into the home with terminal cancer. Right from the start the home were nothing short of fantastic. Whilst it took dad a while to settle in, the staff were more than accommodating and very quickly dad settled in for an all too brief spell. Although dad was only there for around
4 weeks the staff and management made his last four weeks as comfortable and as pain free as possible. They were amazing.
